The Chinese Pistol in Fallout 3.

Has anyone ever used that piece of junk?
No, the .32 cal pistol is worse. Much worse. Maxes out at 4 DMG not the 5 DMG that the Chinese pistol has.

But that's not the worst, the worst is the Plasma Pistol from Halo. That thing is "shite on a crusty role" to quote Yahtzee out of context.
ya.....the ability to stop vehicles dead in their tracks is pretty useless....oh wait

At level 30 I had high enough stats to pick my weapons purely on what looked cool. The chinese pistol won.

Experimental MIRV in Fallout 3.
i never found a practical situation to use it in. I could be swarmed in a hallway, but I can't use it there because tiny space+MIRV=Death for everyone(including me)

The knife in BFBC2, I stab and it dosent work half the time.
Yes. I remember once stabbing a guy who was about to fire a CG at me. I stabbed him, got the stab noise and a spray of blood, but the CG firing action kept going! As soon and it fired he died, but it also killed me. He got the kill!! :#

The Leviathan's deployed weapon in UT3. I recently played it again and it takes way too long to charge up.

Well if you duel wield it with a magmum then you get the noob instant kill delight.

OT: The Desert Eagle in MW2. The sight is miss alligned, is a two hit kill only at extremely close range, maxing out at a four hit kill, and has terrible recoil. The other "power pistol" (pistols that kill in two hits without stopping power), the Magmum has much milder recoil, clear sights, a three hit kill maximum, and is unlocked much earlier. The one advantage the Deagle has over the Magmum being the last pistol you get? ONE. EXTRA. BULLET.

It's only for taking out the core. The 4 manned turrets are for protection. if you're trying to use it against people who aren't in slow ground vehicles or the core, you're kind of wasting time.

yea,the most impractical weapon ever.I can't really put a finger on mine but arguably the carbine from halo. The needle rifle is better than this and when I was playing halo 3 I RARELY used it.
I wouldn't call the Covenant carbine impractical. It was actually incredibly effective if you knew what you were doing with it.

When I think of "impractical" weapons I think of overdesigned or cumbersome weapons that are too hard to use to get a decent payoff, or don't do enough damage for the amount of effort that goes into using them, or are just too bloody hard to get ahold of.

The Focus Rifle from Halo Reach is impractical for me... then again, I'm clearly doing something wrong myself. Whenever it's used against me I die in two seconds. when I use it against an enemy it barely brings down their shields before overheating. :(

Even just games that look too comically oversized or ridiculous to effectively work would fit the bill of impracticality, but then we're talking pretty much every protagonist's sword from every Final Fantasy game ever.

Those bug things in the original Half-Life.
Those things attack you if you try to use them! What was the point of them?
They are Niche, but extremely useful. If you can't judge how long it will take them to eliminate the bad guy, and make sure they explode before turning on you, then just use them when you are on higher ground. A few crates will do. Then, they repeatedly attack and distract enemies that are behind cover, when you don't even know their location. Drop a handful out of a grate while your in a ventilation shaft above the ground, and when you drop down a few seconds later, everything will be dead.

Also, they were called Snarks.

The crossbow from Half Life 2. Sure, its awesome and it shoots superheated steel bolts at people, but think about how hard it would be to maintain a jury-rigged contraption!
