I've watched this trailer so many times now, and the first time gave me goosebumps. That doesn't happen that much to me with trailers (Skyrim and Dark Knight Rises are the others to do this to me), and so I have faith in this.

Also, is that thing at the end the Midgard Serpent or Fin Fang Foom?

I don't know if it was mentioned but I'm assuming I'm not the only one who thinks it - whether or not the movie itself turns out to be good (which would, you know, be nice and all), by the end of 2012 Avatar will no longer be the highest grossing movie ever.

This trailer is making my excitement factor go into overdrive. Personally, in terms of caps suit, I don't mind the rest, but the head gear annoys me. I almost think they should have just let him go helmetless.

Also want to see a bit more from hawkeye and widow know that they are just the normals, but they should at least get a moment to prove why they are members of shield in the first place.

other than that, I can say that I'm beyond ready for this movie.

Every character in Marvel that isn't Spiderman and Wolverine (not even the X-Men) are quite unknown to non-comic fans.
Some of them like Blade are well known but most people don't know they are comic characters. Before I knew much about comics there were lots of times I started watching a movie and the marvel thing came up and I thought really?, Marvel made this?

As for justice league, I thought other non Batman/superman characters like GL and flash were lame till I watched the JL cartoon and The Flash 1990 and now I like them. DC just need to get people into them like that.

The first trailer was kinda meh. But this...

... is A W E S O M E !

All the new Marvel movies have been good so far... Please do it right one more time!

Please don't suck...
Please don't suck...
Please don't suck...
Please don't suck...
Please don't suck...
Please don't suck...
Please don't suck...
Please?

What are your thoughts?

Well, finally we hear Black Widow talking since she didn't have any lines in the previous trailers... So I guess that now we will hear Hawke... Nevermind, I'm guessing his lines are so amazing they are saving them for the movie... But in any case, I've seen this trailer like 15 times today alone. Threeway battle between Ironman, Thor and Caps??? Wow ok that got me psyched... (It was only hinted until now since before you only saw Thor bringing the smack unto poor Rogers).

Ok Black Widow doing some choreography and finally kicking HAWKEYE??

I mean pause the trailer and check the left hand of the person she's kicking... That is definetly her husband/lover/partner (whatever they choose to make them in this movie).

Maybe he will be a traitor (big movies about unlikely characters brought together under difficult times always have a good TRAITOR). Maybe he's a Skrull?? (Possible villains of the movie?) (Besides it will play with the concept of paranoia and distrust which was one of the things that Loki tried to use when he try to unleash by trickery a rampant Hulk and ended up helping create the Avengers by mistake :p) (Or not)

Maybe they are training? Who knows.

We get to see more of Hulk's face that in the previous trailers where we see the assembled team.

And finally... Who cares about any of the details... The movie is going to be sweet.

Also Agent Coulson is telling "Commander" Maria Hill: They need a time out. So she's in the movie. Maybe some foreshadowing of future story arcs and events for a possible Avengers 2.

Well that was fucking cheesy. I imagine it'll be entertaining, but other than that it looks pretty fucking horrible.
Whaa? But it was good cheesy! The kind of cheesy that Thor was! Completely-damn-awesome-because-this-would-never-happen-in-real-life cheesy!

The guy directing (Joss Whedon) has previously made Buffy: The vampire slayer. So much for this being a good movie. But let's judge this by the trailer instead. Lot's of explosions, Downey doing his act without much energy or passion to it, a guy replaces Edward Norton as Hulk, there's a girl and possibly lovestory in it and Loki has apperently become alive again somehow.

Nope, not so much hopes for this movie, it'll probably be another one with lot's of explosions with decent acting but a sup-par script. What is it with explosions that makes everyone go "AWESOME", but when, say, the Star Wars-prequels (or Bay-movies) also base the movie around explosions it's "DUUDE! NOT COOL! NEED MORE STORY!".

Several directors have proven that you can cram in both explosions and a good story. Oh yeah, Avengers, probably not gonna see it. Wasn't too fond of Thor or Iron-Man, and hasn't seen Captain America.
O_O

I respect the right for everyone to have an opinion, but your opinion is fucking stupid. You don't have to think Joss Whedon is the best writer ever, or anything, but he is good at his job and does know what he's doing. You might not particularly care for the way he tells stories, but the man is incapable of turning out a "sub-par script".

If you think his involvement in this movie is a strike against it, then I... I don't even know if we're the same species.

In short: what the hell is wrong with you people? This movie is going to kick ass.

Look at this. Look at it! It's so manly it hurts.

This is really happening.
I know! I squealed like a little girl when I saw this trailer.

Admittedly, I squealed for all the other trailers, too. But this one had multiple moments that made me a little more high-pitched:

1.This fight scene.

2.When the Hulk saved Iron Man.

3.And the back-to-back rotating camera shot (even though they already showed it a few weeks ago, it was still cool).

The only bad parts of that trailer were Cap's new outfit, and learning that the release date had been pushed back to May 4 :(

I don't exactly see what makes this any better than Bayformers or the Star Wars prequels.
It's being written by Joss Whedon, someone who's shown he can write pretty good dialog, have likable characters and generally construct plots that are both epic but still focused on the charcters. This in stark contrast to Transformers and Star Wars prequels which were written by hacks. Whedon has his flaws but something like this is perfect for him.
This. This is the reason I'm not as worried about the story as I would ordinarily be in this situation. If I didn't know it was going to have a good writer, I'd be really worried that it would be a big, dumb bunch of explosions; a movie as bad as Transformers: Dark of the Moon was.

But I'm not. Because I know that, with this guy writing, it'll at least be 'okay'.

As stated the guy also did Firefly.

A guy replacing Edard Norton; well there are two Hulk movies and this guy was in the other one. So it's perfetly fine in my book.

If you bothered watching after the credits of Thor, you'd now that Loki is alive, bad on your part.

I really hope that they don't use the villains from the Ultimates comic book. While I do really like the first two parts of that series, I think they should keep to the regular comics for the Avengers' first movie. Personally, I'm rooting for the villains to be Atlantians, with maybe an after-credits scene with Namor. But I'm also pretty sure I'm the -only- person who would actually want that.
While I'd agree that the villans in Ultimates 1 were kinda bland I think it'd be awesome for the anti-avengers team from Ultimates 2 to be the villans. Although they'd probably work better in a sequel than in the first movie.

yes, I know Stark wasn't actually depicted beating up Thor; it was 2 shots of him dealing blows edited together.

The image you showed is one of the things that irks me about comics. Iron Man can hold his own against Thor yet he can get beaten up by characters such as Spider Man and Wolverine.

By the way, what comic issue is that image from? The image piqued my curiosity enough to read the issue if I can find it.

I just wanna see Hulk smash some stuff. Though, is there a reason why he seemed.. intelligent? Like, he actually went to save Iron Man, and stood in the group with him. I thought he was just a rage filled green monster?
The Hulk is angry not stupid. He actually possesses Banner's equivalent intelligence most of the time but just wants to be left alone. It's explained he uses this intelligence to time and calculate stuff like his huge jumps and how to fight people attacking him without killing them.

Wait, @ 2:22, did I see Stark beating up Thor? ... the heck? I'm guessing the movie is going to explain the god's lack of strength.
He's holding back? That's the usually the excuse in the comics.
