It's astounding how few people read the OP before posting. I went threw this entire thread just shaking my head in disappointment. lrn2rd

I'll go with Mafia 2 like some others here. It's not a baaaad game per say. The graphics are nice, the setting is great, the gameplay is solid, but it's just average everywhere else. The game has no side quests so it's basically A to B with no chance to do something else. Having different things to do besides the story is essential if your game is open world like this, if you don't whats the point of making it a sandbox when the game could have just been level based.

Haze on PS3.

It was fine, there was an attempt at story, it wasn't bad looking, it had decent gameplay elements which were unique and I hear the vehicles weren't too bad.

No one I know of loves it.

Troll reported. If you're not a troll, I'd suggest having a look at some GOTY awards for last year and reading the OP.
Didn't read the original post
Sorry
Halo is average to me
That's just my opinion
Had I have read what the topics creator had written I would never have written what I did.
That's cool, I understand what you mean, I think it's waaaaaaaaay over rated. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game; I just don't think it deserves some of the acclaim it receives.

But yeah, as the OP said, I think the thread is more about "general consensus" average than "personal preference" average.

Tron Evolution.
It was fun.
It wasn't great.
The cutscenes took theirselves far too seriously, the light-cycle races were just pretty versions of Tux Race, the tanks were cool but failed to recognise the concept of "mouse play", there were a few dodgy fixed camera-angle moments, combat was uninspiring and cool.

Played the whole way through thinking "hm :)".

Warhammer40k DoW II.
I played Dow II and Retribution (the stand alone expansion) and I tell you the first levels of boths games are incredibly boring but it gets a lot better a soon as you start leveling up and gearing up your squads.

Back on topic, one of the most mediocre game I played is Darksiders...
It wasn't that bad but the one button combat never got me interested enough to keep playing.

- Dark Sector (the one with the glaive)
I keep coming back to this. Dark Sector was so mediocre a game that I still despise it to this day. I mean honestly, how on earth does anyone manage to make decapitations uninteresting?
This, "Dark Sector"... Daaark sectoor, even the name is uninteresting.
The game is the very definition of average, apart from the opening act, it was just plain boring.
But the again, it didn't do anything wrong.
Graphics are not bad, just mediocre. Art style is boring, yet it looks kind of original, kind of...(If that makes sense)
There is a large variety of enemies, but they are almost all uninteresting.
The combat works well, but it's too repetitive.
And the merchant is the east-european brother of the merchant from RE4.

A perfect average game would be the worst kind of games, since it´s not the bottom of the bottom or top of the top so no one would remember it.

And no, I do not remember such a game and most likely all games being mentioned aren't "the most average game" either since you clearly remember it.

I don't get why you would even want to talk about this. Isn't the whole point of "average" that it's basically mediocre? Nothing of note, nothing to discuss? Who wants to be known as average? Would any game developer ever want their game to be known as "average"? I feel like "average" has a very negative connotation because it's non-committal, just... eh. So a whole thread purposely avoiding subjects that come down on either the side of extremely terrible or extremely awesome seems like a complete waste of everyone's time.

Well, let's take a look at my game collection and find something average... It's really difficult to find something just... Average... I guess I'd have to go with the trend of labeling Prototype as average. I mean, well, it was a fun murderfest, it just didn't hold my attention.

I was also getting Dead Island soon and, well, looking at what I've seen of it, it might fit the category. Although I am partial to co op shooters just to have fun with friends.
