what on earth are you talking about?

the "7.8/10, too much water" meme about IGN's review of Wind Waker HD doesn't exist for nothing.
I thought too much water was Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire.

Might be extremely popular, can't seeing it comparing to OoT though.

Nintendo in general haven't been able to capture that unique atmosphere for awhile now (the cel-shading is going to cost it), and their story, controls and kid friendly idea's have diminished the quality a lot in their previous big name titles. I do hope it turns out to be something amazing though, but I just can't see it happening.

I'm going off of the assumption that these are the same critics who gave Skyward Sword a 10/10.

I want this game to be good as much as anyone else, but that was just as laughable as that Horizon: Zero Dawn review.

Yes it does. At least if for nothings means for no good reason. It exists because in some people's mind an imaginary 7.8 is a bad mark they need to complain about for a long time. I feel this is relevant:

Also, like I said. That 7.8 is imaginary. IGN gave the game an 9.8: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/17/the-legend-of-zelda-the-wind-waker-hd-review the original had a 9.6: http://www.ign.com/articles/2003/03/21/legend-of-zelda-the-wind-waker

The only 7.8 was by gametrailers. The metacritic blurp cites poor pacing later in the game and the review itself has mention of the sailing taking too long and being boring busywork which it bloody well is. This is a game which received an average 9.6 the first time it released and a 9 the second time with the lowest score it was ever given being a 7.8. And I have several more complaints of windwaker. The puzzles all require the zeldalogic of finding out which item solves your problem this time rather than presenting any sort of interesting challenge to the brain or the hand-eye coordination. Tutorialisation is also poor in some area's. The game has a lot of charm which makes up for a lot but it certainly becomes tedious well before it is over. A 7.8 is entirely reasonable.

I'm going to echo everyone else here and say that if you're going off a review in "nintendo force" something that WOULD NOT SURVIVE if people didn't like Nintendo and their products, I'd say there's no way that they're objective considering their very existence as a publication depends on Nintendo games being good and Nintendo not going under.

So yeah, "10/10 best game ever, will be talked about for 30 years to come," is probably somewhat hyperbolic.

That said, Breath of the Wild does look great, it's just a shame that it's running on a system that's kneecapping it, and doubly so in terms of the WiiU, where it's not even going to hit 30fps.

Yeah and people said Skyward Sword was good too, look how that turned out.

My hope is that it feels like a somewhat living world since its supposed to be a truly open-world experience, not like the hubworld style of old. I want it to feel like there's something there and not just empty space between content rich areas. Otherwise I'm looking forward to it, because I really haven't found a LoZ I haven't liked, even Skyward Sword's awkwardness was still fun.
I'm not really sure why being open world would make the world feel more alive, because "open world" games tend to accentuate the feeling that everybody is just standing around waiting for the PC to show up and fix all the problems.

Also I'm not holding my breath for this game feeling somewhat alive. I don't think Nintendo is capable of making a game as good as Majora's Mask anymore.

All this thread has done is remind me that people who claim not to be interested in Nintendo have a creepy obsession similar to someone who keeps calling his ex after she's gotten on with her life.

And fans are the battered missus that keeps telling herself "I can change him, I can change him".
Analogies are fun.

So your way to prove me wrong is...by proving me right? Okay, if that floats your boat, Sparky.

Well, if that ex is a giant, emotionless robot that's completely out of touch with current times and that a few million people still swear a ridiculously fierce loyalty to... then yes, I find that facinating.

I love Nintendo games, but I absolutely hate Nintendo hardware, thus I've not owned a Nintendo console since the N64 (actually I would totally have bought the gamecube but I missed that entire console generation due to being too poor). So it's less me having a creepy obsession with something that I claim to hate and more me being incredibly disappointed in the fact that Nintendo keeps trying to appeal to an audience that isn't me. I'm basically standing there with my wallet in my hands just going "please release something that isn't shit so I can buy it."

That was pretty hilarious. Almost forgot how much of a diva Cliffy B was/is. Then the gamer rage...it's almost like we might as well get rid of numerical/letter grade scoring and rely only on literal, objective impressions, period.

As others have said, the bias is practically on the front cover.
And it is quite concerning, since Ninty already basically admitted that its 30FPS cap won't be stable, atleast on WiiU.

1. Are you the bully in an Adam Sandler movie?
2. Does that make me Adam Sandler and if so, can I get Jessica Biel?

????? That is a weirdly (and creepily) specific fantasy to be bringing up. Backing away slowly now. Don't want to expose my back.

God's sakes Yoshi, it's called sarcasm. Someone acted sarcastic and posted about it. It's not like he's telling you the Switch/Zelda is shit and you should feel bad for thinking otherwise. Any post that doesn't fall in line with "everyone must love Nintendo" isn't some personal attack to you or your opinions.

Chill the fuck out, it's not a big deal

yeah that totally doesn't sound like a personal attack against me from him Elvis, making assumptions about me along those lines like that.
