Who's the oldest gamer you know? For me, it's my Aunt, she's almost 70 and she loooves First-Person shooters, mostly Tom Clancy titles.

Oh, and my mom is 64 and practicably lives on Farmville...not sure if that makes her a gamer though.

Wow, that has me beat.

The oldest I can think of is a woman my family know, she's in her forties, has an eighteen year old son and a sixteen year old daughter, and she spends more time playing Call of Duty 4 then either of them do.
Unfortunatley I cannot for the life of me remember her name, we only met once you see.

Once my grandmother got a computer, she's started playing tons of Peggle and Bejewled. She's 84, I believe.
My older brother plays video games quite frequently as well, and he's 30.

My year 12 English teacher was a huge Metal Gear Solid fan. And he was about 45. Really good English teacher as well, that helped.

The oldest player I knew was my grandfather, he loved playing strategy games (pure turn based, RTS were too fast for him) and he basically kicked ass at this.
Sadly he passed away 2 years ago :(

PS. He was 87 years old.

I once played Gears of War with a 72 years old grandpa, on xBox LIVE.
Nice person, but:

1)God, he was awful. I mean REALLY awful. I mean walking-against-the-wall-for-10-seconds awful.

2)He wouldn't shut up. I'm not trying to evoke the typical stereotype or anything, I'm serious, half the time you had to mute him because he just wouldn't shut the hell up! Yes, you're 72, yes, getting used to the controls is likely very challenging, we understand that, but we really don't need to hear your story about how you tried to use a mouse and failed at it over the course of who knows how many games you mentioned, over and over and over again!

Oldest former guildmate in WoW was in his late 60s. In current guild, late 50s. Not 100% sure on exact ages, tho. >_o

Haha holy shit. For me it would be my mate from TAFE. He's 50 and he plays heaps of shit all the time. Especially the new Just Cause.

Whenever I go up to see my Grandparents, my Grandpa will play Links LS 97 with me on their computer. He's 66 now.

My 78 so to be 79 year old grandfather still has a NES hooked up to play tetris and dr. mario. And he STILL kicks my ass. My mom and stepfather have the Wii and my mom loves her DS.

About the oldest gamer I know is the dad of a friend of mine. He is in his late fourties, early fifties.

My dad turns 50 this year. He mastered old classics like Frogger, Donkey Kong Jr, and Asteroids back in the 80s. Started me off with Super Mario, Tetris, and Zelda for NES at age 3 or 4.
He was also a Trekkie and notorious pinball whiz. I owe every ounce of my geekiness to him.

My grand father has been playing games for as long as I can remember. He plays a lot of computer games and recently got a 360.
