I hope it includes the theatrical version. I've never been too keen on the extended edition.
I like a lot of the extra time we get to spend with the Deep Core crew... but I don't particularly care for the extended ending. Cameron's extended versions tend to be kind of a mixed bag. The only one of his movies that I think is genuinely better in the extended cut is Aliens, but I might be biased on that one.

His special edition releases usually come with both editions though, so I wouldn't be surprised if we got both versions.
I agree with you about the theatrical version. It's worth mentioning that the extended version is definitely worth a watch, but it's easy to see why a lot of the extra scenes were left on the cutting room floor.

And yeah, the ending is crap. 'We were going to destroy each and every human on this planet, but we won't cuz these two love eachother.' Fuck you aliens, coming to our planet and lecturing us!?
Weirdly, it also sorta changes Navy SEAL Lieutenant Coffey from a paranoid nutcase into a character that, in most other movies, would be viewed as the hero. Not to mention that it flips Bud into the role of villain for trying to stop Coffey. Those aliens fully intended to wipe us out if not for a last-moment change of heart, and Lt. Coffey was the only one actively trying to destroy them first.

For me that is definitely the original Hellraiser from 1987. I've seen that movie more times than I can count, so much so that I can predict almost every line in advance. :p The atmosphere is so thick that I'm absolutely mesmerized by it. I've seen this movie for the first time when I was like 10 or so and it had such a profound effect on me; constantly engaging and shaping my imagination. Growing up and (eventually) getting older only deepened my appreciation for this film. It's still a tradition for me to watch it atleast once a year, usually around fall.

As a side-note: Ashley Laurence still looks damn good for her age.

Yeah, holy shit I never even thought about that. Not to mention that this is how these aliens introduce themselves to the world population; With the threat of global annihilation. I'm sure America especially is going to be cool with that.
