The "Name" Joke

thats a term ive just given to the joke most famous in Legend of Zelda, where you give your character a very silly name (usually an insult of some kind) and let the game craft the humour for you, the classic is "im gay" (no offence anyone) such examples of the joke include "HELP ME!! IM GAY!!!" or "AAAAAAAAAARGH!! IM GAY!!!" and my personal favourite "the fate... of the world..... is in your hands... (im gay)"

I always name my characters "Mr. Tibbs" just in case the text option "They call me *insert name here*" comes up. So far the only game to have that option is Dragon Age but it was so worth it. I also sometimes name him "Cpl Cuddles" so that I can imagine enemies shitting themselves in fear of the awesome might of Cpl Cuddles.

I had a better one than that. I can't remember exactly but I had a beedrill (all the way from a weedle) and I think I named it something very rude (rapist probably) and it went:

Rapist used harden
Rapist used take down
Rapist used horn drill
Rapist used string shot.

My friends got a laugh out of it. It's funny how you can make pokemon so sexual.

If you really wanna mess with some heads you can name your charizard "squirtle" or call your blastoise "metapod". People will be confused when you tell them your squirtle beat a venusaur with flamethrower.
