Title says it all, people. What's the most you ever paid for a game? Mine would be Super Smash Brothers Melee, for $69.99, but I'm sure some people on here have paid more for games. Spill it.
It's a recent one, Killzone 3 Heighast edition pre-ordered (now playing), $250. Worth every penny :)

Well, I've never payed more than $60 or $70 on a single game, even the ones I had for the 360 were a bit more cheaper than they usually were. Maybe the only game I paid more than $60 was Guild Wars, as I bough the Standard edition for around $20, later I bought the Trilogy Edition for around $60 or $50 and I got the Eye of The North expansion for around $40.

That game alone costed me like $120 (more or less), and guess what?, it was totally worth it.

Totally looking forward to Guild Wars 2 =)

Around $70 for a black label copy of FF7. Thankfully, I have little interest in most current games, but I collect older games that I either don't have or was stupid enough to sell when I owned. Obviously, when I get enough disposable income to pay for really rare titles like Earthbound or Chrono Trigger (on the SNES), that cap will go up.

$75, normal start price for a PC game where I live, I have only ones paid this price. It was because I had a gift card that only lasted two more days and the game was the only thing in the store that I wanted.

Call of Duty: Black Ops for $59.99 USD on launch night (a very rare occurrence for me, since I usually wait months or years after launch before I buy a game).

Unlike what some on these very forums will say, I thought it was worth it overall.
Finally, someone who agrees. Most of the escapists here will bash the game like there's no tomorrow. If you don't like it, don't play it. Call of Duty has a massive fan base for a reason. Also, just because some like COD doesn't mean they can't appreciate more than "SHOOTING AND EXPLOSIONS, LOL" Micro rant over.

I'm one of the unfortunate bastards who bought Steel Battalion, I got it for £120. Yes pounds, approximatly 220 dollars at the time.

Pity it was shit!

As for the most expensive game that I don't TOTALLY regret buying, I think that would be the Halo: Reach special edition. The one with the black box and Halsay's Diary, I didn't go for the full figuine set. Definatly worth it, I read the diary before I played the game, and given how much I was looking foreward to Reach that's saying something!

It's a bit of a toss-up between League of Legends and WoW, with WoW coming in the forefront.

I'm one of those idiots on WoW with more money than sense, so I ended up buying a spectral tiger card for $600. That plus all the subscription fees and a fairly small (sub $50) amount spent on buying gold means I sank a lot of money into it.

That said, I am still an idiot with more money than sense, so I always wind up buying new heroes and skins and crap on LoL that I really don't need but look cool. I'm not sure exactly how much I've spent, but it has to be upwards of $200.

I've never spent more than $60 buying just a game though, it's always in the little add-ons and whatnot that I go crazy with.

World of Warcraft. Easily over 500$ including all the monthly subs and little doodads like the sparkly horse and character transfers and junk. Do I regret it? Yea. Do I want to quit? Yes. Can I quit? No. Why? Because once you've spent that much money on something just throwing it away feels like such a waste. I just know that any new "pet store" items will not be bought and any character transfers will be the free kind.

Factoring in the opportunity cost of the forgone earnings during the summer of 2005, I would say Morrowind... probably in the $3,000 - $3,500 range.

Probably WoW or sims 3...shut up I'm allowed.

I remember final fantasy 7 being some sort of ridiculous price 50 or 60 pounds? my rich uncle bought it for my birthday in the end I think.

I've bought a few $100 collector's editions (Batman and Starcraft come to mind first).

But other than that? The most expensive game I bought was Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the Playstation 2. Got it off eBay for somewhere around $90 bucks.

I spent 3 months unlocking every single character, every alternate color, and every artwork.

Guess what got announced 1 week after I unlocked everything? MvC2 for PSN and Xbox Live. With everything unlocked from the start.

Guess what my reaction was.

FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU...

Prototype. The first (and last) game I bought at full retail price.

$60 is just too much for a game.

World of Warcraft - Received as a birthday present.
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade - $40
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - $40
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - $40

Plus the monthly fees, I've spent far more on World of Warcraft than any other game in my collection.

Bar none.

Over $1000? That is absolutely insane. Nobody can say you aren't committed, though.
