Currently twiddling my thumbs as I enjoy a month of post degree R&R and have been catching up on the large number of games I never got a chance to play, but the well has run dry and for the life of me I cant think of what to get next.
So I was hoping that the good people of the Escapist could reccomend something? Preferably some big dumb fun as Ive just finished LA Noir.

Cheers for any suggestions you can give.

EDIT= Oops forgot to mention is 360 only platform wise.

Big dumb fun, eh? Well, the King of big dumb fun has a new game dropping in a couple weeks, so if you're willing to wait, Duke Nukem Forever is just about here.

As for games that are currently out, Saints Row 2 was insane if you like open world. Bulletstorm is also a great game for fast paced action with beautiful graphics and scenery and a surprisingly good story... oh yeah, and you can also leash someone, strap a bomb to them, kick them into a cactus, and blow up their dead body as their friend runs by the cactus to get a double kill. Bayonetta was another silly fun game that was, again, extremely fast paced and extremely underrated, though the story was literally impossible to figure out.

Big dumb fun? Well, if you've played Fallout 3, how about Fallout: New Vegas? Planting a stack of C4 in a pack of brahmin is basically the definition of dumb fun. Flying two-headed cows.

I would recommend it on the PC, though, for mods, fixes, and console commands.

Just dumb fun? ok

Bulletstorm crazy killing just for fun

Brutal Legend, because its a funny game, and one of my favorite

Crackdown2, would be a great choice cheap open world, and co-op

Dead Rising 2, same as CD2 but with zombies
Those are the big ones for dumb fun

Try Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno. Dante is a bit of a God of War clone, but God of War is a PS3 exclusive. Lost Planet is okay although it has one of the most detached last bosses I have ever seen.

You could also try some of the Lego games. Stuff like Starwars, Batman, and Indiana Jones.

Ah yes, wise words!

I picked up Assassins Creed:Brotherhood for £17; really good game, man.

Well, it can be played on the 360. I would just recommend it on the PC if at all possible.

Not least of all because it isn't the most bug-free game ever.

Damn ninja :(

If you're into ludicrous how-much-piss-is-this-game-trying-to-take? hack n slash then Darksiders is pretty good, so long as you don't mistake them for taking themselves seriously.

Thank you also for reminding of me of Saints Row 2 and Borderlands, 2 games that were originally on my "want to play but cant" list, Im gonna head off to my local gameshop and see which is cheaper.

Thank you again :)
