The new badges: getting a little over the top?

Hey, I like all the new badges cuz it's a peek into who you are here at the escapist. What parts of the site you actually visit, what shows you watch. What you've earned and what you choose as top 4 badges is all part of the ever growing personalization of your profile. If you don't like the new badges, put something else up front.

I have all content badges now so I'm definitely not complaining. And I have the new badge for completing 25 quizzes

They're not even something to be proud of, anybody can click on every video at once and then exit them all.

Lazer cat will keep me warm at night, and it is a good barometer as to who likes certain shows. For instance, I love "There Will Be Brawl," but I understand that a lot of people think it's slow or just don't like it. So, seeing that gritty little mushroom reminds me that I'm not alone in that love.

I agree that they don't feel like they have a lot of worth now, but I would imagine that, once the retroactive ones have been given out, badges will go back to feeling more worthwhile again. They'll be a bit more common for the easy ones, but you'll still get a smile every once and a while to know that you've reached a certain mark.

I don't want badges for shows I don't like! Just because I watched it doesn't mean I'm a fan.

I guess I'm proud of my Unskippable badges? Yeah, that's it...

I like them. They are nice. It makes me wanna watch the shows again, and reminds me of some good times. They are just a different kind of badge then we are used too, which is ok. If you don't like them, just ignore them. Just like the Genre Wars badges. You don't need to put them under your avata, but it is nice to see someone who watched the same vids as you, and who likes them.

It annoys me because I see I have new messages thinking that maybe someone wants to say Hello, but no....stupid badges.

My thoughts exactly. One time I came on here, I had 8 new messages. Thinking I was awesome and popular I checked...nope, all badges.

Fuck yes. I just opened this site after waking up and saw I had 8 new messages. Was thinking "Wow, wonder what the fuck I said to get quoted soo damn much." Checked my inbox and its just 8 freaking badges... I honestly am going to use another browser without being logged in before watching shit from now on just so I do not have to get anymore dumbass badges.
I mean do not get me wrong. Some of them look pretty cool. Far, far, far better than most of the typical ones we have but still. It is just getting annoying.

You're getting so much of them at once because they're newly implemented of course. Once you're on par you'll only get a new one after you reach a new milestone.

You don't want them but you can't help yourself from ordering them nice and tidy huh.

No offense, but if you don't want them why do keep them as the first 4 badges that show on the forum? If they're that annoying just drag them at the end of your badge list and you'll rarely see them.

Noting that new badges appear at the bottom automatically, you don't even have to do anything if you don't want to see them. He put an effort in setting them at the top. Silly him.
