The eagle vision in Assassin's Creed.

Never used it once.
Yep, totally useless.

Apparently people playing RSV2 online think that the cover button is completley useless because everyone runs around tossing 'nades and shooting the place up like it's Halo, which is why I like Terrorist Hunt and the campaign much better.

I have a logitech G11 keyboard. It's main feature besides glowing blue is macro keys.
LOTS of macro keys. and 3 settings to record EVEN MORE marco keys.
All 18 of them (Including the 3 settings, 54 of them) have proven nothing but useless to me.
I would probably need to play MMORPGs or RTSes to really get use out of them, I suppose.

The white and black buttons on the old Xbox controllers. Horribly placed and used them only in Halo one lol
Only to be replaced by LB and RB.
They had a use, but I agree, they weren't in a functional position.

OT: The PS2 had a few uses for L3/R3 (i.e GTA3) but were they ever used on the PS1? They were there, you could play GTA3 with an original DualShock, I just can't recall a PS1 game ever using them...

Uhm, most useless button, eh?
Other than blinking in Alone in the Dark, I'd say the back button on the 360 controller, no idea what that does.
You guys never played Bioshock eh? The back button is used to open the map screen.
Really? Shit. Jesus motherfucking Christ. Maybe if the game had fucking TOLD me that, I wouldn't have gotten stuck within the first twelve minutes, mentally filed the game under "don't even bother," and returned it to GameStop the next year for five dollars.

Thanks a lot, whoever developed BioShock.

The select button on the PS2 DualShock controller served very little useful purpose, and how many games made after about 2003 let you use the "analog" button to turn off the analog controls?

The Select Button on PS2.

It was rare that any game ever gave it a purpose.
Inventory in Silent Hill :)

Your reminded me! L3 and R3 on ps2... yeah they exist.
In gta 3 R3 was used to honk the horn. There was one mission you had to use it. It took me forever to figure out where it was when the game told me to press it.

Probably any button in a fighting game that taunts, I'll taunt the guy once I've killed him.
the only usefull time was in war of the monsters you go into super saian or what ever where your hands glow orange and silver and you are invincible.

F1-F12? maybes i just have stubby hands... can't think of a game where i've used them, just too far away... though im sure there's several where they're default bound to something or other

Have you ever played TF2?
You should try it, it uses the back button

But for me the analog button on the PS2 controller
never quite knew what it did

any button in infamous that wasn't the rockets, sniping, the insane lightning storm move, or the sissy basic lightning bolt... or maybe I just over-used the sissy lightning bolt... nothing quite beats being an electric mini-gun

Fallout 3 used it for the wait feature. Play fallout 3 great game.
Oh yeah. Forgot about the wait feature in Fallout 3. But I don't really use it often anyway.

I had a third party xbox controller back in the day, it had a turbo button. Not once did I ever use that, or need to use it.

Taunt Button: BlazBlue combos for Taokaka. I really wish I was kidding, but some of her best juggles include her shadowboxxing taunt.

D-Pad N64: Aside from lefty modes where the c-buttons and d-pad exchange use? Mischief Makers allowed movement only through the d-pad. The entire game didn't use the control stick.

Select: Usually used for your map. Mass Effect uses it for Grenades. Fallout 3 for time skip. MUA2 uses it to level up while everyone else fights stuff. Pretty useful little button.

Break Key: Use it to pause! Durr!

Most Useless Button Ever?: C Button for The Genesis. Anything it could do, other buttons did better.
