Guitar Hero: Mudvayne would be fun...but it wouldnt sell very well (not to mention the M rating). If they wanted to make serious cash they would release Guitar Hero: Nickelback, you may criticize but the vast majority of their songs could be made into fun full band tracks.

Guitar Hero: Lamb of God
Guitar Hero: Pantera
Guitar Hero: Cannibal Corpse (good luck getting this by the rating board)

I'd buy it. For once you'd have a GH game with ball-busting bass parts as Ryan Martine is a bass master.

Guitar Hero: Fightgarr.
I don't know how to play guitar, or sing. Most of it would be me making guitar sounds and occasionally yelling shit like: "Alright! Dragons!"
... I'd buy it.

]Led Zeppelin? Probably.

However, my preference would be:

The Clash. Please?
Although the Clash is an awesome band, they cant put them in guitar hero because part of their whole punk vibe was that they didnt really know how to play their instruments.
True. Ok, then...Black Sabbath!

*emphasis mine*
Agreed.

Personally. I'd go for a Rock Band:RUSH. I know they released the Moving Pictures album as a d/l, but there's so much more I want to play. I WANT MY PASSAGE TO BANGKOK!!!.....Sorry. Lost my head.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers would be cool, too.

Do a ska themed one, sax hero! MAdness! The specials, Bad Manners, The Beat!
The problem with that is you'd get a Madness track, Ghost Town by the specials in the first rank, as it's nice n slow, and then 60 ska punk versions of 99 red balloons, and Lady in Red.

MY vote, and I'm sure it's come up before, would be GH: Mike Patton, not Faith No More, as it opens it up to his Tomahawk, Mr Bungle, Lovage, and Peeping Tom stuff among others.

If you want to link him to games, he was the 'voice artist' for the Anger Sphere in Portal, and I believe he's done a fair bit of voice work for other games like the Darkness and Left for Dead, whenever they've needed insane screaming demonic anger, they give Mike a call!

One thing my idea has above most is the sheer range of styles he has. There'd be no difficulty in selecting 'starter tracks' and the 'epic expert' tracks to choose from.

As for the Metallica one, I'm pleasantly surprised by the track listing, seems to be a LOT of older material, and I'm in the majority I think when I say their best work was up to the black album. 'Lightning' 'Master' etc seem to hold the classics for me.

I would say a cool metal band, but I guess most people wouldn't go for it. Guitar Hero: All That Remains edition? I'd buy it, and be pretty ecstatic... haha... but I may be one of few.
There are three ATR songs on Rock Band 2, and to be honest they aren't epic enough yet to make a game about them.

I just suggest Guitar Hero: Good Music Edition. Every good bank from classic rock to death metal.

I agree with all the Led Zeppelin suggestions. How about a Lynyrd Skynard themed one? I would love to do Sweet Home Alabama amongst many others. I would also love a Soundgarden one!

Dead Can Dance or Nox Arcana.

I'm not weird.
I like this idea alot. A Dead can Dance Hero would be awesome i could go for a Rockband, Faith And The Muse as well.

I think The Cure would make a great one though besides being my favourite game they go from post punk to goth rock to pop to alternative rock so you have a bit of variety even if you are doing one band. This would also work with a Joy Division/ New Order game or a Sex Pistols/ PIL but perhaps the latter would be too easy.

I have yet to play world tour as i can't afford it due to the whole no work and no money issue. I have a feeling i am going to be bugging my friend to let me go round his and play it till he gets bored of my constant exclamations of rock god brilliance.....or something like that.
