Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Oh hey, I can steal things from the shop. Neat.
Whenever I go back, however...
The shopkeeper zaps me with a laser and changes my name permanently to "THIEF"! It's that kind of little thing that convinces you the game devs love their job, and also provides you with a half-a-dozen neuroses all of your own.
i heard about this before playing and decided i might as well cut out the middle man and name my self thief from the start

well any way when was playing okami and i used the cut ability on some person's bowl of rice. A few seconded later he pull out another one. i don't know why but i find it fun just to see there
reaction and then he pull out a new bowl while forgetting he ever lost one earlier.

i also heard you could use your wind on the sleepy bear to make him role of the cliff but i have yet to try it. in fact i like most if not all character have a reaction when you use your powers near them or on them

Probing Uranus in Mass Effect 2.

No, seriously.
Really? I was more impressed that you could actually flush the toilet in the commanders bathroom in ME2.
This. I giggled (for some weird reason) when I found out my FemShep had her own washroom. And then I was all excited about the fish tank. I bought all these fish, and I go away on a few missions - come back, and they are dead. You have to feed them, or talk Kelly Chambers into doing it for you.

Basically, the whole Captains Quarters part of Mass Effect 2 had me excited.

In Red Alert 3 there's one level as the Empire of the Rising Sun where you attack Hollywood, California. Near where your base starts off there's a large building that you can attack that's barely in the way, but it's noticeable. It's actually the EALA headquarters, ie: the company that developed the game.

Clicking on it reveals that the space-time continuum could be irreparably damaged should harm come to the building. And destroying the building triggers one of your units to shout "Their ill-begotten products shall take the shelves no more!!"

I thought it was so awesome that I recorded it and made a YouTube video out of it to share:

yeah I noticed that but my all time fav is on the Allied mission at Mount Rush More (its a joke) when if u get 5 tanks killed by the eye lasers a guy yells "THE GOGGLES THEY DO NOTHING!!!!"

nearly pooped with laughter

I noticed in Fallout 3 that you can tell whether a skeleton is male or female by the width of the pelvis. I seriously didn't expect that detail to have been accounted for.

Two for me...

2st, and less mundane, was the way arrows stayed lodged in your victims in Oblivion. Slightly morbid, but I loved making a long shot, walking over to the corpse and finding the arrow lodged in their neck or ear. Delightful.

1st prize goes to CoD4 though. In the TV station you assault in the first mission as 1st force recon, when you fire a few rounds through the double-paned windows (the ones the tanks roll past), the bulletholes are clean and crisp to look through, while the glass is slightly dirtier. I think that is just so classy.

Allot of small things in VTM:B, its what make the game worth playing despite its horrid gamplay mechanics. Like how on the serial killer quest you can throw that guy?s head thru a basket ball hoop and a cheering noise plays.
Also the bathroom in ME2, It took me 3 playthroughs to find that and I also spent far to much time playing with the garbage disposal. -____-.

I think one of my favourites is the pancake effect from the Gunner's slam in MNC. They didn't need to put in the pancake at all, but I love it and every time I see it happen I am quite amused.

Minecraft. When arrows had a proper parabolic arc. Was finally happy to find a game that did archery right.

The lighting effects in Dead Space 2. I can literally spend half an hour playing around with light sources and seeing how they play across the environment and Isaac's suit. Also, there's those little pink squeaky mice you can find scattered throughout the game, which squeak whenever you step on them or make them bump into something with kinesis, and may in fact be the most delightful things I've ever encountered in my life.
Agreed with the lighting thing. Early in the game when you're fighting around the washing machines and the lights go out, Isaac's helmet lights shine on the walls.

My reaction:

Everything about Two Worlds

It was just so bad...and easy...but mostly bad. I couldn't dismount my horse (that was stuck in a rock), so I got killed by some dragon. I went in search of my hose, only to discover a lost temple which unlocked an achievement. Not bad..

Theres one level in Metro 2033 where you are first introduced to ghosts, theres a few cool things in the level.

One that blew my mind though was the ghost train passing you, it was like a 3D silhouette with two headlights. I just found that the effect was impressive, I hadn't really anything like it. The fact that you could only see it if your light was on it only made it cooler.
What blew my mind in that game was finding that guy who was getting high behind some crates and if you take his pipe you can smoke it and all of your controls will be randomly reassigned every few seconds just like playing on the WII...<.<

Saints Row 2 ...

You can give your character tattoos and piercings. Then make her character wear a bra, and an undershirt, and an overshirt (buttoned up or down or tucked in?), and a coat, and combine necklaces with different pendants, and wear a watch, and gloves, and socks, and shoes, and pants, and a belt, and hats, and glasses.

All of which you can customise colours and styles for.

I swear I've spent more hours shopping in that game than on the missions.

It's not really inane or minor, but it sounds like it.

I didn't really play Morrowind, not for real, until last year. My last new computer was purchased in 2003, and it wasn't up to the task, and my funds weren't up to upgrading it. So I played it.

Blown the fuck away by the environments. The people, of course, were terrible, but the dynamic sky, the stars, the rising and setting sun...

The kicker: I'd seen a friend play it back in 2003, and was just as blown away now as I was then.

In Bioshock (Tenenbaum's safe house) how one of the girls gets upset if you eat her candy bar. :3

Also, the dialogue for the doctors in AC: Brotherhood: "My 43% survival ratio is the highest in ALL of Roma!"

Along with the fact that even the doctors ducked and shook if you broke out into a fight near their stall. They'd never run, but if you got close to them afterward, they'd cower even more.

Seeing your legs and feet in Left 4 Dead. Loved that feature. Then they got rid of it in Left 4 Dead 2. I raged.

That's because someone shot himself in the foot and sued Valve.
