Maybe a Picture of this Race please?Trivun said:Here's a nice obscure one for you. In the Three Worlds Cycle (fantasy literature), you have the Whelm, previously known as the Ghashad. They're an entire race (human, yes, but a separate race of humans, just as we have Semites, Slovaks, Slavs, etc.) who are literally born to serve. That's the entire reason for their existence, though they may have other talents they've always had a master, and they can't even remember their history before their first master. They operate as the main servants and soldiers of Rulke (the apparent villain of the first cycle, who later turns out to be pretty decent compared to some of the so-called protagonists), and when he's banished to another realm they go into hiding as they have no master to serve. They're brought out of hiding by Rulke's archenemy, Yggur, who renames them the Whelm and makes them his terror-guard, only for them to renounce Yggur and serve Rulke again when he returns from his banishment.
(by the way, not really spoilers there, as all this happens in the first book of an eleven-book cycle...)
No pictures, I'm afraid, unless Deviant Art has any fan art of them, reason being that there are no illustrations or artwork in the books and the covers are all landscapes or abstract art designed around a theme or artifact in the relevant book. However, I can give a brief description. They're humans, generally tall and very lanky, sometimes to the point of looking near-starved. They have pale or grey skin, and wear very drab clothes, and their skin feels cold and rubbery - they happen to come from the frozen lands in the south of the world. They also carry weapons, jagged swords that look more like a sawfish nose rather than an actual sword.SweetShark said:Maybe a Picture of this Race please?Trivun said:Here's a nice obscure one for you. Specifically, in terms of of the Sonic video games, the robots that are scattered across the various levels with each one encompassing an animal after they're destroyed... I'm sure some of them have <link=http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Badnik>specific names, but since you're too busy going to the end of the level "as fast as you can", it doesn't matter unless you either care about the lore and/or you're reading the comics/watching the early 90's Sonic the Hedgehog TV series, I think...SweetShark said:More specific for Eggman's Robots?FPLOON said:The Koopas/Goombas in the Mario franchise?
Eggman's robots in the Sonic franchise?
The Krimzon Guard in both Jak 2 and Jak 3?
The shadows in the Persona series?
Gru's Minions from Despicable Me?
I think some of my other choices were said already...
Also I think the Shadows in the recent Persona games, aren't exactly minions per say.
No, no. I already knew these armies.KyuubiNoKitsune-Hime said:Tyranids, [http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Tyranids] Necrons, [http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Necrons] the Imperial Guard [http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Guard] and Space Marines [http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Space_Marine] are all basically minions from Warhammer 40KSweetShark said:Can you be more specific with the Tyranids, Necrons and Emperor Armies?Silentpony said:Literally every single Tyranid below the Nord Queens.
Necron Warriors.
Every human below the Emperor of Mankind
OH! Minions, the literal ones from Evil Genius, which is a highly underrated game.
Like for example the Zerglings from Zerg's Army.
This remind me I must put the Droids from Star Wars.Dr. Thrax said:
Also the Masari Disciple, again from UAW:EA is another example, but there is no good picture of one, sadly.![]()
These are the baseline infantry units for the 3 factions in the game, the Ohm Bots fit most because their role is generally that of fodder to keep fire off of your stronger units.
EDIT:
I'd noticed you added the Affinity, and remembered that in 2 you're able to fight Infernals as well as the Celestials, and the Hideous are basically Inferno's version of Affinity.![]()
