In your opinion what is the most successful gaming company? That is a company you have rarely experience bad games from?

I'm personally leaning towards Double Fine Productions though they only have given out one game (though 100% good game vs. bad game ratio).

I also like Bioware they seem to be on the right track (though they don't have a perfect ratio imo).

Edited 14.feb: Either in gaming or financial success (developer or not).

The most financially successful gaming company has got to Blizzard. I don't care too much for them, though.

If you mean success in terms of quality games, I haven't the faintest idea. A lot of companies release really good games as well as mediocre and sometimes bad games. The first thing that comes to my mind is Valve. They seem to be consistent in unique and entertaining releases. The only thing they can be criticized for was being too slow on the release of Half Life 2, but that's ancient history now.

Success in terms of monetary earnings? EA/Activision.

Success in terms of games? Naughty Dog. Jak series and Uncharted are pretty awesome.

I used to be a Bungie fan, and they let me down, Halo 2 and 3 was crap.

I'm going for the people who made the Legacy of Kain series, while Blood Omen 2 was shit, the rest of the series was an absolute joy to play, and the story was amazing, it really made me think.

Bioware and Cryptic Studios are on my radar. Bioware for the quality of their games and Cryptic for their dedication to fan service (i.e., they listen to their fans and change their game accordingly, as they are proving with Champions Online).

oh god yeah, Halo 1 was fucking brilliant!, I used to play Marathon and I loved it, makes most people sick, but it was a breath of fresh air at the time, I loved working out the terminals in marathon, and Halo was amost as good .... it was the first game with a fully working physics engine, so in a fire fight you can throw a grenade just over the weapon you want to throw back towards you to pick up.

It is an amazing game! so is marathon !
Isound like a blithering idiot now.

I'd say Nintendo is the most successful gaming company, in terms of finances. No matter how badly they were losing console wars of the past, they've always managed to turn a profit. The fact that they're in first place doesn't really change anything; they're still probably the richest video game company.

That, and they're still making money in the U.S., even with the current economic crisis.

I think the title goes to Valve. Sure it had some major faults like the release date of HL2, or the firsts years of Steam. But now its like...No words to describe the awesomeness of Valve in these days.

Their games are awesome and their major franchises are all sucesses(Half Life series, Counter-Strike,Day of Defeat, Team Fortress and the most recent L4D). It has a great modding comunity surronding it(CS,DoD,TF,L4D all came from mods) wich keeps coming with new and interesting mods like Age of Chivarly,Dystopia,GoldenEye:Source, Battle Grounds(both the HL1 mod and Source version) and others.

Steam as cheap prizes, great discounts and its secuROM that works.

Also on Steam news they published the Half Life 2:Escape from City 17 short movie recognizing its awesomeness......And now I'll stop increasing Valve's ego...

Valve is made by fans for fans.Hurray for Fans!

In 2nd place Blizzard/Beteshda or good ol' Westwood.

Top pic... Blizzard. They make games for multiple platforms and all of their games have been successful. A close second would be Relic. Relic is responsible for Homeworld, Company of Heroes, Dawn of War.

Bottom... Bioware/Obsidian. Best game they made was NWN & KotOR. The rest of their games have been so buggy.

The most successful company is the one with the highest profit margin.

My personal favorite companies are EA and Ubisoft. (Note - he said companies, not developers if he means developers then Bioware, EA sports,Valve etc..)

Financially, Blizzard or EA but I don't like either of them.

Personally whenever I've loaded up a game, and it's by THQ, I know I'm in for a treat. Company of Heroes and The Punisher jump right into my mind.

For me I would have to say Blizzard, because Diablo II + LoD + WoW have taken up the majority of my total gaming time.

Bioware is second, because they made KoToR1, and I have a man crush on Revan.

I have to give Konami some props, Suikoden 1 & 2 were basically awesome as awesome can be. Then Square + Enix, because Star Ocean, and Seikan Densetsu, and Final Fantasy.
