The new Rocket Jumper from Team Fortress 2. It's a rocket launcher that does zero damage. I really have no idea why anyone would use it.

The grenades in Killing floor. It takes several seconds for them to blow and by that time i have already killed them all with my shotgun, Or the weapon i have.

Scoot's scattergun. There's no way it could possibly function in real life. It's another prime example of Valve's weapon designers never having actually fired a weapon before.
Neither could the soldiers rocket launcher, the medics syringe gun, the heavies minigun, the spys cloak, the scout bonk! drink, the FAN or the sentry

It's designed so you can practise on rocketjumps.

Casino Chips from Dead Rising 2.

I defy you to kill anything with those.

I would also say the Toy Lightsaber (is it saber or sabre?) from the first game if that didn't act as an incredibly effective nightlight and the fact that I've actually managed to kill with it.

THIS! I mean...ITS A KEY! A GIANT KEY!!
I don't know man, it doesn't seem any different then any other bludgeoning instrument. For impractical weapons I'm going to have to go with the dildo from San Andreas.
Yo dude why you gotta call out my favorite weapon!? You know how many hookers you can destroy with that!?!/

Gonna piss of the fanboys just for the Hell of it but here it goes.

The GunBlade

Anyone with a knowledge of guns and/or swords would know that this thing is about as useful as having Cait Sith in your party -_-. Can't aim it all too well and swinging it would just be awkward.

and I know somewhere Sephiroth might kill me for saying this but I have to.

His Sword, Masamune:

THIS SHIT HERE!! I highly doubt you could win an actual fight waving this big sucker around let alone try to carry it everywhere you go!!
I mean cmon!!! You expect me to believe that one of the most badass, momma's boy in all of the Universe uses such a silly tool!?

SEPHIROTH enters the thread followed by his Chorus

Sephiroth: "You have a problem with my Sword?

Me:".......Well I'm F**KED...AAAAAAAAGH"

"Damn"

Not to be confused with the Real Mega Buster.
REAL...MEGABUSTER!

OT:

Timed fuse explosives greater than 2-3 seconds in nearly any game.

I prefer my explosives to 'splode on contact, not 5-10 seconds later.
Awesome. You get bonus points for having Casshern in the video.

Just out of curiousity, did anyone ever take proficiency in hand-to-hand in Fallout 3/Oblivion?

I thought not.
I did. I OWNED. Seriously, you do an unreasonable amount of damage. Especially with sneak attacks.

I hate it when people say thought not in gaming terms. I normally have.

The Crossbow from Deus Ex.

I must be doing something wrong, because I have NEVER been able to get that piece of junk to work properly. It has always been far more efficient for me to knife, or hell, even sneak past the A.I rather than using it.
Really? That was among my three favorite and most used weapons of the game.

You just need to have a decent pistol level, the darts are physically simulated, so you have to account for the drop.

Tranquilizers will knock out human enemies and some of the augmented ones with one hit. You can just pick a high ground, where enemies cannot reach or hide within a blind-spot such as inside a vent or behind an object. Then wait for them to pass out. They won't alert their friends. Just fire and forget.

The regular darts do as much damage as a 10mm pistol and can be used to snipe in combination with a scope.

The flares set things on fire. Nice and crispy.

The Finger from Worms.

*Poke* 1 damage!
In the original Worms where there was the option for no time limit, my cousins and I loved to ninja rope across the map and poke our opponents to their deaths.

Sometimes the shotgun and dynamite were far too powerful and sent them to a safe landing instead of straight down.

Anyway as for impractical weapons I would go for Ivy's Snake Sword from Soul Calibur, and pretty much any Final Fantasy weapon. I'm not just talking gun blades but also those ridiculous giant swords that are bigger than the wielder who are really insecure about something.

A few weapons you had to cheat to get in Prince of Persia: Two Thrones.
The swordfish, the phone, and the squeeky hammer.

Also a few in Dead Rising; the watergun and the toy mega buster.

The Chinese Pistol in Fallout 3.

Has anyone ever used that piece of junk?
No, the .32 cal pistol is worse. Much worse. Maxes out at 4 DMG not the 5 DMG that the Chinese pistol has.

But that's not the worst, the worst is the Plasma Pistol from Halo. That thing is "shite on a crusty role" to quote Yahtzee out of context.
Actually it's pretty good to stop vehicles.
