The most original game you have ever seen

Apparently yes it's original, but it isn't on PC so I haven't played it. But I didn't really understand the game fully. Could you say why?

You play as a breeze.

You can't get more original.

In Pathologic you play as a healer in a dying city and in The Void you play a a dead person which tries to restore color to the Void which the color is life. There's more to it than that, but anyways...

the first thing that popped in to my head was the first black and white. Great game, but lacked replay value. The second one squandered all of the first games potential, basically turning it into a city planner

I was about to post 'Okami', but that game reeks so much of Legend of Zelda game-play that I almost can't do it with a straight face.

Otherwise, I'm not entirely sure if you can find a completely original game. My best bet would be Ace Combat IV. Flight sim, but with a story element. An actual good one, too!

Ace Combat 5, despite the pretentious element, was a lot better for me because it actually had characters. It also helped that AC5's rolling wasn't super-sensitive.

True, dat. The only problem I had with Ace Combat 5 was the exceeding number of Air-to-Ground missions, and those are just...frankly, kinda boring. Not to mention the rescue missions that were patience-gratingly difficult at times. But yeah, AC5 was definitely the better of the series if you're looking at story elements, no doubt about that.

Hard to answer this really, as older games that came up with something original tend to be copied to death by newer games.

Story wise, if you know nothing about it ahead of time, Planescape Torment.

Biggest blindside from an old game in terms of plot would be Ecco The Dolphin.

Pure story I would suggest Longest Journey, some bits are obvious but mostly it is deeply involving.

Edit: Aquaria is really good too, maybe not plot wise but it is essentially Ecco The Dolphin mixed with Metroid style exploration.

A good list I know alot of these games. original but retro, but love the name drops.

your right it had alot of good elements and was really involving, the second game felt like Sim city combined with Age of Mythology. just my opinion. The game was fun but story negligible, granted a game were your god as like a real god has yes to be made.

to funny granted mirrors edge is a gem in the way it is different. Vagrant Story Never heard of it it seems as if this list is great for new games to test out.

Don't get much more unique in this games plot, characters, setting and humour. Not to mention the very strong gameplay. An all round great game, shame it didn't do as well as it could.

Portal is really original, shadow of the colossus.

Both of these. I've never seen such intricate physics-based puzzles. With Shadow of the Colossus, while each individual gameplay feature has been done before, the way they're put together and the concept of it all makes it rather unique in comparison to any other game.
