And no I'm not talking about prohibition. I'm talking about a courageous and perhaps foolish experiment I'm going to undertake. Next Week I will say everything I think. This thread here is to remind me and also perhaps if there are any tips I should know before I do this experiment or even attempt to dissuade me.

My advice, make sure one of your early thoughts is "This is a bad idea and I shouldn't do this. I'm going to stop now."

I honestly think that might help. I think it's cool that you wanna try something like this, but humans have self control for a reason. When you don't use it, people end up hating you.

Bring along a notepad and pen to make a tally of how many times women slap you for blurting out how attractive they look, and a separate one for how many women slap you for saying how unattractive they are, and see which is greater at the end of the week!

Also, if you just stayed indoors the whole of next week and played videogames speaking your thoughts over Xbox live no one would ever suspect you were doing an experiment. You'd blend right in.

Please video this. Is there anything you're going to keep absolutely off-limits for saying out loud?

Whelp. Good luck.

They say honesty is the best policy, but honesty without courtesy will just leave you looking like a massive jerk. I guess that's what everyone here is queueing up to see.

I just watched an episode of House where the storyline followed a patient who involuntary spoke everything he thought.

Season five, The Social Contract if you're interested.

We build social courtesies for a reason, people don't want to hear that you think they look fat. They don't want to hear that you've been thinking about sleeping with them.

I pride myself on my honesty and bluntness - but even I know the limits and the benefits of keeping certain things locked away.

Not to mention, I can't imagine those you know will appreciate being an 'experiment' - you toying with their emotions just for your own amusement.

Additionally, don't go out of your social circle for the week. Guarantee you'll end in a fight or arrested otherwise.

I cannot video tape this but I will document my week on this thread. Also does anyone have possibly a better name for this little week or experiment.

I think a good name would be "Well in hindsight that was a bad idea week".

If you do go through with this, I hope you are quite skilled at speaking under your breath.

Maybe... just start with one day? Then decide if a week is a good idea?
Protip: make sure you don't have to make a good impression on anyone that day.

That is actually really good advice. If my first day is horrible then I will just end it there.
