No, that was the term Allmusic used for it in their review of that album, which I assumed to be correct. I have since found out (in the intervening 8 months since I posted that comment) that it's actually called Shoegaze metal or ambient metal.
Jesu get a lot of sub-genres hung on them. I've seen them listed as drone, sludge, shoegaze, ambient metal, post-metal and post-rock. Most of their stuff, for my money, is shoegaze or post-rock. A argument can be made for ambient metal but for most of their releases it's way more ambient than metal.

For my drone/sludge fix of Broadrick genius there's Greymachine.

I'd say Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton. When you understand why he wrote the song it makes you come very close to crying the only thing keeping you back is masculinity pride.

Gotta give Poets of the Fall some love this time around.

This song fucking kills me whenever I hear it, simply because the chorus is an unseen truth of life.

Written by Mike Portnoy about the death of his father. Intentionally musically references Rush as it was one of his father's favourite bands. Family-related grief music gets to me, I guess.

Huh, that someone else wrote perhaps Hero of War by Rise Against:

Always gets to me.
This 100%. Favorite band and great song. My girlfriend cried first time she heard it cause her mom and brother are in the navy.

I cried the first time I heard it too. Probably because my brother's in the Marines.

Eh, most of JKB's stuff doesn't really follow any cogent genre pattern (and remains the better for it) so I've sort of avoided describing any of his stuff with genres anymore, you just get into too many arguments.
True enough, the man does like to evolve and experiment with his music. Which would be why most of his bands and projects get so many genres and subgenres hung on them.

there is some great music in here.

Anything by The Eagles is great, but this is my favourite song by them.
