The most useless weapon in a game?

I'm going to say the wooden staff from Dark Messiah. It only does damage even comparable to any blade when you're using the force strike, and that's a 3 hit combo that most enemies can easily dodge and you can't move while doing it. A melee weapon in which the most only powerful attack is basically crippling you just long enough for any blackguard or orc to run up to you and stick their rusty swords up your butt.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of Worms: the cluster bomb.

Plasma pistol from Halo. Seriously, unless you want to go around a map shining like the freaking green lantern, it is useless. Utterly useless.
So in Halo 1 it didnt matter to you that it had the fastest rate of fire or a one shot shield discharg?
I mean the thing fired as fast as you could pull the triger. Add to that the fact that you can pick up a new one every few feet, you have the perfect.

OT: My most useless weapon has to be using any weapon in Oblivion......... spells just do everything so much better.

Any and every weapon except for the knife/Ghostbustersesque electric gun in Killzone 2. Although the absolute worst would have to have been the flamethrower. I thought it would do something other than get me killed by guys on fire. Or the hammer from God of War2 It swung to slow and the lack of dodge roll made you a sitting duck.

If your counting RTSs then the Imperial Guard's LazRifles from Dawn of War it takes billions of them to down 1 orc xD
Las**rifles. Plus, that's the idea, you NEED billions of them, but you're probably wrong. Do you have the latest patch? The patches made the game overbalanced. IG killing Spacemarines? Come on.

Prod off the edge of a cliff for a Worms 2 achievement. But I'd rather just punch, so I'll agree with you.
But then again, there is the kamikaze, which NEVER kills anyone.

EDIT: ooh, wait! The frying pan in Fable when you fail to get it right!

The Halo 3 pistol.

The Chinese Pistol and .32 from Fallout 3.

And the Pherapods in HL2. Sure, they're neat for assaulting Nova Prospekt, but after that they're useless.

Oh, and anything in Dead Space besides the original pistol.

The short sword from Assassin's Creed.

The only reason I ever used it was to use the throwing knives.
actaully the short sword was really good for counters so you could dispatch a group of enemies quite fast with it if you were good enough. plus i found the long sword to be too easy so i just got really good at countering with the hidden blade and instant killed everytime with counters lol.

The Pulse Rifle kicked arse. Get damage upgrades for it and it tears off limbs with like 2 shots and it has a 50 round clip or something. And if you can control the Ripper it can take out most enemies with one blade.

But a lot of guns were useless in that game. I never used anything other than those three guns.

yes but at what cost think about ammo effeciency the 32 bullets would much better be put to use in a hunting rifle :p. and 15 damage is rather bad my xianglung chinese assault rifle does 62 dmg a hit.
Damage shown in-game is "damage per second".
Also, that 15 damage is more than twice the original damage(6 IIRC).

For useless weapons, the knives in Fallout 3 are horrible. I actually do more damage with my fists than with a knife.
Because you have higher unarmed than melee?

Every skill is at 100 and I have 10 strength.

Unarmed is 1 or 2-hitting raiders, knives take up to 6 slashes. I have no perks that increase melee damage.

Vegas 2 had a lot of useless guns, but mini uzi in Cod4 takes the cake for me.
For me the mini uzi is usefull in cod 4 multiplayer for me the dragonav with its large upcoil is really ineffective.
Agreed, the Draganov (probably spelled that wrong) is basically the same as the M21 (a little more power) but with more recoil. I never see anyone use it. I only use it to get the challenges done before I unlock the .50 Cal.

Just about everything in Dead Rising.

Sure, there were some good weapons but almost everything breaks in 3 hits.
