Well Greenlight is a popularity contest, and all the popular kids will win that one every time.
Now if you want to dissect popularity in modern society... that would make it a whole other topic.

Just ignore him. He is beyond predictable by this point.

OT: I don't understand you OT. You are complaining about the games people have voted to be greenlit? People want a game and vote for it. That is its sole purpose. Aren't happy with people's choice of entertainment? Umm deal with it?

Hey major_chaos,

If you want those games greenlit - write up a sentence or two about each one, then give a link to the greenlight page. It's all about word of mouth, and that stuff helps out a lot.

I'm the dev for one of those games, so it's kinda bad form for me to do it myself. Pimpin' your own game on a bunch of website forums is kinda uncool. But it's probably fine if the regular folks who hang out around here point out a few games they like.

Thanks man.

While I do agree that most of Greenlight's library is a load of piss, criticizing source mods is like criticizing Valve's IPs. Most of their games all run on the same Source engine.

Then again, I've never really given a hoot about Greenlight after I got McPixel.

I'm just wondering why there are (at this time) 30 games greenlit on Steam, and only 1 has been actually released.
Well, a number of the Greenlit games haven't actually been finished yet. And I suspect the rest are working their way through the Steam QA system.
I kinda figured that was the reason in some cases. I can obviously deal with that. It would be nice to have an approximate release date.

Yeah, I agree. Some of the unfinished games have estimates of when they'll be finished (e.g. Blockscape is aiming for December 15th and Interstellar Marines says "late 2013") but for the completed games it would be nice to get a rough idea from Valve on how long the QA process is likely to take. Just to - you know - get some excitement going.

I agree. I bought McPixel mostly to be supportive, but they have to give me stuff to be supportive of.
