they should stick to the way it has been done since the first. if they change it, i'll have to stick with black version for eternity.
Which is exactly why a lot of Nintendo's franchises are increasingly panned, including Pokemon Black and White. Anyway, this game is a spinoff. Remember those? Things where you wanted to test a new kind of game, but needed an established IP to make sure it wouldn't get buried under Call of Duty in seven different-looking boxes?

They're not mutually exclusive. Just because this game gets localised doesn't mean your precious Wii Mystery Dungeon won't. And if it's PMD, then this one might determine whether or not the others do, like Xenoblade and the other two Operation Rainfall games.

it does if the game im fuming over is 2 years old now

Stranger things have happened than a two-year-old game getting localised. How do you know it's never coming?

I saw this a while ago. I think it looks awesome. I can't wait to see more about it.

I saw info for this one on Serebii a few days ago. The last Nobunaga's Ambition I know of to have been released in the States was on the SNES so I don't think the Pokemon/Nobunaga game will get out of Japan. The west didn't get the Pokemon typing thing either I believe. I'm still waiting on news on either Gray or the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald remake.

Dear Pokemon,

I enjoyed reading about the new direction that you are taking the pokemon games in. It seems that people will buy anything for a pikachu...
I have some suggestions for some similary different games that involve our little friends:

1. Pokemon of Duty, A first person adventure that takes place in a war, where you are part of Lt Surges personal squad. You play as a pokemon of your choice (however for purposes of fairness they all handle the same,) and you equip attacks and some perks (pp up, X-Defend etc) and then go and 'feint' eachother for fun! As a bonus, in the main game, team rocket manage to execute your trainer right in front of you, and a misstimes psywave destroys an entire city...

2. PFL: Pokemon Football League, a Football sim that uses a selection of teams, based on there base type and generation. Equal parts of non-fun for both football fans, and pokemon fans!

3. Pokemon Cooking Mama, A cooking sim that dices and bakes your favourite pokemon into fun filled dishes, than unfortunately due to the fiction involved, cannot be recreated in real life!

4. Dynasty Pokemon, granted, this is essentially pokemon super rumble, but with equal sized armies, and some extra tactics involved. You also get to control a particular stronger pokemon, that has alot of prediculous, yet pretty attacks...

5. (because all lists should be in multiples of 5 :p) Pokemon Theft Auto, You are an immigrant pikachu who is now stranded in (random tree/floral name) city. You have to steal rydons, onyx', nidorina and sporty dugduo in order to travel round doing odd jobs for the cities crime lords and gaining influence to work your way to the top. Swing by Jynx's Jewels, the cities titty bar to unwind in style, or head over to the airport and steal a Charizard, or a Zapdos, and ezplore until your heart is content! Set up business selling Hard Candy to the cities low lives, or hire yourself a luvdisk, and... um... well... You know! Just dont forget to murder it so you can get your cash back!

Yours,

Deano

The gameplay looks incredibly boring for me. I know ordinary Pokemon is mostly just reading text and seeing images occasionally move differently, but that seemed like a really dull trailer.

Awesome.

So, when do we get a Pokemon DLC for Shogun 2?

I hope that you're referring to yourself.

You know what, this might just be the game that gets me back into Pokemon.

Heartgold and Black bored me senseless - it was exactly the same as Pokemon Red but with all the fun taken out.

A classic Nintendo franchise though - same plot, characters and gameplay with very minor tweaks such as new Pokemon or quizzes in Black (seriously wtf was that about?).

When people said they wanted Pokemon to change....I don't think this is what they meant. I cannot view the video, thus have nothing concrete to go off of. From what iv'e collected and understand, is that Nintendo took a dynasty warriors game and they just changed the textures of soldiers, into Pokemon (possibly wearing armor).

I'm not a huge fan of Nintendo (You can only release the same Mario/Zelda game so many times nintendo) so my ambitions to get another Pokemon game are already low. However, clustering my screens up with oodles of little monsters, isn't going to convince me to buy it, any more than giving me a slap to the face with a raw fish will make me want to buy sushi more.

I really wish I could view the video so I know what the heck you guys are talking about, but I do have to say that any strategy game with Pokemon in it will definitely pique my interest.

Not taking away from or adding to your argument in any way here, but Sonic is made by Sega, not Nintendo.

Have this. It might be an equivalent.

I might like to add that just as much as Zelda does not need to change the formula to be the best game of the year, change should often be welcomed and that this is very, very refreshing. Might I also add that I'm a huge nut of ancient Northeast Asian culture from the Buyeo to the Jomon to the Nara to the Ainu to the Hongshan to the Xiongnu to even the more recent Qing Dynasty. And I've always loved about Pokemon games, a heavy influence of Japanese culture, especially in Gold and Silver. It gets a little boring and annoying in times I've played games like Shogun 2 and you can't really play as female characters aside from Geisha because "historical accuracy" and Japan used to be more sexist than they are now and all that(what about the Onna Bugeisha and such, Creative Assembly?).

But as a general rule, largely because I love Northeast Asian clothes, architecture, written, and spoken language, this is hugely welcome in my book.
