Well, Fire Daedra, I'd say that you'd managed to misread my post.

However, feminists do not misread Othello, and, arguably, nor do the rabidly pro-Labradorians.

And, since you are essentially smacking my feeble, mortal frame with a class-action lawsuit (by represent "Humanity"--whoever they are), I would like to inform you and Humanity that I'm used to people recognising when I'm playing everything up to a ridiculous level. I appreciate, however, that the internet never did manage to convey a healthy flailing of limbs well. No, not well at all.

And my friend, patience is a virtue. You have to keep ahead of my mighty perfection however you can. :)
I am well ahead of your "mighty" perfection as you are yet to disprove my previous post. You claimed that you shall but have yet to follow through with your promise. I am still waiting GEMS. I am still waiting to be disproved.

I believe that you cannot disprove me and that your responses have just been simple and I must admit, poorly thought out, attempts to delay me. You where checkmated in the first turn GEMS yet you continue to play the game.

I think we all went through a little bit of a stage like this when we were teens. You know, you get to that age, say about 15 and you start thinking you know everything and being a dick to everybody. The world is cold and meaningless and you want to destroy it.
Then you meet girls who like you, grow up a bit and before you know it you want a well paying job so you can buy a big TV to go with that games system you have. You discover some of the great things in the world and you get on with it.
Does it really come across as me being a smartass troll? It's not the image I was intending, but I really don't mind rolling with it. You know, if only becuase I'm an insecure teen, pretending to be a sociopath, sitting in my mother's basement, jacking off to animated girls with huge salad-bowl doe-eyes.

And no, I don't want to destroy the world. The world is quite fine how it is, it just dislikes me. But this is Kafka, son. Imagine if you were Neo, fighting Smith. Except what if Smith didn't look like Smith. What if there was no danger. Just an impression, a faint inkling of a shade that something wants to destroy you. An invisible cloud, squatting in the heavens, watching you like a vulture. Perhaps even smirking... or was it you smirking? Perhaps you are one in the same? Perhaps it is inside you? Oh God, get it out, get it out. It is me, it is you. Or are you me? Where do we begin and end?
Is that it? Your scared of the voice in your head that might hate you? Your brain has a slight off-programing and it scares you so much you talk about madness as an escape?
Then start by calming down, talking to strangers in a polite and non-condescending manner, and maybe we will all get along.
But please grow out of talking like your life experience is so great that you can call us "mortals playing a pointless game of death".
We all die, in the meantime, get a life. With enough effort it can be pretty kick arse.

I am fed up with the world, because it is fed up with me.

Every day, I wake up, and bits of my head are missing. Now, they're taking quickslivers of the world away with them.

Now, if Hamlet has taught us anything, it is that there can be no peace, either in life, or in death. Rather, the possibility that there is life beyond death is impossible to ignore (why else could there be so many Christians?). Suddenly, death is no longer an escape from life, it is a gamble for a better life.

This leads me to believe that the only fate I could tolerate is absolute madness. Morally speaking, then, is it wrong for someone to assist my descent into absolute and unflinching psychosis?

Euthanasia is murder in the eyes of the law, and in the eyes of that massless, indefinite shadow-fog that defines and limits morality for us. But should someone, with my permission, drive me insane, would this be murder? Would it be wrong?

Perhaps your entertaining me is assistance? Perhaps a response would be... criminal.
The world isn't fed up with you, it doesn't care.

If you follow the theory that every action taken by man is inherently selfish, that all things, however noble in appearance are simply to pleasure the self. Then you will understand the madness we all suffer.

No matter how insane we think the world is, that is only the surface we can see. Beneath those ripples of madness lies a deeper pool of desire and loathing for ourselves and others of our species. Why, simply because we do not understand, we have no purpose but to survive.

That is not enough, hence we subconsciously choose ignorance or madness to deal with it. Or find a slender line between the two.

Gems (for that seems to have become the acronym now assigned to you), you evidently have a better vocabulary than some of your friends, this has evidently led you to the conclusion that you are some kind of philosopher. You are deluded. Stop being such an Emo and get a freakin' life dude. Don't think that you are in any way special because you're depressed. I have known plenty of kids like you in my time and I will tell you what I tell all the others: Go out and READ a PROPER PHILOSOPHER like Nietzsche, Baudrillard, Camus, Sartre, John Gray or Milan Kundera. Suddenly you will discover (if you even begin to understand these texts) that your sense of alienation and vacuous personality are neither unique or in any way correct.

Your dismissal of AlmightyJoe, just for daring to question your ill-informed point of view rather than confirm it (which is what you really seek here, confirmation and celebration of your delusions), is proof of your arrogance and willful ignorance.

And your misuse of Kafka's name to make yourself look clever ("this is Kafka...neo fighting agent smith") demonstrates that you either have not read any of Kafka's novels, or you failed to understand them and only serves to infuriate those who HAVE read and understood his work.

Wannabe Emos like you, GMES, with your self-imposed misery, give people like me (a clinically diagnosed manic-depressive with a genuine interest in cultural theory) a bad name. Will you kindly F*ck Off back to whatever over-comfortable upper-middle-class suburb spawned you and go get EDUCATED before you ever dare to open your silver-spoon-fed mouth and spew pop-philosophy ever again. Either that or turn on the Xbox mummy and daddy gave you for xmas and pretend that you never found this forum.

Ellisia has summed up human existence well enough in the above post, case closed. The only further purpose this thread holds is for putting you (GMES the EMO) in your place.

Aww... is the lil fella (or gal) sick of life on this big rock? Deal with it. Off yourself if you can't and spare those you encounter the pain of dealing with your whining.
Now. To your question, nah.. I don't thing that helping someone hurt or kill themselves should be a crime. So, neither should helping them alter their mental state. We have whole institutions dedicated to helping people alter their natural mental state.
The question is really, what is insanity? If a person is what society calls insane, aren't they just in the mental state that is natural for them? Isn't that their sanity? Should we be altering that, or just acceping them as they are? Well, unless they happen to be dangerous to the rest of us. Then locking them up is really pre-emptive defence of the masses. To sum, if we change a person from their natural mental state.. their individual sane-ness, aren't we making them insane? As it is an accepted practice to correct differently sane individuals to become more able to function, I think that making you insane would be just dandy.
Another question to pose is: If you are having trouble with the world.. indeed, you seem to hate it.. doesn't that already classify you as mentally imbalanced so far as the mental health world is concerned? If so, congradulations! You have achieved your goal of insanity simply by adopting societies idea of mental health! All without our help.
So there. I played along. 'Cause it was fun. Oh, and to the above posters who were saying that GEMS (It has way more of a ring than GMES..) only posts up bile to get a rise from us... Yeah... Probably.. and guess what... it worked.
Bravo, dude(ette?)...bravo.

As is my wont, my friend. As is my wont.

No, I have an equally vast vocabulary/RhymeZone/com/thesaurus to my friends. This has led you to conclude that I have used this fact to conclude that I am some sort of ultimate genius/philosopher. At this stage, you're just putting words in my mouth, and I feel entirely disinclined to read the rest of your post.

This actually hurts my feelings on a slightly serious level.

But it's OK, since I'm an Emo kid (as non-conforming as can be), and my existence is completely meaningless to any of you.

Where's Haliwali. This seriously needs to degrade into another epic battle. Seriously. This guy gets his jollies pretending he's better than everyone. Last time a troll showed up, we fought back, why do we sit so passively?
Because I'm no troll?

Right, and my avatar wasn't done in photoshop 5 and is based on American McGee's Alice.
It wasn't? Oh, my.

But congratulations on your artwork. It really captures the sketchy, delusional nature of American McGee's natural extension of the nonsensical adventures of Alice.

Pascal's bet, or something, my dear friend.

If there is a God, and you don't believe, then you go to hell.

If there is a God, and you do believe (and assumedly secure a palce in heaven through whatever ritual your religion requires), you go to heaven.

If there is a God, and you're undecided, then you go to hell.

The odds are therefore stacked against you if you do not believe; and if you do believe, then suicide is murder, and you cannot absolve yourself of murder. So you go to hell.
The flaw with Pascal's wager is that it assumes God doesn't care about a particular religion, just that you believe. However, major faiths such as Christianity and Islam essentially say that their's is the only path to God and all others go through Hellfire & Brimstone Junction.

So, the odds are not stacked against unbelievers, their stacked against everyone. With the current diversity of religions, what are the odds that someone actually got it right?

We have been listening, you just talk bollocks in an uptight manner mixed with a superiority complex. I've been civil and patient with you up until now. You can't not make sense then criticize everyone else for not understanding. So to some up- piss off. I'm sick of your attitude in this post you rude little boy.
