$60.. the normal price. i don't buy special editions of games. it's a waste of money.
I dunno, that Skull Kid figure that came with Majora's Mask was wicked cool.
Still cost under 60 though.

A lot of special editions just come with an art book or soundtrack though, and you can just look that stuff up on the internet.

Not counting special editions probably $65. But if you are then probably $70.

I don't spend much on DLC.

Ha, yes... WoW for sure, like a lot of people. 9 years (roughly) times 12 months times 15 bucks is, what, $1620 right there. A couple of collector's editions, a couple of regular editions, that'd be, say, $250 (AU). Quite a few realm transfers (much respect to Blizz for refunding some of these years later when they introduced Australian servers), one or two faction changes, I'd say that'd add up to over AU$2000 at the very least.

For one single game? Maybe $120 for a rather rare PSX game that I probably got ripped off over anyway. Although now that I think about it, there were certain Mega Drive games that were massively expensive back in their day. My memory is hazy, but I'm sure I paid something like $140 for Streetfighter 2. Probably that had a lot to do with exchange rates during the 90s, but whatever, it surely wasn't cheap.

It's a tossup between pre-ordering star trek online with a lifetime sub (probably $300-400 total), And all the money I've spent on DLC for train simulator over the years.

The sim market is a little weird in that regard, and comparing it to gaming in general is a little unfair. (the people who point out for instance that 'all' the train simulator DLC on steam costs thousands of dollars combined, but forget that this is normal for simulators, and nobody is expected to buy it all, you pick and choose the stuff you yourself like)

Anyway, if I had to guess, that's also around the $400 mark by now...

Anyway, aside from that the list is rather short...
I rarely buy games at full price, let alone with tons if extras...

Fallout 3. Full price at retail (probably got it as a Christmas present) and I bought all of the DLC content packs at full price. I got the complimentary xbox dashboard background and everything. Really great times playing that game. If all DLC were as luscious as that stuff was, I'd happily buy them at a moment's notice.

Roughly 8 years spread across the 10 year span of WoW + vanity items... so a lot of money, plus multiple accounts. I've lost track but I think I still spent more on D&D, Warhammer, and Magic the Gathering. Its insane if I really think about how much money I've wasted on stuff, physical or digital...

Not counting WoW, the most I paid for a game was probably my brand new copy of Tekken 4 on PS2 for $109.99 before the Australian dollar got a bit stronger or the prices stabilized.

It's hard to calculate because I buy my shit in pesos and their worth is constantly fluctuating.
I can tell you the most I ever spent on a single game was 400 pesos, which roughly translates to $30 dollars. Not a whole lot to you, Adrian, but quite a bit of money in Thirdworldland. And that's not even launch money, that's paying for a game that's 1 or 2 years old.

For video games, probably the standard new price (39.99 plus tax) back in the PS2 days. At least, I think that was what I payed for Disgaea, Dragon Quest 8, etc. Was it worth it? For some of them, yes. Disgaea, sure. I put a lot of time into that game, and enjoyed much of it. For DQ8, not so much. I still beat it, but I was ready for it to be over long before it actually was.

Think I bought a game and it's season pass for about 180AUD combined, and this was when the dollar was AUD > USD.
And people say PC Gaming is expensive.

For the sake of argument, I'm counting the time my dad bought me Red Dead Redemption for $60 at Christmas. I got bored with it, so I sold it. Months later, I felt like playing it again, so I re-bought it for $30. I got sick of it again, so I sold it. A year later, I wanted to play it again, so I bought it a third time for $17. I got bored with it, but this time, I'm keeping it.

You know, I don't think I've ever bought a game for $60. I stopped playing in my late teens when I was broke, and now that I am an adult I just bought a PS3 so there are tons of games I still haven't played that I can get for cheap.

The one that sticks in my mind was I bought Dragon Age: Inquisition for about $40 and wow was that game shit. Really wish I hadn't bought it digitally so I could at least sell the disk and erase it from my mind forever. But no, it sits in my downloads folder and mocks me every time I scroll past it.

$60, but it's been a loooooong time since I paid that for a game. Most recently (as in the last few years) the most I've paid is around $35, although I have a sneaky suspicion that price will be topped if some of the doa5 dlc goes on sale on steam and I have a moment of weakness. It would have to be one hell of a sale, though.

I'm one of those people that waits for goty editions to go on sale.

I was trying to tally up the subscription fees for the MMOs I've played, when I saw someone above mention Magic cards, and I remembered that they're definitely my most expensive hobby by far. A while back I spent a year or two doing $10 FNM drafts every Friday, back when I was in high school and that was most of my allowance. College I managed to get through without spending too much because the format there was mostly EDH, but now that I'm actually making a little money I'll occasionally just buy a booster box, open some and use the rest for drafts&sealeds with friends. All told, I imagine I've easily spent a thousand dollars or more.

And I don't regret it. Plenty of fun has been gained through that money.

My partner and I spent about 200 on the collectors edition of Earthbound (the one with the game guide in the large box).

But as for non collectors sorta thing, Fallout 3 and New Vegas are the only games I bought every single DLC for as they came out...so I guess that. I'm the type to wait for things to go on sale because I'm perpetually broke.

I've have several of the £100 Assassin Creed's special editions, and I am likely to get that £130 Metal Gear Phantom Pain set (Kojima's last game deserves it).

I'll post representing the cheap-ass gamer. I don't do pre-orders, subscriptions, collectors editions and I tend to buy one the price of a game is under £20 pounds. I think this philosophy came about mainly from buying Final Fantasy X for about £40 when it was first out, based on the hype, and then hating it, but feeling like I had to complete it because I'd spent so much on it. Man, that game felt long at the time...

On that basis I'm probably going to guess that I've put more money into Street Fighter II arcade cabinets back in the day than on any modern game, but I wouldn't like to estimate how much.
