Has anyone ever finished the Master Quest of Ocarina of Time? As far as I know it is only available in North America by either pre-ordering Wind Waker or on Ocarina of Time 3D. I tried it for awhile and didn't really get that far into it. It rearranges the dungeons and how you progress through them making it much more difficult to progress. I don't know how well known this is but on the original LoZ on NES if you name your file "Zelda" it also changes the layout of the dungeons.

Played it a while ago. I don't remember exactly how I acquired it, but I think I just lucked out finding it as a used Gamestop game one year (alone, didn't buy it with Wind Waker). I liked it a lot, actually.

Also, the first video Let's Play I ever watched was the Freelance Astronauts run in the game, where they tried to do a blind speedrun while racing the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.

I played the 3DS version which in addition to the rearranged dungeons has the enemies doing double damage and horizontally flips the entire game so it's a mirror image of the original. Overall the difficulty is only increased slightly though. It's still a pretty easy game.

I've played it a couple of times (or maybe only once, I can't remember) and I enjoyed it. It's nice to get a fresh take on the familiar dungeons.

I think I emulated it but that was many years ago and I don't remember much at all.

Luckily for me, I am waiting for my New 3DS which should arrive tomorrow with OoT 3D so I will play it through on that. Are you able to play Master Quest straight away? I have beat the original OoT several times but if I have to beat the original again then I will because the game is that great!

I finished it. On Ocarina of time 3ds, it was available. Although I first played it from my copy of the Wind Waker (UK version). Much to my shame, on regular OOT, I couldn't beat the Deku tree, but I did manage on MQ.

I've played the pre-order bonus version and the 3DS version, several times each. In fact, I think I've played those more than vanilla Ocarina to the point I occasionally have trouble in the original's dungeons because I'm looking for a switch/cow/hidden chest that isn't really there.

I finished it and loved it. It reminded me when I played OoT for the first time (specially the sense of exploring a dungeon I haven't beaten before, and frustration of being stuck in there)

It's been a few years, but yeah I finished OoT:MQ. I had a lovely time with it, but I recall feeling it was in some respects easier than the vanilla game. If nothing else it was an appreciated reorganization of OoT.

Yeah, I got the Master Quest with the original Wind Waker release for GameCube. I finished it, though there are a few puzzles which are downright unfair in that version.

Oh, and one potentially gamebreaking bit in the Fire Temple. Though in fairness I'm pretty sure it was possible to screw up the Fire Temple in the original as well by using small keys in the wrong place so meh. I always hated that one more than the more generally reviled Water Temple.

Finished it on the original, and on the 3DS with the flipped version. I remeber having more problems in the young Link Dungeons than the adult Link ones for some reason, Dodongo's Cavern to be precise. Otherwise, if you spend enough time with them, you'll figure out how to get though the dungeons.

I remember really liking that the new version of the Bottom of the Well forced you to actually explore the dungeon instead of just running straight to the boss Dead Hand. I would love to see more Zelda games get the second/master quest treatment.
