That's why you don't compare it to the book. And, tbf, LXG the book wasn't one of Moore's best by a long way. I loved the film.Mr Wednesday said:Sorry to sound like a broken reccord or walking cliche, but, compared to the book it was a travestyTrivun said:Why do you want to destroy it? That film is brilliant. In fact, if you have the limited edition one then I'll buy it off you, because my own copy was unfortunately stolen.
I just thought it might be a bit of funMorsePacific said:You know what's a good idea? Not breaking your own possessions. What in the hell is the point in breaking a DVD you don't like? Just keep it for the sake of keeping it.
You're going to break something...for fun? Something that you could give to someone who likes it, make money off of, or just add to a future DVD collection?B1130 said:I just thought it might be a bit of fun
I have allready been convinced not to do it and offered to give it to that Trivun fellow.MorsePacific said:You're going to break something...for fun? There's just no point.
Oh well, then yes I agree there. I have the graphic novel of Volume 1 (and I'm looking to get the other volumes when I can) and I loved it, and compared to the book it is pretty crap. But as a film on it's own, I think it's really good and enjoyed it immensely. It's only bad if you compare it to the book, which I don't because whenever I'm faced with two different representations of something fictional that seem to contradict each other I consider them as being in alternate continuities. But I do see your point and I agree, to a slight extent.Mr Wednesday said:Sorry to sound like a broken reccord or walking cliche, but, compared to the book it was a travestyTrivun said:Why do you want to destroy it? If you don't like it just give it to a used video store. At least then you can get some cash out of it.
Holy Shit. I was also nine when I first saw this movie.Julianking93 said:Maybe it was because I was 9 when I first saw it or maybe because I never read the book or maybe because I just love Sean Connery, but I loved this movie and don't understand the hate its getting.Et3rnalLegend64 said:I was also wondering why everyone hated it. No. I remember seeing it when I was 11 years old and enjoyed it a lot. However, were I to watch it today, I'd probably dismiss it as a cliche action movie. There's nothing wrong with that really, though it is a shame they had to base it off a graphic novel, and to that end, ruined any possibilities of a good LOEG movie ever existing.Julianking93 said:Am I truly the only one who liked that movie?
ok we will discuss this via pms.Trivun said:Oh well, then yes I agree there. Since we both live in the UK (according to your profile) postage shouldn't be too much, I can always sen you money to cover postage through Paypal or something. Shouldn't be a problem

The part with the portrait kind of scarred me.
Exactly what's the point in destroying it when you can get some money by selling it back to a used video store.Z of the Na said:Dude....

I liked it. Then again, I didn't even know it was based off anything when I saw it.Julianking93 said:Am I truly the only one who liked that movie?
