I'd love to see them take it into the not-too-distant future, like perfect dark.

Well I think the next CoD (Infinity ward, not the sidekicks)makes will be semi futuristic, I mean after the success with modern warfare you can't step back can you?

Well you can but I hope they won't.

I still think a COD:Wh40 would be fucking awesome
Untill it gets shot down by the "fans" for some rediculously tiny perceived innacuracy. I refer you to Space Marine(think Gears of War: 40K), which is apparently canceled after a huge backlash because a leaked internal alpha preview showed a bolter firing faster then it "should".

And the gameplay doesn't lend itself to more then guard vs traitor guard and we all know how much GW cares about anything other then Mary Sue Calgar these days.

Thats true... buuuuuuut:

Lets say you're a german. And all your gaming life you've never gotten the chance to play as your nationality because international game developers would see that as too controversial.
However if i remember a scene from COD:World at War, there is a part where you are presented with surrendering germans and are given no option of sparing them. Wouldnt that cause you butthurt?

Why do these games 'need' to do Vietnam or WW2 or Cold-War-Gone-Hot-War (though admittedly World in Conflict was pretty awesome). Why cant they do Korea* or the Great War+ or something else more original. Break the shallow preconceptions they were non-events.

Oh, and I seriously, seriously doubt that Call of Duty 6 is the last one. Activision and its new "we must exploit it every year!!!" strategy will ensure that we will be playing Call of Duty games on out deathbeds.
True, but to be fair at least Infinity Ward is doing something to revitalise the series. Treyarc are the ones running it into the groumd.

I predict 2 or 3 more IW titles (including COD6) before they either change the premise again or scrap their involvement with the series.

Why are people discussing COD6? Shouldn't we be looking forward to COD 5 first?

Now I sit back and wait for someone to say "COD: WAW was COD5 stupid!" to which I will respond, "Really? I didn't see a 5 anywhere in the title." to which they will respond "Well it's understood to be COD5" to which I will respond "Really? Like COD: Finest Hour was understood to be COD2? And then COD: Big Red 1 was understood to be COD3? What does that put us up to now, COD7? COD8?"

Finest Hour was not numbered because it was only based on the original CoD. Big Red One actually had a 2 in the title (way to read, there), but apparently it's a sequel to Finest Hour, not CoD 1. Oh and you forgot Roads to Victory for the PSP.

Bottom line, the games that are released on all major platforms (besides the original) are considered part of the main series, while console-only or handheld-only are considered spinoffs. WaW is on 360, PS3, and PC (and Wii too I suppose), so people are calling it CoD 5 (including me). Now if they release an actual CoD 5, I'll shut up, but I haven't heard anything about that.

Well, and the AI was awful. Instead of bunkering down in houses or something, they just lob grenade after grenade until I took a step forward and was turned into applesauce. The sniper mission sucked in WaW, as opposed to the sniper mission in MW, which was inspired, entertaining, and engaging. I didn't give a shit about the characters in WaW like I cared about them in MW. The B-52 mission in WaW was tedious and borning, as opposed to the bombardment mission in MW which was TONS of fun.

All in all, MW was so superior in every way.

I wish i was but usualy games are officialy announced a few weeks after they are leaked but it's been almost half a year and so far there's been nothing exept for a few copyright claims to sites to remove the video.
