Speed Racer, I got about 10 minutes in and said forget it. In general movies based on Animes/Cartoons seem to fail pretty bad.

I cannot watch Napoleon Dynamite or Hamlet 2. Never made it more than halfway into either of these.

The Dune movie with Sting (and Patrick Stewart, but that really doesn't improve it in the slightest). I tried 3 times. I failed miserably.

SUNSHINE

Goddamn, fucking, Sunshine

So goddamnnably awful I gave up halfway through and, whilst it was still playing (DVD), went on t'internet, found the most scathing reviews I could, and quoted them whilst my family, who also hated the film, wearily waited for the end of that piece of crap (Dad was manlier, he SAW IT THROUGH, damnit)

John Tucker must die. Me and my old man picked it up for some reason, about 20 minutes in we looked at each other in disgust and turned it off.

I don't see why Twilight was as all bad as that, admitadly I'm not as fan of it as the next guy but I don't get the irrational hatred put towards it, I think its a jealousy thing with girls swooning for some unexplained reason over Robert Patterson or that unlikable bloke that plays Jacob, old "Bloody-Whats-His-Name".
Taylor Lautner. He was also Sharkboy in 'The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl'. Anyway, I liked the Twilight films, I liked the books, I hate Edward Cullen and I hate the screaming fangirls who give us proper fans (those who can see past the flaws and still like something) a really bad name. That sums up my view on Twilight.

Anyway, getting back on topic. I couldn't sit through Apocalypse Now. Flame me all you want, but I read the novella it was partially based on (Heart Of Darkness) and loved that, but when I watched Apocalypse Now it was in an optional after-school supplementary class for the course where we were reading Heart of Darkness. I sat through the first class to see the film, never bothered turning up to the second. We watched the Redux version, you see, so it had to be split over two classes, and I never bothered going to the second showing because I just couldn't take any more. I have no doubt it's a good film, but watching that version, it was just excessivley long and I couldn't really get into it.
I couldn't get into it the first time either, but you really have to watch this film in the theatre or with surround sound, because it's one of the most visually and technically compelling films I've seen, which I've garnered to appreciate after multiple viewings. Anyway you shouldn't have compared it to the book (or expected the same type of story), since the things that the film has in common with the novel is more the storytelling and names of the characters, and doesn't really have anything to do with the overall message of the book. That, and a long attention span. (which I've recently perfected with the recent viewing of lawrence of arabia)

EDIT: Oh yeah, back on to topic (I think I mentioned this in a previous thread) I walked out the first 30 mins. of Enchanted, because of enduring way too many cringe-worthy moments, caused by the ultra cheesiness and stupididty of the film. (I consider Disaster Movie to be the worst film I have ever seen in theatres, but for some strange reason, I didn't have the common decency to get up and leave)

The only one I really just couldn't finish was In the Name of the King...just....wow.
To put that into perspective, I watched Death Racers all the way through.
Not Death Race with Jason Statham.
The Mockbuster ripoff with INSANE CLOWN POSSE.
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I go to the cinemas perhaps once a month, and normally go to movies I'm sure that I'll like. So I've never walked out of a cinema midway, though The Grinch (with Jim Carrey) was godawful, Transformers was meh (didn't watch the sequel)...Oh! I also saw Eragon in the cinema. That was the closest I ever was to walking out.

In theaters; Kill Bill 1 & 2, and Sin City. On DVD; Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and 10 Things I Hate About You. I was later forced to watch all the DVD ones, and I hated them even more after finishing them.
Aside from 10 things I Hate About You, every film you listed is a fucking phenomenal film, I just don't understand how you couldn't like them.

Two off-topic things real quick:

1. I think it's amazing how The Escapist can't have a thread without a third of it being about Twilight. Even when the OP specifically forbids discussion.

2. I find it very hard to believe how most people are saying "yeah, I walked out after about five to ten minutes." I have no problem walking out of movies. I think the idiotic "but I want my money's worth!" argument is pathetic- you're further debasing your money by wasting your time and torturing yourself. Just cut your losses and move on. But, five minutes? Really? I've never seen a movie that proved itself to be terrible in the first few minutes.

Anywayz.

Nacho Libre. I was with a group of five or six friends, and everyone wanted to walk out. There was no disagreement, which is amazing. The movie was just terrible. I walked out about a third of the way through

The Simpsons movie. I'm a decent Simpsons fan, but Jesus H., it was just terrible. I left toward the end.

There's certainly much more. These are just the most recent. I'm sure if I had wasted time seeing some of the movies that are currently out, I would have walked out of a large majority of them. There have been no decent movies to come out in the past few months. It's pathetic. It's to the point that I find TV shows to have much better writing than movies these days.

Really? I found that to be in the "so bad it's entertaining" section of films.
