I've tried everything....

Running and gunning (very bad idea).

Watching vids on youtube of Hutch, Seananners, Thunder, Blame Truth, XCal, etc etc...

Camping in a corner like a pussy with Scavenger and a claymore.

Being a stealthy ninja.

Running Harriers, Chopper Gunner, Nuke - Harriers, AC130, Nuke.

I've even done the total MW2 douche move and played TDM in Domination.

Perhaps it's just my 30 year old reaction time getting the better of me, but I think I'm just destined to forever fail in this stupid (and yes, I know, pointless) compulsion I have to get that elusive nuke.

After getting Commando knifed on 24 kills yesterday, I don't think I want to even try anymore after the rather embarrassing level of rage it caused me

For those of you have have done it... tell us how you did it?

For those, like me, who have never gotten one... share your stories of failure and how you were prevented from getting it.

I might have gotten closer to getting a nuke, but MW2 online just made me angry. So I just gave up before I gave myself a hernia or something.

Just don't think about getting it. If you focus on trying to get it you never will but if you just block it out of your mind and just focus on having fun then it will happen eventually.

Ive never gotten the nuke myself just because whenever I have the nuke on I can't seem to get it, but Ive gotten over 25 kills many times (34 KS being my highest) when I don't use it.

I'm on Prestige 1 now, and I won't bother trying to get the nuke until I'm level 70 again.

He has waaaaaaaay too much time on his hands and is too good to be playing this game.
As for me, the highest killstreak I've gotten was I think 22 kills but at the time I didn't have the Nuke unlocked so it wouldn't have mattered anyway. On top of that, the only killstreaks I've gotten through skill were up to the Pavelow; everything else from the AC-130, Chopper Gunner, and EMP I've gotten only through Care Package.

21 kills is my highest streak with Preadator, Harrier, Pavelow (I really wasn't expecting to do that well and haven't ever since). That having been said I could never bring myself to equip a Nuke as a kill reward as I've been on the receiving end of one or two and it's always pissed me off something royal.

Funny you mention it, it was when I was just running around having fun that it almost happened. And on Carvnival, of all maps.

Back when I had the game I never got a nuke... I got to like... First prestige 30, I think.

I managed to get 21 kills, with the nuke equipped, but after a divine Intervention to the face, I got pissed, and went to play GTA4 and kill innocent people to mellow out...

Well I've never gotten a nuke, never tried. I prefer to have Predator, Harrier and Chopper Gunner equipped. Never been nuked either actually. What's it like?

Also, highest streak so far is 17 I think. So not even close.

Its best not to try for it as it will come eventually. Most the time I get to 24...then get team killed. I am on 6/10 and I have been skanked out of it more than that

I think your problem seems to be you are playing Modern Warfare 2 in the first place...
I personally think the nuke ruined the game for me, I got two in my MW2 Career (Ended at 60-something, 5th prestige due to a snapped disk) and the idea of them infuriated me, they encourage camping usually.
You'd find a lot less little kids on the game try harding and camping if there were never any customisable killstreaks.
Infinity Ward really took the biscuit AND ate it with this game, I truely have a burning hatred for it.
My advice: If you want a nuke, do what you're good at, use either Harrier/Pavelow/TacNuke or Pavelow/Chopper Gunner/TacNuke.
I think your biggest issue is the fact that you watch other peoples' videos, don't do that!
Find your own technique (Hint, hint, UMP+Silencer, Scavenger, Cold Blooded, Ninja/Commando, Claymores, SPAS 12)
Seeing as I no longer play MW2, I don't give a shit about people camping on it, so feel free

I just gradually worked my way up the killstreaks.
The best I've gotton was an EMP though, and that's useless...
I've gained all of the animated killstreak emblems, just for fun...
So far my favorite is the AC-130, which is my regular. I noticed that on my friendslist I had the lowest streak of like, 28...But I realised that I get higher killstreaks more often, rather than getting lucky once and getting 40 or 50...
Anyway, I admit that half of my killstreaks are the product of luck. That's all Call of Duty is, luck...
I've also come to terms that I won't get an AC-130 every game I play, but when I do, it makes the game... Well, no, the time wasted and anger caused will never be worth it, but it makes the moment slightly less unenjoyable, or whatever...
That's my two cents...

I have, on more than one occasion, had a sufficient kill streak to get a nuke but I've never had one equipped. I despised the damn thing. Either it was the end result of some immense string of bullshittery (yes, I made up that word and am referring to things like people who have absolutely frightening accuracy with the chopper gunner and whatnot in addition to the nonsense that got them there in the first place) and the nuke is just a twist of the knife, or it is the result of a lesser incident of bullshit (generally, camping) that turns the tide in the end. The first time I saw a nuke, it amused me. Each and every time that followed it caused only rage.

Of course, that rage has nothing on the righteous anger caused by the events leading to the nuke as it often involved being reduced to a fine paste moments after spawning several lives in a row.

I stopped playing Modern Warfare because I eventually got bored. I stopped playing MW2 because the game eventually caused for more moments of incoherent rage than moments of fun.

I agree with everything you said there actually. When I first started MW2 the camping (and mechanics that encouraged it) used to make me so mad, I was the only one going for flags, the only one movng around the map... then I just said fuck it and started playing TDM in Domination like everyone else, stopped giving a fuck about my K and now I have fun again.

Any time I want to play a proper game of Dom now I go back to COD4.

On Derail, Team Deathmatch. Class: UMP 45 Silenced, M1014 Shotgun, Marathon/Lightweight/Commando Pro. Harrier/Chopper Gunner/Nuke.

How I did it: On beginning of the match, starting on the side near the Trains, I flanked the opposition by following the river, took out their whole team and a few respawns, then ran to the cabin and dropped the harrier on the whole team (luck I think). After my harrier got me to 11 kills I dumped off my Chopper Gunner and pinned them down in one area racking up 26 kills total. Then I ran out killed a few guys before deciding to drop the nuke.
End result 36-1.

I've gotten a 31 killstreak on a Domination game. Sadly I did not have the nuke equipped...

I've had a few, I only put it on because I was in a game where I had a 27 kill streak and someone sent me a message saying "NUKE THEM!!!" and when I replied "I don't have it on" they sent me lots of sad faces.

Most of the time I've got one I've been using the Scar H with heartbeat sensor, the AA12 with extended mags, Scavenger Pro (essential for me as I run out of ammo around 10 kills otherwise), Stopping Power Pro and Commando Pro (more for no falling damage than knifing).

For the killstreaks I use Harriers, Chopper Gunner and Nuke. I won't call in my harriers until I'm on 9 or 10 kills so I can have the CG out at the same time, making them harder to shoot down.

A lot of it is luck, if you're on an open map with nobody on the other team having an anti aircraft class you're pretty much set once you've got to harriers.
