That is a weird combination of circumstances.
How will butter cookies be made now!? Margarine?

I'll tell you one thing, if this happened in America, there'd be rioting. The streets would run red with blood. The dead would be left to rot. Cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria. Butter would become the new currency.

...what? I live in America. I can make fat people jokes.
yayyy! Ghostbusters reference.

So, what would you do? Have you ever experienced similar food shortages?
Well if butter means that much to you, you could join the EU. Denmark still has plenty of butter as it would help with the problems of inport tax that you are having now.

This was on the news in Iceland the other day and Norway had asked MS(an icelandic dairy company) for some butter and the CEO said we had more then enough of butter but he still wouldn't give any, said it was our butter. I thought this was incredibly selfish and he was not at all thinking of the beneficial outcome of this. Say we were to lend Norway some supply of butter for now, then one day if Iceland had a shortage of something we could turn to them to return the favor.

It made me sad that the CEO turned them down for such an arbitrary reason :<

I like how it translated kronor to billion...

"- I should have 800 billion, at least. Then I can give 400 crowns for each of my children's sports teams, she says, adding that she is far from the worst."
Is Norway one of those wacky places where a billion is a million million instead of a thousand million?
I dunno about norway but in Sweden a billion is 1000 million (en miljard)
1000 million is one "milliard" and 1000 "milliard(er)" is a billion, 1000 billions is a trillion, and so on. At least that's what I think it is.

First time i heard about this was on artige.no to be perfectly honest.
This so called "crisis" hasn't affected me much, and i really have to say it's kinda ridiculous some people get so worked up about this.

Then again i guess we don't have much else to worry about, what with Norway topping those UN happiness ratings n' all that :p

Go first world problems!
