The Conduit. That was the game that made me go "screw this, I'm buying a 360".

To be fair, the controls were decent, but the game itself was painfully uninventive and boring, and the multiplayer was buggy with terrible pacing whenever I could even get it to work.

And the graphics just weren't that great. I mean, I know it's a Wii game, but when you specifically say that it's going to look as good as something on a more powerful system, then damnit, it better look that good!

Dawn of War 2.

After playing the first game to Hell and back, I bought the second game only to find out that they GOT RID OF EVERYTHING but still played as an RTS made it one of the biggest disappointments in my entire gaming life.

Final Fantasy VII, X, XII, XIII
Half-Life
Bioshock
Fable
Borderlands

The list goes longer so I'll just leave it at these.

NHL 2005.

For one reason and one reason only: They didn't have create-a-player! Seriously, Create-a-Player is a sports game staple! It pissed me right the hell off! Good game though.

The only one I had a really bad time with was the Mass Effect games. They were good and all, but it just wasn't enough. Story, no matter how alright it was, did not make up for gameplay in the slightest.

Guild Wars didn't turn out as I'd though it would, but beyond tat I've been pretty satisfied with all my games.

..Found GTAIV and Prototype too depressing, though. Gameplay was solid, so story is my only complaint.

Final Fantasy XIII.

Which isn't to say I thought it would be good. Far from it, it looked fairly terrible... sort of like some J-Pop acid. But I honestly didn't understand until I agreed at the behest of a friend with evidently no taste to play it. I'd never played a game that was provably awful before, but I can no longer make that statement. I was actually disappointed after the fact because I was thinking how I'd once loved the series and was often able to overlook a lot of it's flaws until X. Even then, I'd assumed my tastes had just gone in different directions. But looking at FFXIII, I can see how the series has just become the personification of bad game design.

Fable, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Morrowind, BioShock, Deus Ex, GTA SA, Thief 3 and far too many more. For so much disappointment I have learned to not to be hyped ever...

Before I got a ps3 and started playing more shooters, I actually liked that game. I went back and played it recently and t's just way behind it's time.

Anyway, for me that would be The Force Unleashed for Wii. It looked soooo awesome! But then I got it. Then I beat it 4 days later (This was before I could beat games fast you see.) The controls were unresponsive and pathetic, the graphics were bad even for the wii's standards. The only saving grace was the plot. Oh, and guess how good the duel mode was.

Dragon Age, as I normally love Bioware games but I didn't care for that one. Also, I think Fallout New Vegas is the most recent one I've been very dissapointed in. I waited for it 5 months, waiting while other games that didn't interest me much came out, and then it was buggy as hell and almost the same to Fallout 3 in most ways. I'm not saying I don't enjoy it, but it leaves me more then a bit dissapointed in it.

And then there's almost every 'super-hyped' game that I played a little after it came out.

Pokemon snap I worked hard as hell hustling lemonade for days to get the cash to buy it. I believe I beat it in a few hours. The whole core game not just some lame "going for highscores" nonsense. I had played it for a couple hours at my dads friends house with their kids not knowing that the game was all but over, Needless to say I did all the starter levels with ease and before I knew it bam game over.

Modern Warfare 2 was by far the biggest disappointment for me. It was good at first, but then everyone discovered what combinations of perks and weapons were overpowered and the game just got really annoying.

X-Blades.

I'd explain, but I fear I'd have to strangle myself if I actually start talking about it.

Most disappointing? God the list is so long. One I'd have to say is nearish the top is Halo 2. Played it for the first time about a year ago. Since it had been out forever by that point and everyone was practically masturbating with it saying it was so awesome I was thinking I was going to be blown away....

Turned out to be just another generic FPS game. The only good FPS to come out since Quake II has been Half-Life 2.
