A mix of "cynical snob" and "troll"- I normally dont hate a game as much as I might make out, and do so to piss off all the ridiculous fanboys, and for the record people Yahtzee, Jim Sterling, TotalBiscuit and the rest are being "professional", i.e. giving their honest opnion on a game and not glossing over its flaws.
Learn to accept people disagreeing with you, its fundamental part of growing up.

it's funny how your little tag is "your local CoD defender", and you go on to specifically name MW3 as one of the games that is a "victim" of these haters.

It seems to me as if you're just trying to stereotype people that disagree with you, just because their opinion isn't the same as yours. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to dislike CoD, and that's before you even bring "personal preference" into the argument.

Yeah, some people don't like the games you like. That does not make them stupid, it does not make them biased, and it does not mean that they are jumping on a bandwagon. Grow up, and accept that people like different things, instead of writing out hate speeches against people that disagree with your opinions.

I can be known as #4 The troll, but not on this site. (at least as far as I can remember.)
It's just...so funny!

I try not to hate too much. Everyone has a different opinion on what makes a good game to them. Unfortunately, it seems like not everyone seems to realize that.

I guess I'm the "Half finished on release, day-one patch, on-disc DLC, Deathmatch wedged-in, always on DRM, throwaway campaign, yearly repackaging, brown world, chest high wall hugging, regenerating health, two weapon limit, woman objectifying bromance" hater.

Was literally about to say this. Almost word for word. (spooky) Seems to me the OP is just angry that not everyone is lauding MW3 as "teh geretess gaem EVAR!" A game of which the OP clearly has a fervent, biased love for.

I wonder if the OP has considered that some of us hate COD because, to us, it's bland, boring, mediocre, cliched, ugly to look at, practically plays itself (dat auto-aim), has terrible writing, fairly weak dialog, immense imbalances in the multiplayer, an obnoxious online community, ridiculously overpriced DLC, and/or is basically a repackaged version of the previous game with a sixty dollar price tag.

Or something like that. I don't know. Just speakin' for me-self here.

But really, just get over it. The game is selling like crazy, so why do you care, Zombie, if there are people who genuinely don't like it? Why do you need everyone else to like the game? Is it not possible for you to like the game if others don't? Do you need some kind of mass affirmation for you to enjoy it? Would you not like COD if it wasn't as popular? I don't understand. Is it that hard to believe that not everyone shares your opinion?

If any of these apply, then I think you need to reassess your position on the series before you start trying to call out your much maligned "haters".

Cynical snob. There's so much crap out there and the only way it can possibly good is if it pleases me directly. The popular vote doesn't matter because most people are sheep.

This is a very good topic, and you make a lot of great points. However,

LEARN GRAMMAR AND SPELLING! Then, more people would take you more seriously. I still agree with everything you said. You're a smart one!

I beat you to it, read up a few posts. :]

I sound most like the cynical snob, which makes sense because I am actually very cynical in real life. I don't disregard war games fully but I don't like multiplayer and I do prefer experience giving games.

I'm typically anywhere between 1 through 3, with the occasional 5 blended into 2. Honestly, I'd classify myself as the "Uneducated" Hater. Basically, I don't own any current systems (I know, it's becoming harder and harder for even myself to believe) so I haven't had a chance to really try any recent games, see the advances with my own two eyes. Thus, everything I learn comes from word of mouth, various articles and forums like this one bashing various topics, games, and people.

Now, be that as it may, I'm not so uneducated that I immediately take everything put in front of me at face value. Similar to the concept of "Innocent until Proven Guilty" I'm always driven to the side that makes the more compelling argument. If the Pro side can adequately state why something is good, I'll join them, but if the Con side can make an equally intelligent and ultimately better proposal for why it sucks, I'll pick up a sign and start protesting the game alongside them.

Oh, I'm most certainly the troll.

In a virtual world where people are simultaneously expecting enraging comments and stiff personal resolve, there are a special few who learn the ability to bypass even the strongest sense of internet Stoicism.

Trolling is a art.

So, if you dislike anything you're a hater? I agree! Because opinions don't exist, and people just try to act cool.

I'm not at all sure.

i generally thing 'games where better' cause 'back when' the big name titles just seem to have more polish then the big games now that cost 1000 fold to make.

>.> guess cynical snob/golden, since i tend to view multiplayer as cancer dragging things down and I'm not wholly convinced (still) 3D is better then 2D

No, seriously. I can never have enough ellipses for this.

Only the most ignorant and oblivious person on the internet (see: someone's grandmother) wouldn't notice the amount of massive fucking rage against the series. In every single thread, you have nearly half the posters calling it the worst series of all time, and-

Hell, look at the user score on Metacritic [http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3]. Don't even try to say that every single one of those negative ratings wasn't influenced by all the other zero bombs.

You bring up personal preference. I absolutely hate fighting games, and never want to play another for the rest of my life, but I'd give what I played of the new Mortal Kombat a 7-8/10. "Liking different things" doesn't make people go from "eh, the formula's getting pretty old" to "WORST GAME EVER EVERYONE AT ACTIVISION SHOULD BE FIRED". What makes that happen is other people.

Bandwagons are a fact, mob mentality and all that, and CoD has the biggest hatewagon most of us have ever seen.
