Not really a boss, but more like the game itself.

InFamous's final boss. Only a few more hits left and... Freeze. So. Much. Rage!

Playing Kingdom Hearts long before I had played any other final fantasies, and trying out the platinum match.

My first question was who the guy with the ridiculously long sword was, second question was how did I die so quickly

My first run through Final Fantasy X, I never used Kimahri after getting him. The Ronso fight on Gagazet, that was painful. I managed to get by it on about the 20th try thanks to some luck. In truth, I should have been forced to go back to the beginning there. There was no way Kimahri should have managed that fight.

Thankfully, they didn't make me solo anything with Auron, who also never made it into my active party. Could have done with a Rikku solo session. By the time I left the Calm Lands, she had gone through everyone's grid.

Not a boss but in dragon age 2 in the fade where the demons cause your party to betray you.
I was playing as a mage and i brought Isabella, Fenris and Anders and i went to the pride demon first.

That made Fenris betray me and use the scythe ability and one-shot my entire party!

In Armored Core: Last Raven I defeated another AC at the end of a really hard mission with only 5 health left, he walks up to me as he starts to die and explodes in my face, which only inflicts around 5-6 damage...

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

The final boss of Blade Kitten was very frustrating, because I hadn't worked out how I was supposed to beat it. Really easy when you work out how.

You do know that Biran and Yenke scale to Kimahri's stats, right? 'Cause they do.

Might have been a WoW fight. There were a good few hilarious errors, but it might have been one of the few times a paladin (never me, always a subordinate) accidentally cast Divine Intervention on the main tank instead of Lay on Hands.

Tank would always end up looking around thinking "Why am I the one DI'd?" then have to un-DI and get smooshed by the boss (unless the fight entailed a long pull, ofc)
Those fights are always fun. I was the tank back when I played WoW, and there were a couple of paladins who had the incredibly silly habit of DI'ing me at random during boss fights.

I think my favorite instance was on Gruul. We were well on our way to our first ever kill, and I think the #2 or 3 kill on the server. Less than 20% hp is left on the fucker and I get DI'd. Then his dumb ass proceeds to run around the room murdering everyone.

Definitely WoW; Princess Theradras. (level 40-ish)

Me and two friends (druid, rogue, shaman) our tank was so bad the druid had to combat rez him right near the beginning of the fight, only for him to die shortly after. We kept alive for a while using evasion etc. and sharing aggro but the shaman and rogue (me) died. This left my friend, a feral druid, with the only means of wipe-recovery on cooldown and the boss almost dead (the shaman had managed to run out of Ankhs). He ran. He kited the ***** (as she has been known to us since) fantastically. Quick reactions and a brain helped him live almost long enough to revive one of us and finish off the boss, but of course just as his cooldown was about to hit zero she used her knockback and sent him falling off of the ledge into the water a hundered feet below. Where there was another boss.

We have not been back there on any characters since.

I still remember the first time I ever fought against Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors 4.

*Lu Bu appears, cutscene plays showing soldiers cared of him*

Pffft, who is this guy? I can take him easily.

*blink*

Game Over

*opens eyes*

Wait, what?

Then about 10 tries later I eventually defated him.

Not really a main boss but Dr Salvador from Resi 4 . Getting chainsaw one-shotted by him was pretty intense. In terms of actual bosses, Deathbeard (?) from Golden Sun took me about a month to beat as he kept smashing the shit out of my party and is the one I remember the most.

Ninja gaiden. First enemy.

The game told me to toughen up and select the normal setting hehe.
And then I completed it months and months later on master ninja.

No game or boss owns me :V

Deadbeard's a pain without a solid strategy. Spamming the aura Djinn makes him a cakewalk though. One of my most memorable ones was in The Lost Age against the Serpent. He's normally pretty easy but the first time I went up against him I forgot all about the lights that weaken him. He's recovering a couple thousand health per turn and I'm sitting here going "And I kill this thing HOW?!"

probably how in dead space 2

The final boss is the image of your dead girlfriend in your own mind. If she wins you take your harpoon gun in the real world and blow your brains out.

Probably in L4D, where the tank encounter theme started playing and 3 seconds later a car came hurtling down the street and killed all 4 survivors in one go. We didn't even get a chance to SEE the tank.
