I don't know...the story itself was terribly sad and still might come true. I can see a horrifying movie marketed for children again...

I have to admit, when I saw the thread title on the side bar I got really mad, but you know what? That actually looks pretty good, I might just go see it.

Captcha: Club's ntrynwe.
Oh, I wasn't aware this ntrynwe belonged to anyone, I'll just put it back where I found it.

I hate to be that sort of person but I'm going to be this time. The best thing about the orignal book was that it's sad and dark and has a meaningful message. If you make it like all the other dr suess movies you seriously undervalue the material.

I was honestly surprised, this doesn't look that bad. I know the original story is dark and depressing, but is it wrong for me to want a happy ending?

(Also, is it just me, or does that one guy (the one voiced by Ed Helms) look a lot like Trilby from the Chzo Mythos? Am I the only one who sees it?)

I like the visuals, I like the voice actors (even if I am indifferent about some of them as normal actors), I like the humor shown, I like the fact that at least some of the people from Despicable me are working on it.

I may go with my sister and my close friends who I generally go to see childish moves with.

I remember checking out the Lorax vhs from the library as a kid multiple times. It was always such a sad story, but for some reason I just loved it because there was a heart warming aspect to it I could never put my finger on. I think the addition of the love story they're cramming in there to fill out the extra hour will be a bit painful to watch, but considering they've cast Ed Helms and Danny Divito I've got a feeling the meat of the movie will still be held up by the original story.

It looks like most of the actual LORAX part of the story is a kind of flashback told by the Once-ler to the kid, at least that's my impression. Let's give it a chance, guys, it might surprise us.

In some ways, I feel like they're screwing the story (And the Animated Short): The Modern Whoville was dark and dirty, and probably an unsafe place to represent how Humans destroy forests and cause the heck they live in themselves. The fact that it's sterile instead of dirty in this movie makes me feel like a sad Panda (or maybe a very angry Lorax).

But in other ways, I feel like their tapping into something ingenious! Think about it: The reason why the Once-ler doesn't look like the Once-ler in the past is because at first, he was doing what he did for good intentions: He looks young, naive, and fool hearted, which is exactly how most people are before they enter politics or Business management. As he grows old and as the his world around him turns dark, he will turn into a Grinch-like thing from his own mistakes, and his own arrogance. If they do that in the story form, then they have already won me over.

I'm leaning to go see it even if that's not the case, what with the Awesome voice actors (Danny DiVeto mostly). I hope they do it in the Story form, I really really do.
