Read the lyrics and go nuts: http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=186

(But preferably, don't.)

Facing up to our own mortality can be quite therapeutic and life affirming, but I wouldn't wish to devote as much thought to gorey deaths as some folks clearly have.

Being the middle guy in a human centipede or heart attack during the best time of your life.

This thread is making me cringe.
Me too.

Even so, i'll bite. I guess mine would be anything that is slow, something you cannot stop, and, most of all, something that you know is going to end in death. Take that for many things I suppose: Cancer, Poisoning, Starvation. It doesn't matter.

At least most of this other horrible gruesome stuff people have put up here at least end somewhat quickly.

Well, at my old job we used to have an assistant manager that was so annoying that a popular 'game' we used to play at work was 'How do we kill him?'

Two 'winners' I remember were disembowelling by bowling ball, on the grounds that anything sharper would end it too quickly, and only the enventually jagged pieces of shattered bone would break the skin, and secondly...

He's tied by the wrists and slowly lowered feet first onto a huge orbital sander device, a rapidly rotating disc of sandpaper, except that the 'sandpaper' made from salt instead of sand.

The strange thing is, I don't think anyone there was particularly disturbed, but this guy just inspired such malevolent hatred, in making people do utterly pointless things when we were actually a great workforce who wanted to make our store succeed, that fantasising about murder and torture was seemingly very easy.

EDIT: Conventionally, I still fear drowning and fire more.

Or you give birth to a half-brontosaurus baby as a result of the above.

Probably death via brain vivisection. Essentially, you're given a local anesthetic to allow you to feel no pain as the top of your skull is removed, beautiful music and images play in front of you, then, over the course of several hours, a well-trained neurosurgeon removes pieces of your brain in sequence, beginning with high-order functions relating to the senses. Slowly the music looses its rhythm, beauty, and melody as you become tone-deaf, and then develop amusia, you watch as the beautiful images loose their color and vividness.

The surgeon continues to cut, removing more and more of your brain, but making sure to leave as much of your situational memories (Long term and short term) and higher reasoning skills intact. As you reach the end, you've lost your ability to speak and understand language, your ability to hear, see, smell, or feel anything, you've forgotten how to walk, to tie your shoes, tto use a fork and knife, or how to smile, you can no longer even wriggle in your restraints. All that's left is the parts of your mind that let you remember what you've lost, the reptilian, primitive core of your being, and the frontal sections that let you realize all the implications of what's happened to you, before finally the knife comes down, beginning to peel back layers of your reasoning one by one.

You feel yourself becoming less and less intelligent, your thoughts simplifying, loosing coherence. Eventually, you are reduced to nothing but a few neurons generating primal fear with memories of being something greater, before the surgeon makes the final cut, severing the medulla oblongata. Your heart and lungs stop instantly, and your remaining brain cells die over the course of several minutes, starved of oxygen.
..Have you by any chance watched Hannibal recently? The last victim has something done to him so, so similar.
Never watched it, serial killer movies aren't really my thing.
