Me. 38 and still going strong. This is my hobby, till death us do part.
Same for this 30 year old.

Also, my mom's been dominating Mrs. Pac-Man for decades now. She once entered a contest at a local game hangout and got so far in the game that it reset. Twice. She won a giant teddy bear.

She still plays classic Arcade games like Mappy and anything Pac-Man or Tetris related, and she was always supportive of my hobby. She learned about video games so she could enjoy them with me instead of using it as a babysitting tool like most parents do, and for that, I can't thank her enough.

My mom. She's in her 50's and she started gaming with with Zelda Link's Awakening, and then moved on to Diablo 2. After that she's played and beaten both FFX and FFXII with up to 150 hours of gameplay. And she also has her own WoW account. :)

My Judo Sensei. He loves the Battlefield, CoD and GTA series and he's about 35. We talk to him about games and movies when we're setting up and packing up.

Personally. A professor in his thirties. That I have ever communicated with? The Escapist staff has some semi-old guys and gals. That I know of? Retired people who play on the Wii.

My ma, who beat Zelda II: The Adventure of Link before I was even born. She's never played a game past the NES era, so she's really more of an old-school gamer, but I think it still counts.

Sounds a lot like me and my daughter now. She's grown into quite the gamer and we play all kinds of games together. Currently we're both playing Dragon Age: Origins. Obviously not at the same time since there's no co-op, but we often take turns. Fun times.

My grandma plays Plants vs. Zombies 'n all those types of popcap 'casual'-type games and is a huge impulsive buyer/hoarder when it comes to pc games on sale.

I'm 52 and have been playing since the mid-70's -

I have been converting my 'old fogey' friends to the power of HD gaming.

Became a reborn active console gamer with the PS1.
Stepped up to a PS2 after the Fat had a price drop.
Bought a PS3 Slim CECH 2000A upgraded to 500GB in September.

Beats watching TV.
Keeps the mind and the hand/eye coordination sharp.

Currently playing:

Brutal Legend - bought it today used for $17.

Have been recently enjoying:

Fallout 3 GotY
Uncharted 1 & 2
Oblivion
Bayonetta
Demon's Souls
GTA IV
Bioshock
Rachet & Clack ToD
Devil May Cry 4

The collection is growing.

My dad plays games and has a similar PC to me (and I'm a PC gamer) he also got me into games in the first place. But I wouldn't really call him a gamer, I'd be more inclined to just say "he plays games occasionally"

Mostly he just really likes seeing the pretty graphics and what his machine can do, his actual taste in games is very limited and anything more complicated than an FPS makes him get frustrated. He does like the odd strategy game though. But at most he's a very casual gamer.

Oh and he's 46

Let's see, my mom's 42 and plays the really mainstream games like Guitar Hero and Farmville.

A more worthy person to be called gamer is my older brother who is 30, he plays things more along the lines of Halo, Call of Duty, Fable, etc.
