I can very easily play these songs in front of my mother.
She's pretty cool, probably the closest person to me in my family... I only got to know her as a person recently, and she is very similar to me when it comes to a lot of things. Once you stop looking at your parent as some kind of figure of authority (granted, I never really did that) and look at them as if they're your peers, there are plenty of cool things you might find out. Considering the average age of people on this boards, (in 20s?)your parents have probably seen some rather epic periods in history of music and cultures/subcultures. I mean, if you're 20 now, and your parents are in their late 40s/50s, and you live in USA or UK, there's a very good chance they at least were aware if not outright participated in all those music movements in the 70s and 80s. Punk, metal, disco, everything.
On topic, a good portion of the music I listen have what you might call "insensitive, offensive and downright hideous lyrics", and i love it. Fuck political correctness and all that.
Also, recently I've been listening to a lot of music by Wednesday 13 and Murderdolls (practically the same people).
It's not as good in quality as most of my usual music, but the way they try to be really depraved really amuses me, and I love some of their songs. I also listened to Marylin Manson, a long time ago, and I like some of his early stuff although I really disagree with him on some of his opinions... He seems to be too positive and socially minded at times, he should embrace his more destructive side and say "fuck off" to spirituality instead of embracing it. Which is why I like his older stuff. Although he's still okay, and a pretty smart guy.
I'm the motherfucking wrench
Thrown in the gears
Everything was great 'til I got here
I'm a bad guy inside and out
Put your faith in me and I'll spit it out
And I admit I'm a basketcase
With lipstick smeared across my face
Cocked and loaded, can't shut me up
Blame it on the music to cover it up
(chorus)
Hey stupid don't suck your thumb
Take your diaper off and put your helmet on
Destroy 'til there is no more
Put your helmet on, lets go to war
Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go
Some things are better left unsaid,
But I'd like to see a bullet in your head
Charge the damage to my card
And I'll see you on the graveyard boulevard.
Have a boot to the face, it's on me
Hard to talk shit with no fucking teeth
Spit 'em out, spit 'em out all in a row
So pucker up sucker, here's one for the road
(chorus)
(Lead: Tripp)
Shut your face and open your eyes
Your whole fucking life was a lie
And everything that you stood for
Just had it's ass kicked out the door
Well I am rubber and you are glue
I'll beat the motherfucking shit out of you
You're pro-life and I'm pro-death
And I'll throw you from the tree
And break your fucking neck
Also, various punk and metal bands are my favorites, and we all know the kind of lyrics many of these bands have. One of my favorites is Anti-Nowhere League with gems like
While these songs aren't exactly overly offensive, I don't think the people described in the opening post would really appreciate it. So it still counts!
And yes, I played the latter 2 and most of my hard rock and metal with my mother in the same room. She's not a big fan of metal, unfortunately, but she doesn't mind. She's more of a disco/ rock person.
High School MUsical Cast:-
"If you wanna be cool
Follow one simple rule
Don't mess with the flow, no no
Stick to the status quo"
The hell, may not be hideous or offensive, but its the most objectional section of lyrics I know, trying to stop very infuential children being individuals and just be like everyone else, oh hell no, bad Disney, bad *hits nose with newspaper*
I hate the band, but I adore this song. It's so morbid and awesome.
I like how near the end, he says "We'll live forever, we'll live forever" and it sounds like "Let the Reverend live forever" which is neat, because I'm fairly certain he was the one who recently died.
David Allan Coe's "Nothing Sacred" and "Underground Album" spring to mind, as does Johnny Rebel and Skrewdriver. Search them yourselves, no links from me.
A magnet?s magnetic field either attracts or repels certain metals, as well as other magnets. A magnet has two ends that are referred to as poles. One pole is called north and the other one is referred to as south. To attract magnets to each other, you have to place opposite ends of two magnets near each other. Placing like ends of two magnets near each other causes the opposite to occur; the two magnets repel each other.
Interestingly, the Earth has a natural, magnetic field at is core. If you take a look at a compass, you will notice that one side is marked ?N? and faces toward the Earth?s northern magnetic pole. As such, this part of the compass is referred to as the North-seeking pole. However, the Earth?s north magnetic pole should not be confused with its North Pole. The North Pole is located hundreds of miles away from the north-seeking pole.
