Haha yeah, actually I loved the music in it...what a difficult game.
frikin slippy, so happy whenever he died.
OT Twilight Princess I thought was visually stunning in terms of graphics. Okami was cool in terms of artistic style.

Bioshock, the entire game looked like some gorgeous, shimmering work of art. Not to mention, you know, it's fucking awesome.
Seconded.
Maybe it's just that I like Steampunk/Art Deco.
It took me forever to finish that game because I'd spend so much time staring at everything and basking in the atmosphere. Watching my brother play the beginning made me want to smack him - he didn't even look up in the very first room to read what the banner said!

Am I the only one who really appreciates the level of intricate detail going into the maps
of Team Fortress? Hydro is one of the best looking things I have ever seen. It's just annoying all the cool stuff is blocked off.

Duke Nukem...

*like you didn't shit bricks when you saw its gfx for the first time*
I shat bricks when I saw DN3D's graphics.

In 2004.

(well, I was looking at DOS games at the time, got sensitised to DooM's graphics, played Duke Nukem and was surprised at... well, how much better it was)
Not at all. I'm consistently amazed at TF2's art. It has as much style as substance.

And sure, I shat brix when I bought Duke 3D. I couldn't even begin to tell you how much time I poured into that game and it's very intuitive level editor.

I agree 100% with Mirror's Edge looking the best, closely followed by Crysis. BioShock and Quake 4 were also nice as well.

Okami is very pretty. Geez, I need to finish that game.

Emotionally beautiful, Mass Effect was the first game that took my something like ten minutes to make a decision, so that wins.

Assassin's Creed (I haven't played 2 yet)
Get to some of the higher view points, it looks amazing.

Always quite liked the original Assassins Creed, the views from some of the particularly high vantage points where amazing, the cathedral in Acre for example had a stunning view.

And from a nostalgia point of view, I think Rainbow Islands deserves an honorary mention.

The Forest and The Path from Tale of Tales are both beautiful, although The Forest is a rather silly game. Can't explain it exactly, and it's certainly not the most advanced engine, but something about how the Forest looks, and the characters too, is just awesome. Ive appreciated art in many games, but those two are the only ones where Ive taken a step back and gone, "Damn that's gorgeous"

That new James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is pretty good looking. Not the best, though.

Bioshock. Its beautiful in a wabi-sabi way. Watching water leak from a cracked skylight onto the floor of an art deco dystopia is breathtaking.
