The best de-railed threads are the ones wherein a troll comes in spewing ignorance and hate and the responders maturely and eloquently respond, only for the troll to come back at them with numerous obscenity-filled rants, and then two or more posters make comedic mince-meat of the troll. It's the most fun when the troll gets reported after threatening people, and it seems to happen more often on threads relating to women or female gamers.
My thread about bunk beds got a lot of people talking about sex. It was really weird, and I'm not sure what happened there.

Recently, I came across a thread entitled "why do you hate South America?" It was apparently intended to mock another thread called "why do you hate America." One poster responded with something like "penis fish and near-instantaneous death malaria. A troll came on and attempted to take this poster to task, calling him a "doink doorknob" and telling him that "That's Africa." Which it was not. Poster sourced his material, troll tried sourcing an impertinent wikipedia page and continuing his attempts at insults, and a few of us just had fun with him. At one point someone came on to jokingly chide them both and told them to get back on topic: "dick fish." Troll then tried to rearrange the quotes of both the aforementioned poster and myself, failed, and inadvertently referred to HIMSELF as a cock-gobbler. Then he got banned.
