i think the crowbar from the half life series is the most original. i mean, what other game has a logo that looks like a crude version of an arm holding a crowbar...?

While the crowbar is awesome, the logo is in-fact the symbol for Lambda, ie wavelength, and the first game was set at the Lambda Complex/Black Mesa facility.

It's not very inventive, but the idea of it really appealed to me. The papercutter blades of Condemned. Pulling a rusty dull blade off of the devices we've used in offices and classrooms all of our lives, and then defend yourself with it is a really cool concept to me.
