the books are great, at the very least read the first one BEFORE you see the movie. you might be so appalled by the movie alone you never want to touch the series.

From the adverts, Solomon Kane looks exactly like Van Helsing. I was convinced it it was a sequel to that first travesty of a film. as for the The Lightning Thief...no. Not even the slightest bit tempted. I'm going to stick with my plan to go see The Princess and the Frog and Ponyo.

Solomon Kane should be coming to the U.K. later this week, but a U.S. distributor has yet to be found. Maybe if the film does well in Europe, someone will pick it up and show it off stateside. I really want to see the film, and I don't care if I see it on DVD or in theaters.
