The Dinolfos didn't know what tribe those Dinolfos were from, but he made it a mental note to avoid them at all costs, he didn't want to die after going through what he did.

"Judging from your attire, you must be the tribal sort! Surely you can admire the primordial, savage craftsmanship of this mask?

He turned to the goron salesman and corrected him. "No, i'm nothing like my other kin, I come from the Lost Woods." he told him strongly, looking at the crude mask and thinking for a moment. "But I will take a mask, it will go nicely with my hat." he told him, putting on the mask and putting his hat on over it, making him look like a real Skullkid, aside from the scaled feet, hands and tail. He looked around and continued to find himself with nothing to do. He soon wandered a short distance away to watch the re-enactment of the battle between king Bulbin and the Hero. But much to Ragnar's poor upbringing, he had no idea who these people were, so he just enjoyed the show for what it was.

"Um... I'm just here to see the sights, then I'm off to see the rest of Hyrule. How about you? Oh, I'm Hyoko by the way."
"Bannog Spearcatcher," he said with a slight bow. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm an envoy from King Bulbin... At least, in theory." He trailed off, then started again. "Seeing all of Hyrule, eh? Now there's a lofty goal. Where are you planning to go next?"
Bannog habitually scanned the crowd, taking in the varied people in the streets. He spotted a Kokiri heading from the fountain square, looking rather ornery. Bannog frowned and turned back to Hyoko, awaiting a response.

"That's right! I'm Sorti. And you are?" The young Rito turned his back on Ro and the royal carriage. Ro was dejected, but not at all surprised by this. He was no expert at making friends. It was then that he saw the sword on the Rito's back. It was a beautiful scimitar. Ro fought the urge to remove his notebook and make a quick sketch of it. But it looked familiar. Had he seen it before? He had done extensive research on the Gerudo and Hylain cultures.

Ro heard a groan of disdain from Shah. "Wonderful! Now we're going to have a whole crowd soon enough..." Ro snapped back into reality. He quickly pulled the curtain shut as the carriage pulled to a stop. He turned and faced the prince who was cradling his forehead in his palm.

"So your majesty would like to go an see my majesty...I mean the royal family and make your, um, introductions...or...well I could show you the way to the castle if you would like it, sir." Ro felt his face turn red from yet another humiliating blunder as he waited on Shah.

"Seeing all of Hyrule, eh? Now there's a lofty goal. Where are you planning to go next?"

Hyoko shrugged. "Dunno, I'm looking to go wherever the wind takes me, I guess. And..." She glanced around nervously. "There's some people I'd rather not run into." Realizing she'd said too much about herself, Hyoko decided to change the subject. "So, how about you, what's your story?"

[HEADING=2]The Carriage[/HEADING]

Shah's eyes narrowed as Sorti turned away, noticing something peculiar at the young Rito's side. A scimitar clearly of Gerudo design. He eyed the sheathed blade with much interest and had just opened his mouth to speak when a curtain came swinging by. Shah turned to Ro with a scowl nastier than any he'd previously given. Nevertheless he slowly laid back against his seat. Shah cocked a brow at his question.

"Your Majesty? No, I'd rather not see a sickly old man in his fat bed." the Prince said, smirking slightly as he noticed Ro turn a shameful red. "Your Highness is the one I'm here to meet, remember? And I already have a carriage driver who knows the way. That's why I hired them." As if for emphasis, Shah banged his hand twice against the wood behind him. The carriage started back up again, wheels cranking and horses clopping as it makes its way through the market.

Meanwhile the red-haired girl who approached Sorti remained where she was. She smiled brightly as he displayed his wings, clearly impressed. "My name's Marin. Nice to meet you!" she said. She was clearly older than Sorti, between her late teens and early twenties. Behind Marin was a small harp that was slung over her back. "I've never seen a Rito before. What's it like having wings? I imagine it must be amazing."

[HEADING=2]Along the Market Street[/HEADING]

The Gerudo carriage rode through, forcing the crowd to part as it made its way towards Hyrule Castle. People quickly came flooding back and filled the marketplace again. Some were wearing the masks being handed out by the boisterous Goron. Others were not, either realizing the shoddy quality of the product or being turned off by the Goron's aggressive marketing.

Said Goron let out a hardy chuckle as he handed over a mask to Bannog and Ragnar. "Enjoy them! The Hero's own was crafted from the bark of the King Gohma itself! Poor substitutes in comparison, but still so majestic!" he bellowed. The Goron turned back to Rio, grabbing the Zora by the shoulder and jostling him. "Come then, nautical brother! Do you not feel the wondrous awe that this mask inspires?"

[HEADING=2]In the Smokey Dodongo[/HEADING]

Both of the Hylians gave curious looks at Erryn. The Moblin chuckled, as though finding something amusing about her. The Bokoblin cocked his brow and gave a look of mild surprise. Then he brought his hand to his chin and rubbed it in thought. "Around...ten leagues southwest of Windfall. Like I said, he's been getting aggressive. Bolder too." the sailor reached over and grabbed a tankard. "My cuz was below decks when he felt something rumbling down below. Few seconds later, said he saw hookshots popping through the floorboards. He ran on deck and threw himself off the edge. Lucky for that runt he could swim, unlike most Blins. Cuz said the whole vessel got dragged down in less than a minute."

The Bokoblin took a sip from his drink and leaned closer to Erryn. "Why you asking? If you're looking for easy salvage, you'd have better luck sailing anywhere else. Dagon never once returned what he took." he said, stopping to turn his head away and belch. "And a damned shame that. My cuz lost me a good treasure chart on that vessel..."

Bang went the door of the Smokey Dodongo as it swung open. A pink Bokoblin wearing a bunny hood darted inside, making his way over to the Dinolfos at the counter. Snickering, he ran up behind one and began poking him in the shoulder. "It's time! It's time, it's time, it's tiiime!"

Said Dinolfos turned around to scowled, but then his expression faded. "What? Now?" he hissed.

"That's what it's time means idiot!" the Bokoblin said. He grabbed the reptilian by his arm and began yanking like a child would to their parent. "Come ooon!" The Dinolfos growled as they pulled themselves away from the counter, tossing rupees on the counter as they made their way towards the exit. The Bokoblin ushered them out of the tavern, clapping his hands for each Dinolfos that left. "It's time! It's time, it's time!" he cheered before running out the tavern himself, slamming the door shut behind him.

"...the heck?" thought everyone.

[HEADING=2]At the Fountain[/HEADING]

The musician smirked at Ingo, clearly enjoying the wizzrobe sudden rant. As the Kokiri turned away, he chuckled amusedly and called out. "Oh no! By all means, please stay! I could enjoy some colourful company" he said, gesturing for Ingo to come back over. The Hylian brought his violin case up onto the fountain's edge. After resting it on the stone, he popped the case open and revealed his instrument. While most it appeared to be deku, embedded along the sides of the violin were rupees of every colour.

"Colourful company is hard to find these days. Most people would rather flow with the tide than let their true emotions show." the Hylian said, smiling at Ingo still. "And you're right. About magic and music. In fact,...I'm expected to put on a show to demonstrate the power of music. In a few minutes that is. Until then, how would you like to stick around and chat for a bit?"

[HEADING=2]Near the Castle[/HEADING]

Princess Zelda and the hooded Impa continued to talk with each other, the subject of their conversation unknown. The Princess seemed to have a worried expression on her face though. A rare sight to be sure. The nobility and knights in their company all remained facing forward, anticipating the arrival of the Gerudo Prince any time now.

All expect Sigrid. After scanning the formation of guards, her glare found itself facing Lynd again. Sigrid turned briefly, making sure the carriage was not in sight, before marching over to the guardsman's direction. A few soldiers who were in the middle of yawning or groaning stopped as soon as they saw her coming. She stepped in front of Lynd, glaring down at his gauntleted arm and then back up at him. "That is not standard issue guardsman attire." she hissed. "Remove it at once."

Lynd remained in formation, trying his best to keep his posture. Given the pain in his head, however, his best was half-lidded and stiff. Eventually he took to taking in the surroundings to try and take his mind off the the pain. The Princess looked... off. Like something was concerning her. Lynd only saw her when he was assigned to patrol the castle, and even then always from a distance, but even he could tell she was worried about something. She was still speaking to Impa - was she receiving bad news?

He snapped back to attention when Sigrid came stomping back over. He resisted the impulse to gulp nervously and straightened his lax posture. What now? What could she possibly want with hi-

"That is not standard issue guardsman attire." she hissed, pointing at his gauntlet. "Remove it at once."

'Fuck.'

He averted his gaze, trying to make himself seem meek and unimposing - she might go easy on him if she didn't consider him a threat. "Well, I would, but... uh... small problem. I can't. It's been cursed to my hand." He waved his arm a little bit and made a tug at the gauntlet to demonstrate his point. "Even the priests can't help me."

"Oh no! By all means, please stay! I could enjoy some colourful company"

The Wizzrobe turned around again, curious. Perci gave him a quick nudge, but his curiosity was set in stone. She let out her trademark fairy sigh, hoping that he wouldn't embarrass the duo further. He studied the case as he opened it, and luckily his hair covered his now wide open eyes. Guy had some fancy pants, but his violin looked worth more than most the guests there. Ingo gave an uneasy smile as he came back, trying to hide his greed.

"Colourful company is hard to find these days. Most people would rather flow with the tide than let their true emotions show."

Ingo shot the fairy a side glance, with an 'I told you so' smirk plastered on his face.

"And you're right. About magic and music. In fact,...I'm expected to put on a show to demonstrate the power of music. In a few minutes that is. Until then, how would you like to stick around and chat for a bit?"

"Well, sure I can chat! My name's Ingo, the Wizzrobe. Even trained under Vaati! And who're you?" He asked, still not used to indoor voices or manners.

"Your Majesty? No, I'd rather not see a sickly old man in his fat bed. Your Highness is the one I'm here to meet, remember? And I already have a carriage driver who knows the way. That's why I hired them." Ro glanced up as the prince knocked his hand against the wood behind him. Ro heard a voice, mostly likely the driver, clicking his tongue. The carriage spurred forward. As it shifted, the curtains billowed slightly, he could briefly see the Rito boy in conversation with a young girl, before the curtain shifted again and they were gone from sight.

After several minutes of strained silence, Ro peeked through the curtain once more. He saw what looked like an exceptional festival playing out. "We should be nearing the end of the market soon, we'll be outside the palace soon enough." Before looking away, he saw his family home beyond the market. His parents were probably at on of the noble parties about now. He shifted his gaze and saw the palace gates drawing closer. The guards rushed back and forth, following routes and keeping up with the numerous tasks assigned to them on festival days. Ro swallowed the lump in his throat and turned back to the prince. "I'm sure her Highness will be glad to speak with you Prince Shah." Ro blinked realizing he had misspoken, and not addressed him with the proper formalities. Only another minute or two and they would be at the gate, the excrutiation was nearly over.

The red-haired girl gave him a stunning smile when she saw his wings flourish, and when he landed she introduced herself.

"My name's Marin. Nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you too.", he said cheerfully, even as he directed a friendly wave to Ro as the carriage started to move again.

Then he fully faced the Hylian girl and grinned beneath his beak. He noticed that she was quite a bit older than him, but really, that didn't matter so much to him. She seemed kind, and it was always nice to make new friends, particularly at an event like the festival.

In fact, the stringed instrument on her back caught his eye as she continued.

"I've never seen a Rito before. What's it like having wings? I imagine it must be amazing."

He nodded as he replied, "Flying is definitely fun. Out in the Great Sea, you'll see Rito every now and then on the various islands, though most of them are Postmen."

Then he motioned to her harp.

"So, you're a musician?" the young Rito asked politely.

Looking around at the party of card players, Erryn noticed the bemused looks on both of the Hylian's faces. Meanwhile the Moblin decided to chuckle a little bit, a reason which was lost on her. As for the Bokoblin, he seemed surprised that someone had asked about Dagon.

"Around...ten leagues southwest of Windfall. Like I said, he's been getting aggressive. Bolder too." Snork soon leaned over and grabbed a tankard.

The Bokoblin took a sip from his drink and leaned towards to Erryn, and she could see a curious look in his eyes. "Why you asking? If you're looking for easy salvage, you'd have better luck sailing anywhere else. Dagon never once returned what he took." He said, stopping to turn his head away and belch, though that didn't stop the smell from coming towards Erryn. "And a damned shame that. My cuz lost me a good treasure chart on that vessel..."

Erryn was about to respond to the question, when the door to the tavern suddenly burst open, and in came a pink Bokoblin wearing a bunny hood, and odd combination to say the least. He went over to the Dinolfos over by the counter and began talking to them, and kept saying that "It's time!" to them. All in all it was a strange series of events. But eventually the group of Dinolfos had left the tavern, paying up before they did. Erryn waited for the mood to return before speaking.

"As I was about to say before... whatever it was that was all about. I'm not looking to salvage your cousin's ship, like you say, the Dread Captain doesn't often return what he takes; though I will admit to saying that the treasure chart sounds interesting. No, the reason why I'm asking is for lack of a better word, private. However, what I can tell you, is that it's a simple matter, of some unfinished business I have to attend to."

As the festival continued, more and more people flooded in through Castle Town's gates. Among them were a trio of cloaked riders, who lead their horses in through the Lanayru Gate. On any other day the guards stationed there might have paid heed to such suspicious-looking figures. But the festival had put everyone in a casually lax mood. After entering Castle Town the three cloaked figures turned to each other and nodded, before riding off in their own directions down different streets.

[HEADING=2]By the Market[/HEADING]

Marin nodded her head. "Yup! I can play the harp and know how to sing too." she said. "Hopefully I've practiced both enough to impress the Princess. I heard she was holding auditions today for a new royal bard. It's the reason I came over for the festival."

She then smirked at Sorti. "So what brings you here? Out to assassinate someone?" she asked, gesturing to the boy's scimitar. Marian then turned her head, hearing the Goron from down the street bellowing about masks. "Wow, there sure are a lot of strange characters here." she said to Sorti, although her gaze was focus on the street. "That Lizalfos especially...never seen one so big or oddly coloured." she took notice of Ragnar, who stuck out more than anyone else in the crowd.

[HEADING=2]In the Smokey Dodongo[/HEADING]

Snork continued to look at Erryn, obvious curious and perplexed. Then his Moblin friend chuckled. "I get it! You're out for revenge, ain't ya?"

The other three all turned to face him. "Really? What makes you say that?" asked the black-haired Hylian.

"Da way she sayin' things. Unfinished business...I've heard dat one before. And she's got dat look of 'termination on her." the Moblin faced Erryn, grinning at her. "Ya gotta be real stupid lady. And dat means somethin' coming from a Moblin. Going up 'gainst Dagon is a deathwish. You'd have better luck goin' toe-to-toe with Ganon reborn than that demon - least da former could be fought."

[HEADING=2]The Carriage[/HEADING]

The Carriage drew ever closer to Hyrule Castle. It had already passed through the market road and was passing through the central fountain. Prince Shah sat inside, frowning at Ro still as the Hylian continued to mangle his formalities. "I'm sure she's looking forward to this meeting as much as I am." he snapped back. The Prince's gaze shifted to the carriage's side, peaking through a curtain at the fountain nearby. His eyes lingered on the three great gems laying high atop the water.

Eventually Shah turned back to face Ro. "Tell me boy..." An odd term to use, considering the Prince looked the same age as Ro. "Why did you agree to partake in this silly assignment? Who are you hoping to curry favour with - Sigrid, Impa or the Princess?" he smirked and spoke again before Ro could answer. "I know it's one of the three. Everything you Hylians do involves winning the favour of others. This whole festival is a big, shameless show of that."

[HEADING=2]At the Fountain[/HEADING]

The musician's eyes seemed fixed on the Gerudo carriage as it rode by. It was only when Ingo shouted that the man broke his gaze, turning back to face the Kokiri with a smile. "You can call me Valentine. Mister Valentine." he said, bowing his head. "Pleasure to meet you."

Mister Valentine began adjusting the cords of his rupee-studded violin, its pegs flashing silver in the light as they turned. "A student of Vaati's...what a coincidence. My employer happens to be very close to Lord Vaati." he said, smiling still. "You must be an excellent sorcerer."

[HEADING=2]Near the Castle[/HEADING]

Sigrid's glare intensified when Lynd tried to avert his eyes. "Face me when you speak, soldier." she hissed. The Knight-Commander briefly looked down at Lynd's gauntlet, then back up at his face. She gave him an expressionless, neutral glare that didn't show any hint of whether she was angry or not. "We're going to talk later." Sigrid said. "And next time...drink yourself stupid during the festival, not the night before." That last part was said loud enough for the guardsmen surrounding Lynd to hear. Several snickers followed as Sigrid turned and made her way back to the Princess.

The Bokoblin carried on looking at Erryn, intrigued and slightly perplexed by her words. His Moblin friend on the other hand was busy laughing. "I get it! You're out for revenge, ain't ya?" The others all seemed to be a little shocked by this stunning revelation, Erryn as well a little bit; then again she did have a problem of being subtle sometimes. "Really? What makes you say that?" Asked the dark haired Hylian.

"Da way she sayin' things. Unfinished business...I've heard dat one before. And she's got dat look of 'termination on her." The Moblin soon turned to face Erryn with a devilish grin on it's face. "Ya gotta be real stupid lady. And dat means somethin' coming from a Moblin. Going up 'gainst Dagon is a deathwish. You'd have better luck goin' toe-to-toe with Ganon reborn than that demon - least da former could be fought."

"Yes your right, my business with Dagon does involve some small matter of revenge. And yes, maybe it is stupid of someone to go up against a person who is seemingly immortal. But I have my reasons for doing so. Good day gentlemen. I hope the festival treats you well." Erryn said politely, tipping her hat towards them before leaving the table, making her way back to her crew.

Sigrid continued giving Lynd an earful. Again, not anything he wasn't used to by now - he was one of her favorite targets for a good stern lecturing whenever he shirked his various duties, which was a common occurrence around the barracks. Not that he minded - he never pressed her enough to get fired, and it was easy enough to tune her out. That is, until her parting words, with a brief look at the gauntlet:

"We're going to talk later."

Lynd, up until now holding a dispassionate posture, froze. A small mote of fear worked its way into the pit of his stomach, making it churn. This was NOT good. He'd worked for YEARS to make this life for himself - a simple one where nobody expected anything from him. No responsibility, no hassle, just him and a couple of friends he could get drunk with on his off days.

And that was all coming crashing down around him.

He paid no mind to Sigrid's parting jab or the chuckles of his coworkers. His eyes eventually came to meet the gauntlet on his arm, and the churning sensation in his stomach slowly quelled. This thing was to blame. If he hadn't been stupid enough to put this cursed gauntlet on, none of this would be happening. He could feel his hand beginning to tremble, and he caught himself start to seethe. Taking a deep breath, he quelled his rising temper. Making even more of a scene wouldn't help. He'd just need to make some of the best excuses of his life later, and everything would be fine.

They had to be. No WAY was he going on some crazy adventure.

The Dinolfos soon got bored of the flashy show in front of him and went to browse through the market stalls, finding a few items that could be significantly useful to him on his journeys. He quickly purchased a bomb bag from a goron merchant, ignoring all the incredibly odd looks he was getting from his attire. The Dinolfos quickly attached the bag of bombs to his hip and thanked the merchant, going off through the crowds once more. (-25 rupees, 25 remain)

Back on the streets, he saw the Dinolfos being rallied and lead by a pink Bokoblin "Huh...weird.." he muttered to himself, walking along until he was in front of some weird fiddler with a golden, rupee encrusted violin. Having never seen one of those before, ragnar was quite curious and approached the musician, pointing to his instrument. "Umm...what is that? I've never seen one of those before." He asked, looking at the piece with genuine curiousity.

Ro listened as he heard the sounds of the central market fade, replaced with several "oooohs" and "aaahs" and the bubbling of water. He assumed they were passing by the central fountain and people were observing the great gems. He heard people close by convening about various topics, it was hard to make out any specifics though. A gentle tone filled the air that sounded familiar. A string on a violin, someone must be preparing to play. Maybe a show by the side of the fountain. Ro was snapped out of his thoughts and observations when the prince spoke. Ro had made it a point to avoid people for some time now, and being in a confined space with someone of such high standing and strong will was making him quite uncomfortable.

"I'm sure she's looking forward to this meeting as much as I am." The Prince shifted his view, turning to the side, he peered out at what Ro assumed was the fountain. It was quite a beautiful site, he wondered if the Shah appreciated its beauty, or if he was to caught up in his thoughts. After several seconds of gazing he turned back to Ro. "Tell me boy... Why did you agree to partake in this silly assignment? Who are you hoping to curry favour with - Sigrid, Impa or the Princess?" Ro winced at the Shah's slight at him. Ro took a moment. He didn't want to admit what he was doing, was being done for the sake of others. It might not have been how the Shah made it sound, but Ro was trying impress everyone around him. Ro opened his mouth, but before he could answer the prince continued, "I know it's one of the three. Everything you Hylians do involves winning the favour of others. This whole festival is a big, shameless show of that."

Ro spoke softly under his breath, "You're not wrong". He quickly sat upwards and tried to project what little confidence he had into how he spoke next. "Well your majesty," It took all of Ro's will to maintain eye contact with the Shah's piercing glare. "I... I... well," Ro swallowed his pride and continued, "This assignment was given to me by someone who believes in me." Ro could feel his confidence waning as the conversation dragged, he had to speak his peace. "Everyone wants something. I can't proclaim to know the motivations of a great prince such as yourself, but even you must want something by agreeing to come to the festival and meet with the Princess."

Ro quickly recoiled at his own words. It was shameful to lash out, especially to a royal. He should know better. Any value his outburst may have had was quickly quashed by his withdrawal. He fidgeted in place, eyes darting from the Prince, to the bodyguards, to the ceiling, to the floor, and back to the prince. Ro played with the gold buttons on his dark green suit, he always hated wearing his formal clothing, the suit was stiff, the collar bothered his neck, the fancy shoes felt funny, and the black pants were far too hot to he wearing on a warm day. This simply added to his discomfort. He begged to the goddesses to arrive at the castle before the prince scolded him too much.

"Ah, an aficionado of the arts! Surely you can appreciate the beauty of these masks!"

The young Zora jumped -almost stumbling- because of the sudden voice booming behind him. He was about to grab his spear, when he realized it was only a salesman, a large Goron, if Rio was remembering the descriptions correctly.

Has it never heard of personal space?

Rio frowned, and examined the mask in the Goron's hand. It was shabby, bad even by the standards he had come to expect of the surface-dwellers. Some people were apparently blind, a monster, another monster and a cloaked person accepted the masks.

I suppose this really is as little as they can do. Pitiful.

It made him miss home again, any Zora would be ashamed to hand out anything looking like that.

Still, it was free, so he wouldn't be too harsh. He was about to tell the Goron he already had been handed one, somewhat polite even, when the Goron grabbed him.

"Come then, nautical brother! Do you not feel the wondrous awe that this mask inspires?"

A mix of fright and anger hit, and Rio struggled to get free. When he did, he turned to the Goron. "Let go of me you brute!" he sounded more afraid than anything. This was supposed to be peaceful, wasn't it? "I don't want your ugly mask, I already have one so leave me alone!" he continued with. He had been trained to fight, but this was different. There were no Zora here apart from him -at least he couldn't spot them- and it wasn't the sort of environment he had been trained to fight in. Not that anyone could claim he had even been the brave sort, even in the water.

I'm not even supposed to be here, it's all because of that stupid bet.

Then, Rio realized that he was acting like a child, and that he wasn't in any sort of danger. He turned to the Goron. "Apologies," he muttered, embarrassed, wanting to leave, but knowing it might be even more rude to do so. "I've never been here before, so I'm not used to crowds or loud people."

"Dunno, I'm looking to go wherever the wind takes me, I guess. And... There's some people I'd rather not run into."

Bannog nodded, slowly. It was none of his business, he knew, but part of him wanted to try and help the girl somehow.

Ah, well. There's only so much I can do.

"So, how about you, what's your story?"

Bannog smiled grimly at the girl. "Long, that's what it is. Far too long." He sighed. "I serve my liege, King Bulbin, and the interests of his kingdom as best I can. That's all that really matters, nowadays."

Just then, a cloaked figure rode down the street, the crowd parting before it. Bannog glanced at it, then back at Hyoko.
"Friend of yours?" he joked, then turned and stared after the mounted figure, a growing unease gnawing at his gut.

"On second thought, I don't like the looks of that fellow. I think I'm going to follow him, see where he's off to."

Bannog bowed to the young lady. "Pleasure to meet you, Hyoko, and may the rest of the festival find you well."

He turned to follow the rider, before suddenly stopping and turning back to the girl. "Unless, perhaps, you'd like to come with me? Some company would be enjoyable, and both of us appear to be alone."

Marin quickly nodded when Sorti pointed out her harp.

"Yup! I can play the harp and know how to sing too. Hopefully I've practiced both enough to impress the Princess. I heard she was holding auditions today for a new royal bard. It's the reason I came over for the festival."

Then the she promptly smirked and motioned to his scimitar with a question of her own.

"So what brings you here? Out to assassinate someone?"

At that, Sorti couldn't help a quick laugh even as he shook his head.

"No, no! I'm mainly here to just see the sights and have some fun, yea? But, I'm also hoping to start a career as an adventurer and treasure hunter. Being a Postman isn't for me." he explained with an easy smile.

When she pointed out the various characters among the crowd, including a silver-scaled Dinolfos, wearing strange clothes that looked completely unfamiliar to him. The Goron mask salesman stuck out a little too, though while Sorti was tempted to take a mask himself, he was pretty sure that his beak would get in the way of wearing one of the things.

After that, he turned back to Marin with a shrug and a small smile.

"Well, this is a festival for everyone. You're sure to get some weird ones here and there, yea?" he asked before he bowed.

"Anyway, I hope to see you play at the audition! Talk to you later!" the Rito told her cheerfully before turning to the marketplace.

With any luck, he'd find something of interest that wasn't massively overpriced, particularly since he only had 100 of his own hard-earned Rupees. He wouldn't want to waste them on something frivolous. So when he browsed the various selections, he was surprised to find a bottled fairy, complete with the bottle itself, for only 100 Rupees.

Considering what he had heard of fairies, what with them being able to revive people just on the brink of death, and would even let themselves loose from a bottle to do so, made it a bargain.

Even though it took all of his hard-earned Rupees, he figured it was well worth it. The bottle was reusable, and if he ever needed a fairy, it was best he had one just in case.

"Long, that's what it is. Far too long. I serve my liege, King Bulbin, and the interests of his kingdom as best I can. That's all that really matters, nowadays."

Hyoko was about to respond, when a cloaked figure rode past them.

"Friend of yours?" Bannog asked jokingly, and Hyoko just shrugged.

"Not that I know of." But Bannog didn't seem to be paying attention.

"On second thought, I don't like the looks of that fellow. I think I'm going to follow him, see where he's off to." He bowed politely, saying "Pleasure to meet you, Hyoko, and may the rest of the festival find you well." He turned for a second, then added, " "Unless, perhaps, you'd like to come with me? Some company would be enjoyable, and both of us appear to be alone."

Glancing back at the direction her prince had gone, "..Sure, I don't have anywhere to be for a while."

"You can call me Valentine. Mister Valentine. Pleasure to meet you."

A silly name, but fancy Ingo supposed. Perfect for a musician, especially one who looked so fancy as this one. Ingo turned to see what he was looking at, a carriage. Fancier looking than the musician, in fact, probably containing some bigwig too good to walk to his destination. Valentine spoke again.

"A student of Vaati's...what a coincidence. My employer happens to be very close to Lord Vaati. You must be an excellent sorcerer."

"Employer, eh? I just assumed you were out here for the enjoyment of the people." Ingo smiled a bit, "And flattery is always appreciated. I ain't a master, by any stretch, but I can dish out better fire than some novice with a soggy textbook. Had 200 years to practice, I know my stuff."

Ingo looked around again, lowering his voice a bit. "So... an employer means a job, yeah? What're you doing around these parts then?"
