[HEADING=1]And so a new legend began, on the fiftieth anniversary of the last...[/HEADING]

It was finally time. The Festival of the Trinity had arrived, and with it Castle Town would be filled with celebration from dawn till dusk. It was only noon, but the capital of Hyrule had already been transformed into a thriving center of ruckus, colour and music.

The streets of Castle Town were bursting with activity. People of every race were shuffling about in crowds that made the main streets look like kaleidoscopes. Among them were musicians, jugglers, storytellers, amateur magicians and other performers trying to show off their talents. A sizeable crowd was gathered around a Bublin and Hylian with wooden weapons, who were reenacting one of the duels between King Bulbin and the Hero.

Merchants who had set up stalls early in the morning were howling over the noise to try and attract customers. Most of them were Deku travellers from afar, offering bizarre wares at extravagant prices. There were also free things, festival masks and balloons being handed out like candy. Of course, the candy itself was cranked up to ten rupees a bag.

In the Smokey Dodongo, the town's largest tavern, a small army of milkdrinkers had gathered. Soldiers, mercenaries, pirates and rogues had taken the place of usual patrons, deafening the halls with their shouts and cheers. There were Blins sitting next to Hylians sitting next to Lizalfos sitting next to Gorons. On any other day these people might have been enemies. But excessive drinking on a day off work made everyone friends.

On the more elegant side of town, the central fountain of Castle Town was quite the sight. The Kokiri Emerald, the Goron Ruby and the Zora Sapphire stood atop a pillar in the middle, all three great gems shimmering in the daylight. The guards watched them from a distance, allowing festival-goers to hang around the fountain but keeping an eye out for anyone who stepped into its waters. The area around the fountain was thoroughly decorated, flowerbeds covering the main plaza and beautiful banners draped along buildings.

At the entrance to Hyrule Castle the guards were making a larger ruckus than anything else in the town. Metal clanking filled the air as they ran around, frequently bumping into each other in a rush to get ready for Princess Zelda. Her Highness was going to hold a welcoming ceremony for a surprise visitor today, news of which had only gotten to the local garrison mere minutes ago. The guest was apparently important enough to warrant the Princess herself greeting them. After making their best attempt to form a non-embarrassing line, the guards were ordered to face forward as the castle gates slowly rolled open. Her Highness alongside of handful of knights and nobles came out from the courtyard, Knight Commander Sigrid and a cloaked figure closest to her side.

The visitor himself had just arrived at Castle Town. His carriage marked with Gerudo emblems rode through Lanayru Gate, without needing to even hail a guard for entrance. Inside was a male Gerudo, with fiery red hair and a look of bored contempt. Next to him was a female Gerudo dressed in fine fabric rather than the armour usually worn by bodyguards, a pair of scimitars at both sides. Across from them was another Gerudo bodyguard...and a Hylian boy.

Prince Shah scoffed as he looked through the side of his carriage. "What utter barbarity." He said. "I thought you Hylians were supposed to be the civilized ones." The comment seemed to be addressed to the noble boy with the Gerudo, but he didn't face him until after speaking. "If I wasn't in this carriage, I'd be deafened by all the noise. Gerudo celebrations are far more humble than this."

"Ummph."

Lynd wasn't feeling well. A long night of nursing a drink... or two... dozen... didn't make for a morning person. But what was he supposed to do!? Just sit around NOT drinking himself stupid after learning fate itself had decided to take a crap all over his nice, simple life? He made a mental note to take out more of his frustrations on Tern before slumping back against the wall. It took every ounce of concentration he had to keep himself from shouting and screaming to the rushing guards to shut up and be quiet - the noise was starting to coalesce in his forehead as a steady, painful throb.

But alas, the Princess herself had the guard in a tizzy. Making a scene would only be more trouble than it could possibly be worth if he just kept his mouth shut and hope the others would ignore him like they usually did. He stole a glance at his right arm and grimaced - the gauntlet was still there, glinting in the morning sun like a freshly minted coin.

He sincerely hoped nobody important would deign to look too closely at him. This sort of thing screamed 'Please! Send me on a dangerous, bothersome quest!'

He was roused from his stupor by a familiar dim face, who grimaced when he saw Lynd's sorry state. "Capn's telling us to line up all formal-like. Best to hurry - Sigrid's not one ta keep waiting."

"Can it, Tern. I don't need any more 'advice' from you." He made sure to lay on the venom there - while it wasn't mature, he was too hung over to care. It had the desired effect, Tern flinching with a look of guilt splashed across his features. "Look, man, I'm sorry! How many times do I need to say it? But this is serious! The princess herself is..."

"Yea, yea. Big important noble. Jobs on the line. I get it." Lynd waved a hand nonchalantly and moved to join the others. He did his best to swallow his grumpiness and stood at attention with the others, making a point to keep as much of his right arm out of view as possible without drawing suspicion.

As a carriage rode in through the Lanaryu gate to Hyrule's Castle Town, a winded Sorti swooped down into the road and flapped his wings once to steady his landing. The young Rito panted softly, hunching forward as he fought to catch his breath. Really, he needed to pace himself more when it came to long-distance flights. Though, at the very least, he had the good sense to not try a non-stop trip to Hyrule straight from Dragon Roost Island. That would have been lunacy even for the best fliers in the postal service.

When he finally caught his breath and straightened, he caught sight of the carriage that he had flown over in his haste to land safely, and he waved.

"Hey, sorry about that near miss! Everything alright with the carriage, yea? No one hurt?" he called over.

Deciding now as as good a time as any to get to know the people visiting the town, he continued while striding up.

"So, you're all here for the festival too, yea? I'm Sorti, it's a pleasure." the young Rito said, bowing a little to the carriage, though he couldn't tell who was inside.

Ah, the joys and merriment of a nearly overcrowded tavern. The Smokey Dodongo, like it was every year when the Festival of the Trinity rolled around, was a hustle and bustle of activity; with men, women, and even a few children if it was to be believed of all races and professions could be found here swapping stories and sharing tankards of the finest milk around.

In a corner of tavern's ground floor, one would find the crew of the privateer vessel, Nayru's Wind, having just come back from another successful job, and decided they would the time off that their captain had given them at the festival. Speaking of the captain, Erryn could be found at the head of a long table where the crew was sat at, one foot up on the table whilst the other was tapping along to the music that the house band was playing. She was half listening to the stories that her crewmen were telling each other, when she saw her first mate Faulkner heading towards her carrying two tankards with him.

"Here you are Cap'n. Fresh tankard of milk just the way you like it. Cheers!" He shouted upon arrival, passing one of the tankards over to Erryn, after which the pair of them performed a toast. Faulkner was one of the older member of the crew, and was the first to accept Erryn's authority as Captain when they were voting on who to replace the last one with, as such, he was offered the position of First Mate.

"Cheers Faulkner!" Erryn responded with before taking a long swig. Removing the tankard from her lips, another crewman had noticed a white line across Erryn's top lip which started to make him chuckle. A few more soon noticed what was so funny and joined in.

"Hey! What are you all laughing at?" Erryn asked, her authoritative tone kicking in. This made them shut up quick. Moments later Faulkner gave a small cough when he noticed what was being laughed at.

"It appears that you have grown a mustache captain. Might I suggest you wipe your top lip."

"Why?" She asked, sounding confused, but did it all the same. When she looked at her left hand, she noticed the milk.

"Oh I see, milk mustache. Real funny guys." Erryn remarked with a smirk as the storytelling amongst the crew continued.

Bannog Spearcatcher stood gripping his spear tightly in one hand, at the front of a crowd. He watched with cold eyes as a couple of foppish actors- a bulbin and a Hylian- reenacted one of King Bulbin and the Hero's duels.
It was, shockingly, a fairly accurate reenactment. He supposed it made sense. Not many blins were left from the war, but those who were tended to be... Prickly about King Bulbin and the events of the war.

Either way, the Hero's double was being beaten back, a bit at a time, as the Hylians in the crowd got tenser and tenser, before the Hero's double pulled off some flashy trick, disarming and "defeating" the King Bulbin double, illiciting oohs and aahs from the crowd. Bannog frowned, and shouldered his way through the dispersing crowd. In five minutes, the fight would begin again and the crowd would reform, but minus one bulbin.

Bannog wandered the streets for a few minutes, musing to himself. He wasn't fond of this festival, he decided. Too loud, too many people, not enough blins. That was probably a relief for many others, but Bannog found it somewhat unnerving. He'd recently been spending time around pretty much nothing but blins, and now here he was in the middle of Hylian country.
Perhaps it was for the best. Being King Bulbin's watch-dog hadn't earned him many friends outside the court, and the fewer blins in the city, the fewer who would recognize him. Hopefully.

He stopped, absently, in front of a small magic show, trying not to think by focusing on the cheap tricks. It took him only a second to realize that the magician was a real Wizzrobe and not some charlatan. The hairs on the back of his neck prickled, and he moved along quickly, back into the bustle of the street.

Ro looked nervously away from Prince Shah, who had just once again insulted him, his home, and his people. "Well technically your majesty his event is only hosted by the Hylian royal family..."
Ro could see the ire in the prince's eyes. "But of course you're right it's far too noisy and I'm sorry." Ro rushed to apologize for something he had no control over.

The prince confused Ro. He steadfastly refused to participate in the festival for weeks when suddenly, the day before he changed his mind. The prince continued to converse with his bodyguards and brushed Ro's comment off as if it never happened. Ro was trying to muster up enough courage to speak to the prince but just as he began to speak large swooping noise came from outside. "So Prin-AAAAAH" Ro called out in response to the noise. The guards and prince seemed angered by Ro's response. A voice called in.

"Hey, sorry about that near miss!" Ro could see the Gerudo guards notching their arrows in preparation for a battle. He had noticed the guards were on edge over the past few days. He over heard something about a missing girl. "Everything alright with the carriage, yea?" The voice continued. The guard drew back the curtain slightly to spy through.

Ro followed suit and peered through his side of the curtain to see what was beside them, and saw a young Rito boy. Wearing traditional Rito garb and with a sword of some kind strapped to him. The guards saw it was only a boy but were still on edge. Ro couldn't even bring himself to look at the prince. The guards could attack and kill the Rito, who just identified himself as Sorti, if they were inclined. Ro panicked and needed to interfere, he tried to speak up but was unable to face the prince. Without thinking he pulled open the curtain and stuck his head out. It was the most logical decision he could come up with in a few seconds.

"Hello mister Sorti." Ro spoke with an urgency unusual to him. "My name is Ro of the...technically on behalf of the Knights, escorting an important dignitary to the festival." Ro figured disarming the situation and flattering the prince might lead to a less fatal confrontation." Realizing all eyes in the carriage were on him he recoiled slightly, but continued on. "So are you here on behalf of the Rito, or just to see the sights?" Ro was now actively avoiding eye contact with any of the Gerudo in his company. He saw they were almost at the bazaar in the center of town. It would be packed with people and Ro doubted anyone, even a prince would attack a someone there. "First time at the festival?" Ro rambled on, trying to stall for time. Ro, not an expert at interacting with others, ran out of things to say and ended up staring directly at the Rito, nervously awaiting a response as the carriage pulled into the center of the market.

The Wizzrobe balanced on the side of the fountain, on top of a small black pillar jutting out. It gave him a decent enough view, for someone his size. The crowds weren't much to look at; nicer than the peasants, but their conversations just sounded like noise to him. Nobody spoke of things that really mattered, but nothing outside magic perhaps did that. He sighed wistfully, playing with the sides of his quilted quote that covered him.

"Depressed again?" Perci asked innocently, buzzing around his head again. Ingo rolled his eyes, but nodded anyways, biting his lower lip. He did another scan of the crowd

"Are you still upset they wouldn't let you into the tavern?" Ingo blushed, swiping quickly at his giggling fairy as she quickly ducked under, gracefully floating around the boy, finding a place just out of arms reach above his head.

"It was humiliating! They didn't have to THROW me out!" Ingo pleaded, trying to get her to see his side.

"You teleported back in four times." Perci replied matter-of-factly, Ingo muttered something foul under his breath. Silence hung between them, broken by Ingo's sudden lunging at the fairy. She skittered away, Ingo slipped from his perch-

"Ei nath!" he cried, stopping suddenly and hanging in the air. He coughed, straightening himself out. The Kokiri looked around, a few people turned to look at him, but overall most had gone back to their lives. Ingo smiled sheepishly, strolling through the air towards the castle. He dropped down to the hard earth beneath him, deciding to just wander around a bit. He needed money...

"Wake up miss, we're here."

Hyoko yawned and stretched out against the boxes she was lying against. On her travel to Hyrule, she had come across a farmer on his way to deliver boxes of goods to the city, and had persuaded him to take her along. After days of wandering, it was nice to rest her feet for once.

She hopped off the cart, stretching her muscles. The Hylian farmer frowned and tapped his foot impatiently. "Ahem. I believe you mentioned something about payment when we arrived...?"

Hyoko reached into a pouch and pulled out a purple rupee, which she tossed to him. "Here ya go! Don't spend it all in one place now!" She said cheerfully, and pulling her bag tighter across her shoulders, wandered off into the city itself.

Instantly she was glad she was able to make it to the celebration. There were more people here than she had ever seen, and off all different races too! There were stand selling all sorts of wondrous things, live shows of heroic events, and the air was filled with music.

Hyoko stifled a gasp and quickly ducked into an alleyway, nervously peering out. The Gerudo Prince himself was in a carriage, looking rather put out by the whole affair. He turned his head slightly and she disappeared back into the alley with a soft "Meep!"

Had he seen her? Did he come to get her himself? Hyoko risked another glance, and to her relief, the Princed seemed to be focused on something else. It had to be just a coincidence... though she was honestly surprised he was even here, what with his deep-seated disdain for Hylians and all... Either way, Hyoko would rather not be caught, and despite it being an anathema to her nature, she had to remain hidden.

Pulling her cloak tightly around her body, Hyoko disappeared into the crowds.

The Dinolfos stepped through the town gates without much care, not caring that the guards and people were giving him strange looks. Even for a Dinolfos, he was traveling alone for one, and his Skull-kid clothes made him stand out even more in the crowds. The lizard stood head and shoulders among a vast majority of the races present in the streets. He felt quite out of place and very anxious amongst the crowds. Never before had he seen such a large group of people, normally only around one or two people, and the skullkid always being one of them. He let out a soft growl under his breath, walking through the bustling streets as best he could, seeing all the stalls with various merchants selling various amounts of goods.

The goods all looked so extravagent and fancy, not to mention it looked very useful...but the prices were Sooooo high! He only had fifty rupies to his name and his clawshot. He sighed a bit and took his leave of the market stalls, the deku merchants all looking at him with a mixture of bewilderment nad fear, partially because he was clothed like one of the trickster races, and he was a Dinofols. WIthout much to go on, the tall lizard continued to walk around through the streets aimlessly, before coming to a pub labeled "The Smoking Dodongo" The dino was quite thirsty, so he took a step inside, instantly being greeted by many species, Mainly gorons, Dinolfos, Lizalfos, and other creatures native to teh mountain regions. Many of which turnd their heads and looked at him, a bit shocked at seeing a silver scaled Dinolfos fully grown.

"How did he survive..."

"Why is he wearing that weird garb?"

"I thought we killed his kind whenever they were born..."

The entire lizalfos population was whispering among themselves, but he paid them no heed, taking a seat at the end of the bar and looking at the bartender. "What can I getcha friend? Enjoying the festival so far?" The hylian asked, polishing a mug.

"What exactly do you sell here? this is my first time in the city, I've never been outside of the Lost woods before." Ragnar explained to him, resting his arms on the counter.

The bartender was genuinely surprised at the Dino's claim, pulling out a mug and filling it full of Lon Lon milk. "Here ya go, on the house for ya, If you made it out of the lost woods and lived, thats something worth something." He told him, the bartender smiling. "Enjoy your milk, just ask if you need anything."

The dinolfos smiled and took a sip of the creamy substance, quite happy with the taste, he continued to take gulps until his glass was drained, quite happy with the flavor. "This is delicious! What is this?" He asked, having always lived off of water and juice from berries in the forest.

"Its milk, you mean you never had milk before?"

"Never...Again, i've never known life outside my forest."

"I'm sorry to hear that...here, drink til you're content." HE told him, filling up the dinolfos' glass once more before going to tend to other customers.

Hearing this, the other lizalfos and Dinolfos began drawing their weapons, approaching the oddly dressed Dino. "You...are an abomination.." One of them seethed at the silver, Ragnar looking over at them and looking quite afraid of teh sharp weapons in their hands.

"I'm not an abomination...and I don't want trouble. I'm here to find out who threw me over the cliffs of death mountain when I was born." He growled to the smaller beings. Even he was a bit taller than the other dinolfos in the bar. "Unless you're that one, then I don't want any trouble from you. "

They all hissed at him, the bar growing silent as they observed the confrontation going on. "You do not speak down to us, Silver." they snarled, until a big burly goron stepped between the two parties.

"I do not know what quarrel you two have with each other, but it seems that he has done nothing to warrant such hostility, This is a festival of peace, do not sully it with your haste and petty trifles" He told them, in a booming, deep voice. He turned to look at Ragnar and blinked, the dinolfos nowhere to be found as the door slammed shut...with the glass of milk missing from the counter.

After making his escape, the Dinolfos began walking amongst the crowds once more, trying to find something to go on, a lead of some sort, or just someone to talk to...

Rio had walked over to the Central Fountain on his own, being told that he was to return the Castle Town Streets in a while. He was carrying a festival mask, as some strange people had handed them out, although it'd be far too embarrassing to put it on. Still, at least it had been for free, he only had 20 Rupees, and so far, he hadn't been able to afford anything else than candy, which he didn't want to buy. The young Zora was spending his time examining the great gems, and to him, it was obvious that the most beautiful one was the Zora Sapphire. Still, the overall display was... nice. Kinda pretty. Not beautiful, not like home.

Of course not. This whole trip was wasted.

Rio wanted to go home, but he couldn't, he had to prove that the world above the water was less beautiful than the world underneath it. Even if that meant that he had to travel for a while.

At least there's water here, in the fountain.

He saw this weird small guy, balancing on the fountain, talking to himself. Or was there something there? Yes, there was. A small fairy, if he remembered the word correctly. He looked at the pair curiously -how weird they were- but when they left, he decided to stay there for a while longer, looking around. There was a lot of Hylians here, not that many others. There was a lot of different kinds of people though. Even some monsters, although he had been told that they weren't bad, not here, not now. He wondered if his father would have liked to be there as well, if only because he was there.

Probably not.

Understandable. It was noisy, and strange, and different. His feet felt odd from walking, and people turned to look at him sometimes. It wasn't his fault he wasn't used to walking like this, not at all. Rio decided to go back to the meeting place, to talk to familiar people. However, on his way, he happened upon a show that he had missed on his way to the fountain -probably a result of wandering around confused and aimlessly for a while- a duel between a monster... -he wasn't sure what kind- and a Hylian, fighting with wooden swords.

Weird.

He wondered how and why they moved like they did. If he had been fighting, it wouldn't have looked that stripped of grace. When Zora fought, it was almost like a dance. Then again, that was underwater. Still, he kept looking, and by the end of it, he almost found himself cheering for the Hylian, having taken a liking to the weird way of fighting.

The young Rito perked up a little when someone inside the carriage poked their head out, and he cocked his head to one side as he noticed just how nervous that someone looked. It was a Hylian by the look of him, and one that was uncomfortable either with the fact that he had to talk to a Rito boy, or whoever else was in the carriage. So far, Sorti didn't see any reason why he should be the cause of the discomfort, so he simply assumed it was his company in the carriage.

"Hello mister Sorti. My name is Ro of the...technically on behalf of the Knights, escorting an important dignitary to the festival."

The carriage hardly seemed to stop, so the young Rito simply strode alongside, not tempted in the slightest to attempt flight again so soon. Better to rest his wings for a bit.

"So are you here on behalf of the Rito, or just to see the sights? First time at the festival?"

"Just here to see the sights. I'm only thirteen, so this is my first time on the mainland, actually." he said with a smile, before motioning to the carriage.

"So, who's this important guy you have to escort?" Sorti inquired, and despite the wording he meant no offense at all.

Ro waited for the carriage to come to a stop as it neared the market. He quickly moved out of the way for the Gerudo guards and the Prince. He turned to the young Rito. "Well Sorti," Ro shifted himself to make sure he wasn't in anyone's way. "I'm escorting P-prince Shah of the Gerudo." He glanced in the dignitaries direction to see if he introduced incorrectly or offended him in anyway. Ro tried not to think about the myriad of ways he may have offended the prince.

He turned his attention to the Rito boy. He stumbled, trying to make conversation. "Only thirteen and off on your own...that's impressive." Ro flinched as he pictured how many times he had failed by age thirteen. "So, what do you think of the city? I grew up here. It's supposed to be a really special festival this year." He tried to smile at the end of his sentence, hoping he came off friendly and not strange or awkward.

While the grounds of Castle Town were turned into a cluster of noise and colour by the Festival, the skies above remained quiet and monochrome as always. With everyone below focused on celebrating, it would have been difficult to notice the sudden changing of winds. A chilly breeze was coming towards Castle Town, and with it grey clouds looming in the distance. More keen eyes might have noticed a black figure against the blue-white sky, the right size of frame to be a Rito. Although the figure flapped it wings as it soared over the town, there was no noise to be heard from it.

[HEADING=2]The Carriage[/HEADING]

Prince Shah's eyes widened as he pursed his lips into a frown. Whether this was in response to the swooping noise of a Rito nearly ramming into the carriage or Ro's reaction to that was unknown. As his bodyguards gripped the hilts and strings of their weapons, clearly put on alarm by the sudden noise, Shah remained silent with his arms and face both crossed.

He shot a glare at Ro as the Hylian boy swung the carriage curtain open, addressing the Rito boy who had called out to them. Practically seething, Shah banged his hand against the side of the carriage twice, signalling the driver to stop. As the carriage came to a halt outside the marketplace, Shah turned to face Sorti while still inside his vehicle.

"As knife-ears said, I am the ruler of all Gerudo." He said. "And I am only coming to this celebration of barbarity for one reason. A meeting with Queen Witch of Hyrule. And due to the importance of this meeting, I would rather not have myself delayed any further by the chumminess of ignorant children."

Shah turned to face Ro, frowning nastily as expected. "So Barron, would you be a good host and slide that blasted curtain shut? Or perhaps you'd prefer to leave my carriage and spend more time blabbering with your new friend..."

Meanwhile the carriage was getting quite a few eyes drawn towards it, likely due to the rare Gerudo markings. One person however, a young woman with red hair, seemed more intrigued by the Rito who was giving the carriage a hassle. She walked over to Sorti, eyeing his strange arms and nose with much curiosity before speaking. "Are you...a Rito?" she asked, smiling at the boy. "Like that's not a costume? You have real wings and all?"

Shah let out a groan and placed his face into his palm. "Wonderful! Now we're going to have a whole crowd soon enough..."

[HEADING=2]Along the Market Street[/HEADING]

"What do you call a tree that's lost its mind?"

"I will punch you."

The pink bokoblin giggled at the merchant's response. He clearly thought himself the funny sort, wearing a bunny hood that looked ridiculous even within the context of the festival. "A deku nut!" he howled, ducking just in time to avoid a swinging hand from across the counter.

"Alright I got a better one for ya! What did the momma Zora say to the kid Zora when...." The bokoblin's joke trailed off as he noticed a commotion near the marketplace. He turned and saw the carriage with Gerudo markings, that caused him to grin toothily. The 'blin rubbed his hands together and chuckled to himself. "Nevermind! I've got to get ready for the big show. See ya, loser!"

The bokoblin dashed away from the merchant's stall. He began moving through the crowd with a rapid momentum, dodging and weaving and even hopping over people with ease as he made his way towards the tavern. "Move it! Scram! Out of the way squares!"

Meanwhile, a bellowing voice could be heard on the other side of the market. "Masks! Gather one, gather all, children of Hyrule, for a free traditional Festival of the Trinity mask!" The source of the voice was a Goron. He stood large even by the standards of his race, and seemed like a historical reenactor with his grandiose voice and the cape draped over his back. He held a stack of masks almost as tall as he was in one hand, the other gesturing or tossing masks into the crowd.

"The official Festival of the Trinity mask! The sort worn by the Hero himself during his battle with the stone octorocks of Death Mountain!" The Goron lifted one of the masks to show it off. It didn't look like anything special - a plain red mask with holes for one's mouth and eyes, plus a few colours drawn over in crude patterns. Nevertheless people seemed to be flocking for the free attire.

The strange Goron continued to toss his masks around, looking through the crowds for anyone who wasn't already wearing one. "You there! Blinish warrior!" he shouted, pointing towards Bannog. "You seem ancient! You must remember this fearsome mask of the old days!" He continued scanning the crowds for more individuals to call out. "Or you there! Son of the scale!" he called towards Ragnar, who stuck out from the rest of the crowd even more than Bannog. "Judging from your attire, you must be the tribal sort! Surely you can admire the primordial, savage craftsmanship of this mask?

He then spied a cloaked figure moving through the crowds. "Or how about you, cloaked stranger?" he shouted at Hyoko. "I care not who you are hiding from, but surely a mask will better help you disappear! And give you a greater allure of mystery!" The Goron spotted Rio watching one of the re-enactments. "Ah, an aficionado of the arts! Surely you can appreciate the beauty of these masks!" he yelled from right behind the poor Zora.

[HEADING=2]In the Smokey Dodongo[/HEADING]

After Ragnar left the tavern, the other Lizalfos hissed and returned to their drinks. As they grumbled amongst each one another, the bartender simply sighed and continued serving. The Dinolfos particularly seemed to be part of a group, sticking along the same seats and talking only with each other.

There were plenty of interesting figures within the tavern. A few were seated around a table next to Erryn and her crews. A pair of Hylian sellswords along with a bulky Moblin and a green Bokoblin who looked like a sailor. They appeared to be playing a card game as they talked with each other.

"You think Bercilak's going to show this year?" asked one of the Hylians.
"What makes you say that? He shows up every year. Can't resist whopping half the Hylian army in public spars."
"I hear da real reason he comes 'round is so he can bother Impa 'bout relics." said the Moblin, taking a drink. "Least dat's what me chief says."
"I hear he's not coming this year. My cuz saw him sailing up north to Gale Island a week back." said the Bokoblin. "Too much distance between here and the Great Sea for him to get back in time."
"Dat's a shame."
"Speaking of which Snork, shouldn't your hide be in the Great Sea? I thought you said you were following the lead on some lost Rito treasure."
The bokoblin snorted. "Sod the Great Sea. I'm staying as far away from home as I can until things start calming down. Captain Dagon's been getting more aggressive lately. My cuz's ship got sunk by that sea devil, and my cuz almost went down with it."

[HEADING=2]At the Fountain[/HEADING]

A Hylian man wandered around the plaza. He stood around from the others thanks to this choice of dress - a classy black suit with a white tunic underneath and a red scarf. He had black hair and a pair of bight blue eyes that eagerly examined the fountain. The man was clearly a musician, as he had a suitcase shaped like a violin in one hand. With the other he frequently reached over into flowerbeds, picking out roses or daisies by the stem and giving them a smell before gently tucking them into one of his pockets.

The strange musician approached the fountain itself, taking a seat along the water's edge. His eyes were then caught by a Kokiri who appeared to be playing around with sorcery. "Lovely day, is it not?" he asked Ingo. "You should be careful about using magic like that. Most people around these parts are suspicious of wizzrobes."

[HEADING=2]Near the Castle[/HEADING]

Princess Zelda casually looked about at the guards after arriving from the courtyard. She looked down the road and, failing to see any carriages nearby, turned and spoke to the cloaked figure next to her. Anyone visiting for the festival might have wondered who the person was, but locals like the guards could recognize instantly as Impa. She was the only one allowed to be so close to Her Highness during public events. Even the knights and other nobility kept a few meters distance as they waited.

Knight Commander Sigrid was sizing up the guards as they stood in formation. She was wearing her usual magic armour minus her helmet so that the other soldiers could see her expressions. They were not pleasant ones. Sigrid glared at the guards as she examined their raggedy excuse for a line. She didn't glare at the soldiers as a whole, but rather shot daggers at each individual man or woman who looked out of line. Sigrid gave a particularly nasty, lingering look at Lynd who had the tell-tale signs of a man suffering from a hangover.

Lynd held his ground as Sigrid glared at him, looking for any tell-tale signs of weakness. He was used to it by now - he wasn't the Knight-Commander's favorite, by any stretch of the imagination. He suspected it had less to do with the constant shirking of his duties - if that were really a problem, Janne and Tern would have gotten the boot a long, long time ago. Rather, he got an impression of disappointment. Not that he could blame her - with his sparring record, he'd heard from the other guards, he could have gotten promoted twice over in his time in the guard if he'd bothered to show any initiative. He made a mental note to throw his next few matches - maybe if Sigrid thought he was mildly incompetent instead of misapplied she'd leave him alone.

Her gaze continued to pierce. Lynd made a point of remaining silent - Sigrid was never one for backtalk, and in his current mood he was liable to say something that would get him another two weeks of latrine duty. He could feel the contempt at his sorry state wane as she finished her inspection, and went on to terrorize another victim. Once he was sure she had fully turned her attention elsewhere, he let himself relax, if only slightly. Now all he had to do was let this foreign noble meet with the Princess, then he could round up Janne and Tern and get a drink. Preferably something strong enough to wash out the bitter feeling in his forehead...

~Sorti~

The carriage finally stopped just outside the marketplace while Ro spoke.

"Well Sorti, I'm escorting P-prince Shah of the Gerudo."

"As knife-ears said, I am the ruler of all Gerudo. And I am only coming to this celebration of barbarity for one reason. A meeting with Queen Witch of Hyrule. And due to the importance of this meeting, I would rather not have myself delayed any further by the chumminess of ignorant children."

Of course, Sorti's first thought was, What a royal jerk, though he didn't speak it aloud. Even he had more tact than that. Instead, he bowed minutely at gave his best apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry to hold you up, Prince Shah.", he said simply, before giving Ro a shrug.

Before he could reply to Ro's other questions however, a nearby woman with red hair looked him over with obvious interest, and the young Rito turned to smile at her politely.

"Are you...a Rito? Like that's not a costume? You have real wings and all?"

Sorti, not one to turn down the opportunity to show off, grinned in reply and jumped up, flapping his wings to hover for a few seconds. The display didn't last long however, since his aching wings protested not long after. When he landed, nodded once.

"That's right! I'm Sorti. And you are?" he inquired, giving the young woman a charming smile.

During this, his back faced the Prince's carriage, clearly showing off the Gerudo designed scabbard and his Scimitar of Din.

"Or how about you, cloaked stranger? I care not who you are hiding from, but surely a mask will better help you disappear! And give you a greater allure of mystery!

Hyoko's eared perked up at the idea of being able to disappear even more, and perhaps seem even more mysterious. She liked standing out from the crowd, but perhaps being able to hide in plain sight sounded like fun!

She walked over to the stand, her curiosity piqued. "Sure, I'll take one!" She said cheerfully. After all, it was free, right?

"You there! Blinish warrior! You seem ancient! You must remember this fearsome mask of the old days!"

Bannog subconsciously scratched at his scar. He remembered the Hero well, though the mask was not known to him, nor were these "stone octorocks" the crier spoke of. Probably a storyteller's embellishment, if he had to guess.
"I recall no such thing, sirrah," Bannog said, stepping closer to the Goron. "Your Hero was fond a collecting random items, though, so perhaps I simply did not see it when I crossed his path."

There was a ripple through the crowd. Few could claim to have actually seen the Hero in this day and age, fifty years later, and blins who had were certainly few and far inbetween.

Bannog took a mask, anyways. Crude and cheaply made, and impossible to wear over his horns. He frowned, and handed it off to the cloaked figure the Goron had called out to next when she asked for one. It took a second for it to hit him that she was a Gerudo.

"Ah, hail, miss." Bannog said courteously. "What brings you to this festival?" She was a... Strange-looking Gerudo, to be sure, dressed in bright pink and jewelry, with an incongruous black cloak straining to hide her.

Things had certainly gotten heated for a moment, when a pack of Lizalfos and Dinolfos caught sight of a large Dinolfos with silver scales that had entered the tavern and was offered a free drink of milk from the bartender. Based on what Erryn could hear amongst all the other sounds, it appeared that the Lizalfos didn't like the Dinolfos one bit. That seemed to be a little ironic given that there were other Dinolfos in the tavern. Perhaps it had something to do with the silver colour of this particular Dinolfos's scales?

In any case, the bartender soon broke up the arguement, and the Dinolfos saw fit to leave. Everything appeared to have settled down quickly, though the lizards by the bar looked as though they were still a little angry. If Erryn was a betting woman, she'd wager that they'd try to track down the silver Dinolfos later, and get rid of him.

Any who, something else that caught Erryn's attention was a group that was sitting at a table next to hers playing cards. Two Hylians, a rather hefty looking Moblin and a green Bokoblin. Sounded like the start of a bad joke to be honest. From the looks of things, the dark haired Hylian appeared to be winning at the moment, but that's besides the point. It wasn't the game they were playing, but rather the topic of conversation.

"Speaking of which Snork, shouldn't your hide be in the Great Sea? I thought you said you were following the lead on some lost Rito treasure." Asked the blonde, short haired Hylian to the apple green coloured Bokoblin.

"Sod the Great Sea. I'm staying as far away from home as I can until things start calming down. Captain Dagon's been getting more aggressive lately. My cuz's ship got sunk by that sea devil, and my cuz almost went down with it." Snorted the Bokoblin.

The mere mention of that name made Erryn drop her half empty tankard on to the floor, the clanking sound of which brought her out of the haze she was in.

"Are you alright Captain. Looked as though you'd seen a ghost or something?" Asked the ship's navigator as she leaned down to pick up Erryn's tankard.

"I'm fine Meelo. Just fine. Excuse me for a moment." Erryn responded tersely as she finished off what little remained in her tankard before getting out of her chair and moving over to an empty chair at the gambling table. It looked as though only the blonde haired Hylian had noticed her at first.

"You wanna buy in missy? If so, it'll cost about 30 Rupees."

"Thanks for the offer, but I'm not here to play. Couldn't help overhear from your Bokoblin friend here that his cousin's ship was attacked by the Dread Captain Dagon. I'm curious to find out where exactly."

"Lovely day, is it not?"

Ingo turned on his heel, looking at the man addressing him. Fanciest pants he'd seen among the crowd, he couldn't help but wonder what he'd want to do with a cloaked Kokiri and his fairy pal.

"You should be careful about using magic like that. Most people around these parts are suspicious of wizzrobes."

'Right. Reprimanding.' Ingo frowned, clearing his throat. Perci made a sound like a groan, she'd heard this sort of speech countless times by now. She buzzed behind the Kokiri, ready to apologize if needed.

"They should be suspicious. I can bend the rules of reality to my whim, after all. I can move my body instantaneously across a continent, I can shoot pure FIRE out of my hands, I can create a life with nothing but my thoughts! I've trained damn hard to do these things, too, like others train their body to wield a sword! But I can do so much more than a swordsman!" Ingo looked the man up and down, smiling faintly.

"I can see you carry a violin, too! A musician. You know of magic, why would mine be any different? Just because it doesn't sound pretty, because mine is known for harm? I know plenty of musicians who can harm a man far worse than a stray bolt of lightning could ever hope-!" Perci nudged Ingo from behind, whispering something, the line "Quit embarrassing us," could be heard if you listened well enough. He also began to noticed the people turning to look at the Wizzrobe making a spectacle of himself.

"... Er, I should get going. Thank you for your time, and the warning. I might keep it in mind... maybe. [sub]Probably not.[/sub]" The kid started off, towards the market. Hopefully he could find something there with his.... zero rupees.

When the Bulbin handed her the mask, Hyoko took it cautiously, hanging it on the side of her head for the time being.

"Ah, hail, miss. What brings you to this festival?"

Hyoko blinked, realizing that he was talking to her. "Um... I'm just here to see the sights, then I'm off to see the rest of Hyrule. How about you? Oh, I'm Hyoko by the way." She added.
