Tales of Symphonia (Nintendo Gamecube)
Resident Evil 4 (Nintendo Wii/Nintendo 64)
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (Nintendo 64)
Left 4 Dead (X-Box 360)
Super Smash Bros. Melee (Nintendo Gamecube)
Banjo-Kazooie (Nintendo 64)
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64)
X-Men 2: Clone Wars (Sega Genesis)
Tales of Symphonia 2: Dawn of A New World (Nintendo Wii)
Blazblue: Calamity Trigger (X-Box 360)

Damn, I like Nintendo. I didn't realize it so much until just now. But yeah, top 10. Enjoy.

Bioshock, Left 4 Dead 2, Penumbra, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 all deserve special mention, as they all switch in and out with my number 9 and 10.

1. Sonic the Hedgehog 2
2. Freespace 2
3. Command and Conquer: Red Alert
4. Mass Effect
5. Borderlands
6. Final Fantasy 12
7. Gran Turismo series (they're the same game, different graphics)
8. Half-Life
9. Call of Duty 4 (hated the "sequel," though)
10. Pretty much anything on the N64, an amalgamation of Starfox, Mario Kart, Blast Corps (edit: completely underappreciated game, btw), and Super Smash Bros.

These are the games that I've either spent the most time playing, or have sucked me mercilessly into their world for the time that I was playing them.

In order:

MGS3(For its' compelling story, not to mention the easiest one in the series to keep track of timeline wise, innovative selection of firearms, ingenious health system, intelligent AI, memorable characters, exemplar soundtrack, etc etc.)

Tenchu 2 (For the intertwining and compelling storyline, clear-cut characters with charm and personality, very wide arsenal of tools, which allow for many strategies, pulse-racing combat, and a good use of the KI meter.)

Silent Hill 2 (For one of the most disturbing atmospheres in games to this day, a deep and moving story, as with the soundtrack, three dimensional characters, difficult but rewarding puzzles, and solid combat system, just for starters.)

Portal (For its less-is-more style story, impossible to not love dark humour, ingenious puzzle and physics in general, most quoted character, and atmospheric graphics, and best song.)

Onimusha: Warlords (For a deep and lightening-fast combat system, an intriguing storyline, ingenious puzzles, a few good characters, and a heroic soundtrack.)

However, Assassin'S Creed 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, LittleBigPlanet, Half Life 2, Dead Space, MGS1, and Mirror's Edge all get a friendly wave of acknowledgement. Here's to the new year, and hopefully, HEAVY RAIN!

I'll try and cover every genre, and only one game per franchise, maybe a reason if controversial, here goes;
Crono Trigger, widely known as the best RPG ever
Final Fantasy VI, better than VII and X only due to depth of characters and story
Goldeneye, huge favourite for everyone
Half Life 2, better than 1 marginally
Ico, beautiful, masterpiece, that sort of thing.
Metal Gear Solid 3, not as interesting as 1, 2 or 4 storywise, the gameplay is something of a high point.
Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, an almost perfect text adventure and incredible fun.
Prince of Persia, the new one...it's gorgeous and gets everything right apart from collecting light seeds
Resident Evil 4, generally brilliant
Silent Hill 2, ask Yahtzee, I agree with him on this game
Sonic The Hedgehog 2, amazing fun and surprisingly challenging
Street Fighter II, the best beat em up
Super Mario World, read Sonic 2
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, this is the game with the most memorable moment ever for me, it was night and I was sneaking through a field shadowing someone, I looked up at the sky, I saw the stars, the grass looked as if it were glowing, then the sun rose and the world exploded into colour...honestly, it was spell bounding, I was in awe.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, I could decide between Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time and then remembered how beautiful this game was and how much detail was in it, Link's eyes moving got me, everything about Wind Waker was magical just as a nintendo title should be.

Honourable mentions to;
Ape Escape, best use of the analogue sticks
Dissidia: Final Fantasy, what? It's amazing and so obviously the future of beat em ups
Far Cry 2, huge, deep shooter
Final Fantasy VII, it's 3D and great
Final Fantasy X, HUGE amount of detail and almost every character in Spira has a voice
Katamari Damacy, second best use of the analogue sticks ever
Metroid Prime, amazing
Mirror's Edge, one of the most thrilling atmospheric action games I have ever played.
Okami, beautiful
Pokemon Gold/Silver, Real Time RPG...just awsome
Portal, GOD!
Shadow of the Colossus, amazing
The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, almost perfect
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time , see FFVII

I like your attitude regarding KOTOR II, exactly the same as mine.

1. KOTOR 2
2. LoZ: Ocarina of Time
3. Halo 1/2
4. Goldeneye 64
5. Resident Evil 2
6. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
7. Super Mario 64
8. Megaman Battle Network 3
9. Oblivion
10. Resident Evil 4

I'm not good at making lists and making the order so this is not really accurate.

In this order:

1) Syphon Filter Series (up to and including 3, OS wasn't bad, but Gabe was nowhere near as badass as he was in 1-3, and I could stand the gameplay of Logan's Shadow or Dark Mirror)
2) Half-Life Series (All of them)
3) Metroid Series (All of them, especially the Primes)
4) Kingdom Hearts Series (All of them, can't wait for Birth by Sleep)
5) Pikmins (Is there a 3rd on the way?)

Most games I've played I've adored. I don't do impulse buying. I do plenty of research on games before I buy it, and when I buy it, I love it for all its aspects.

All Time favorites that will never be usurped:
Kingdom Hearts 2
Aquaria

Others:
Mass Effect
Fallout 3
Knights of the Old Republic
Torchlight
Batman Arkham Asylum
God of War 2
Tomb Raider Legend
Ultimate Spider Man
Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith (if only for the multiplayer vs matches)

Please note that I'm relatively new to M-rated gaming and as such realize I'm missing out on games like Half-Life 2 or Metal Gear Solid. Heck, barring the first person view from Fallout 3, I have never played a First Person Shooter before. I dunno, I just can't seem to wrap my head around looking through the eyes of a character. I like to see my character model on screen.
