Usually when i make a forum, or look at one or write in one its to get others opinions but today my freinds and i were debating how fucked up Vista was. On that note i started thinking about comp crashes, which lead to game crashes, which made me cry about the time in pokemon red for the GB Color i lost my non cheated level 100 Charzard to the glitch with the Missingno on the island. you remeber the one dont you. I also thought of a glitch i had when playing Oblivion, which is preventing me from getting Head of the Theive's Guild, unlocking that last achivment and beating the game. ........... Sorry those dots were my tears. :*(

- Anyway i'd like to hear your tragic crash stories and ongoing situations within a Video Game, Console or PC.

Is it the one with the ring that won't leave your inventory? Because I never got rid of it but somehow I still completed the quest.

The ring didnt spawn in the box and i tried on different days weeks and months. I even folowed her home saw her interact with the box then looked in and nothing

MIne would have to be with Diablo 2 I had been playing for about three weeks strait a few years back. And I had gottne my NEcro up around 70, and boom, power goes out cause some drunk mother fucker hits the pole. Now normally this is not a problem, however I have a tendency to forget to save a game.

I lost forty levels. forty fucking levels, because some drunk asshole knocked out the power for three minutes. I creied, I threw my keyboard at the wall, I broke my moniter, with the TV. The TV didnt work as well after that. AFter that I stoppedplaying for a while. And i stopped using a computer for a while, as my moniter was well shattered.

The one good thing that came of that was that I had made my moniter "all pretty" with stickers and pink sharpie. with my new moniter it was a pretty, sleek black, and silver. I broke that one too, now I use a mac, because well if I break this it's more expencive to replace. as the moniter acts as a tower. it's a prety white kinda glowy.

Several years ago, I had a Pokemon Gold Version file that I had worked on for months that had just about every pokemon you could get without trading and several level 100s. One day, I started up my game and guess what? My Gameboy became defective and erased the data of any cartridge you tried to play on it. I told my parents about it and that I needed a new Gameboy, but they didn't believe me and made me test to see if it wasn't a problem with the cartridge by playing a different game on it. Yep, I was proven correct at the cost of another of the very few games that I owned. I was about eight years old at the time, so as you could probably imagine, I was pretty pissed off.

Apart from the "Death of a Friend" thread (and thatt goddam hippy computer is still BSOD'ding)...

I was writing a program for the ZX81, back in the early 80's. After seven hours typing, I reached across to save the game onto tape, and clipped the 16k ram pack. Bzzzzt. All gone.

That sort of protected me from when my 1000 hour character in COH just wasn't fun anymore.

Mega Man 2 for the NES. At least I think it was Mega Man 2. It was the one where you have to have Bubbles to beat Dr. Willy. Not only didn't I have any left, but the game froze and I lost everything! I was so upset, I almost wrote a letter to Nintendo.

Also, when I traded in my Core 360 system for the Elite 360, I lost about 150 hours of Oblivion because I didn't get the transfer cable. There may still be a way for me to get that data back since I still have the original hard drive, but I don't know how to.

One really nasty one for me was when I spent about half an hour killing this fucking Final Guard in Dawn of Sorrow over and over again, I finally got its soul, only to walk out of the room and immediately die from a damn Werewolf.

I didn't touch that game again for a LONG time.

I was playing through radiata stories

my PS2 scratched the shit out of it because it got jostled while the game was playing.

So I returned it with my warranty and got another copy of it.

That too got jostled and destroyed by my PS2.

So.

I traded in my old PS2 (I had a PS2 slim, but for some reason was using the older model, mainly because it was in a different room), for a new copy of Radiata Stories

Turned out

Radiata Stories sucked.

this happened to me twice on two different copies of god of war so either it's my machine or there's a bug that someone missed on release of the game.

during the final boss fight having gone through the first stage of the main fight and the part where you kill all the copies of yourself, the final part when you and Ares hit the swords together at the same time causing a quicktime event where you have to mash the O button repeatedly, while I was doing that the game suddenly freezes and I have to restart the entire freaking battle from the beginning, this happened everytime I got that quicktime event, I finished the game but I had to put it on easy mode to do it.

Playing Ninja Gaiden.

Was at the boss fight with Alma (A.K.A. Cheapest fucking boss fight ever put into any sort of video-game). Had her down to were one more hit would have finished her and my Xbox froze.

I was picking up bits of my controller for a day or so.

When I was playing Two Thrones on GameCube, I accidentally jumped into a pit. I kept falling, and falling...and falling...there was apparently no ground, and the death animation didn't trigger. I tried rewinding with the Sands of Time and I was JUST out of reach of the ledge. I then sat there for two minutes waiting for some kind of Game Over screen to appear, which it didn't. I had to reset the game and lose 45 minutes of progress.

I was going through Mass Effect on Insanity to get the achievement/gamer pic. I did EVERY PLANET except Feros. I went all the way into the facility, dealt with the Geth, then came all the way back. I saved in the elevator after riding it up.

BIG MISTAKE.

Now typically you are not capable of saving in elevators, but for some reason it worked this time. Well, I died coming around the corner by rushing and when I went to reload the game, I was in the elevator. Except the door was closed. And there was no way of opening it. And if I tried to go back down to the first floor, the game would infinitely be stuck at the loading screen.

I had to start all over. Out of spite, I did literally EVERY in-game quest that I could. Just as a fuck you to the game.

I bought a new memory card, and went a'renting to test the thing out. I got two games, one of them being Jak X.

Because of Jak X's auto-save problem, my brand new memory card became half-full of undeletable corrupted data.
