I was like "wait so im in the future but i play in the past and im not an assassin im a *head explodes*"
I guess you two have a low reading age then? The plot was extremely simple.
... ya the plot was sort of difficult to explain to people, but its not really hard to grasp at all when you play it from the beginning.
??? umm? no

get a season or two of stargate in ya, everythign scifi will just kinda come together, and assassins creed was probibly the most simple scifi storyline i have ever seen

you are desmond a bartender in the future (dont know how far)
desmond grew up in an assassin sanctuary
desmond was kidnapped by abstergo, a company hevaly funded (and probibly run) by the templars
the templars are trying to find something
abstergo has a machine that analizes, records, and displays ones memories

back to the assassins

the assassins have been at war with the templars since the crusades
desmond has an ancestor closly involved in that time period
abstergo uses desmonds memories from that time period to find what they were looking for

Tekken has a pretty confusing story :p

Cuz of all the multiple endings you have to wait till the next game to find out what actually happens :p

Did you watch the long cutscenes. Because if not you can not claim it is confusing for something you skipped.

MGS, Resident Evil, and Legacy of Kain.
Wait, Wait... Wha? Resident Evil? Really? I can tell you the timeline without using google or wiki if you'd like starting from the 60s.

ehhh, it's more that i just dont have the patience to explain it. Only a couple of my friends actually follow anything remotely related to scifi. And for the record Stargate isn't really that difficult to follow.

exactly, if you get some stargate in you you learn the basics of most scifi techno quirks, like slingshotting around a black hole, robotic hive mind control over humans, the replicators, just to start
