That's fucking stupid, it looks SO ugly, I really liked the life of Abe coins though, they should do that.

Australia got rid of it's one and two cent pieces years ago, worked fine there. It's not like 2 Australian cents were worth less than one US cent when they did or anything, and currently the AUS dollar is higher than the US anyway. You don't need a one cent coin.

The biggest gripe I have about our coinage is the lack of numbers on them. I saw some new pennies with "1" on them, which is an improvement, but take a look at the other coins.
Lousy: the Nickel: "Five Cents" - fine if you can read English.
Bad: the Quarter: "Quarter Dollar" - fine if you're fluent in English.
Horrible: the Dime: "One Dime" - what, did they mint these coins BEFORE deciding how much they were going to be worth!?
Japan has the numeral-free 5-yen coin, but every other non-American coin I've ever seen has had the decency to have its value clearly marked for the benefit of their foreign visitors. Or so their kids can concentrate on other lessons in school.

Pennies are stupid. We should just let the current supply die and round when using cash.
Also, I'm sure a good amount of the USA's pennies are in canada. Reaching into my pocket 2 / 13 pennies I have are american. Everyone hates them so much we don't care what country they come from.

Umm... its a fucking penny! Quarters, Dimes, hell, even Nickles, but pennies... why the hell do we have them still? I have never found any other use than to take them to those coin-star machines and get some actual money...
