I will admit that while a lot of them are trash, I have greatly enjoyed a lot of movies in the "torture porn" genere, though they do tend to gloss over a lot of the details in a lot of them which of course defeats the purpose.
To be honest the movie described above, doesn't really surprise me much. Chances are the movie sounds more shocking than it actually is due to the realities of film making and ratings and so on. I'll also say that I think there are several movies that already equal it, someone already mentioned "The Human Centipede" but then there are also movies like "Hangar" or even Peter Jackson's movies ("Dead-Alive", "Meet The Freebles", "Bad Taste"). Truthfully it surprises me the makers of this movie are even trying to make excuses for it.
At any rate the most horrifying and disgusting movie ever made is described below, sadly I can say it exists, and whatever you do, you REALLY don't want to click the links at the bottom of this link (if they haven't been disabled). The file/movie is also not that hard to find, I did once I'll just say there are not many things that have ever made me do a double take, never mind gag. While I suppose in the last 4 years this might have been outdone, "regular" film-making will never do it, even bizzare stuff like "The Human Centipede".

You don't watch films like that for "enjoyment" of the action going on on-screen, but for the enjoyment of the fact that the film might have a really profound impact on you emotionally (even though in a severely uncomfortable manner).Wadders said:

It's not "pretty" to watch, but it's not meant to be "pretty" either. Art doesn't have to be "pretty". In fact, some art has to be ugly to get the point across...
It's let down by it's budget and unbelievable prosthetic effects. It's still worth watching if you're into that sort of thing though. Shocksploitation as documentary on historic atrocity. I think it packs most of it's punch in depicting human vivisection that actually occurred IRL, but it is very cheesy.Hlain said:
