Other amazing songs that can choke me up or make my eyes go wet is Into the West (or whatever its called) from the third Lotr movie and Dinosauren og månen (The Dinosaur and the Moon, but you really need to understand the lyrics to appreciate this song its fantastic) by Knutsen & Ludvigsen. Its so great I'll try to write a translation, but the original is by far the best, and the rhymes disappear in the translation.
This song made me cry when I was a kid and it still can tear me up.

En dinosaurus går på jorden,
en liten en på fire tonn.
Den strever med å følge moren.
Hvorfor må hun løpe sånn?

Den går i vannet og forsvinner.
Månen ser den før den dør.
Og kloden faller mens den spinner.
Tiden trekker for sitt slør.

To hundre millioner år.

To hundre millioner år,
bevare meg som tiden går.

Men månen er den samme,
raketten setter dit sin kos
og brenner oljen til eksos.
Månen er den samme,
rakettens motor drives av vår venn.
Som takk for hjelpen kommer dinosauren
opp til himmelen.

A dinosaurus walks the earth
A small one on four tons
Its trying hard to keep up with its mother
Why does she move so fast

It walks into the water and disappears
The moon sees it before it dies
The earth is falling while its spinning
Time is donning its veil

Two hundred million years
Oh dear me how time flies by

But the moon is the same
even if rockets go up there
and brings something back here.
The moon is the same
some goes up there, and some does not
But I dont think I'm in a hurry to
go there
if you ask me

The dinosaur we know
is transformed slowly and truely
in the depths of the Earth untill it turns
into oil at the end

Two hundred million years
Oh dear me how time flies by

But the moon is the same
The rocket aims upwards
and burns the oil to exhaust
The moon is the same
the rockets engine is powered by our friend
As thanks for the help the dinosaur gets
into heaven

Its a lyrical disgrace by me, but at least the ones that dont know my language can get the gist of the song.
Its available on spotify if you search for Dinosauren.

Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber.

Hands fucking down.

The Choral Version [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIUxwEJ-GXI] is also quite nice.

Within Temptation - Our Farewell

Nightwish - Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan

Maybe it's just the sound of the Finnish lyrics and my inability to understand them but the second one has always struck me as especially beautiful. Then again, all their songs were touching when Tarja was the vocalist.

Stickerbush Symphony from soundtrack of Donkey Kong Country 2. That song is just...hypnotically relaxing.

Also, "As the World Falls Down" by David Bowie.

I'd post links and/or videos but I'm lazy.

To me, it has to be this song. Always puts me at ease, when ever I hear it.

I have that on my iPod.
I first learned about it from the intro to Gunslinger Girls.

And for me:
