First: Assassins Creed 2 Black Edition which cost me $150 Australian
Second: would be Halo Reach limited edition (not legendary) which came in at $130 Australian
Third: MW2 which was $120 Australian

This post has made me kinda depressed because now I realise if I hadn't spent all this money on games I could've bought a sweet guitar or something like that.

Rock Band 2, the Special Edition set with all the instruments. I think it was around $180 back in August 2009 or whatever.

Eh, I think it was worth it. I've spent far, far too many hours perfecting my drumming. Too bad my guitar crapped out on me.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Paid full price of 60 dollars. Then spent 2 years smacking myself in the face with a brick for doing so. Maybe 3 dollars would have been fair, but no more than $3.20.

Had to import Fire Prowrestling D for the Dreamcast. Cost of game + boot disc + special memory card with translation file + import tax and duties brought it up to about $200 after everything. But damn, I played that game for YEARS.

EDIT: Runners up are the Prestige Editions of Call of Duty: Modern This Is A Crappy Game And A Waste Of 150$ 2 And Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Blops was worth it. MW2 was worth it only for Call of Duty: Classic 1 month ahead of release, the NVGs and the art booklet.

Blops... well, Zombies and an RCXD. Hate the killstreak, Love the car.

World of Warcraft. I've spent in excess of four hundred dollars on it. That said, that was over a period of several years, and it's still way cheaper than being up to date with every hot new game.

Unreal Tournament 3 for the Xbox 360 cost me $110 AUD. God dam games in Australia are over priced. Ever since i started using steam, i save about 20% on most the games.

I'd say Street Fighter 4, if you count all peripherals.

That is a first an arcade stick for about 80 bucks (got a refund though since it was delivered broken), then a tournament edition stick a' 120$... and oh yeah, and I bought my PS3 solely for that game too.

Pre-ordered Halo:3 Legendary Edition.... 250 NZD.

Why? I hear you exclaim boldly... because it was the only edition left that I could preorder, I didn't even know I got a novelty Spartan Head with it. In retrospect... I would not do it again.

"Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition".

I think it was somewhere near $100. Maybe a little bit more.

The most expensive game I've bought in recent memory is the BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Fan Edition at £55, which was only available straight from the publisher. Basically it was the limited edition (which was fairly substantial to begin with), but also included an extra art card, mouse mat and a Noel nendoroid figurine.
